BookSirens provided a copy of the ePub in exchange for an honest review.

Raindrops on Roses by Millenia Black is a truly original contemporary romance. Love triangle—high school sweethearts Michael and Amber are happy or so Amber believes. But then Michael meets Priscilla at her grandmother’s funeral and the attraction is undeniable. What a journey. This page-turner draws the reader into their world immediately. The strength of the well-developed characters sets the tone of this novel. The primary and secondary characters have clear and identifiable voices and behaviours. Although the story has many twists and turns the author keeps the plot moving quickly. Raindrops on Roses is not a stand-alone read. The journey is far from over. Looking forward to the next instalment in the Favorite Things Trilogy series.

Michael Frost meets the lovely Priscilla Bauer at her grandmother's funeral. Priscilla's grandmother was the legendary actress, Veronica Bauer, who left Hollywood at the peak of her popularity. Veronica and her husband, George, started the Favorite Things boutique hotels. Michael is attending Veronica's funeral since his family's business, Frosted Designs, has worked with the hotel chain for a long time.
Michael and Priscilla are instantly attracted to each other. Priscilla does not know that Michael is in a ten year old relationship with his high school sweetheart, Amber. Michael starts to try to think of ways to break up with Amber. Of course, everyone know that trying to live a double life or a lie is bound to end badly for all involved.
Author Millenia Black weaves a fabulous story that will keep you engaged from the first to last page. You can read RAINDROPS ON ROSES in one sitting, which is a good thing since once you start you won't be able to put it down. All the main characters are well fleshed out and the reader can relate to them "warts and all".
RAINDROPS ON ROSESis the first of a trilogy. The epilogue left me wanting to know more about what will happen with Michael, Amber and Priscilla.
If you have not read Ms. Black's earlier novels, THE GREAT PRETENDER or THE GREAT BETRAYAL, shame on you. You need to get them as soon as possible to enjoy more fabulous reads.

Raindrops on Roses was an unexpected read, and I wasn’t entirely sure what I was going into. On the one hand, it had me curious. On the other hand, it had me fearful. After all, a story that is based upon cheating is not my thing… and yet, I was hooked.

This is far from being a cute love story, instead it is a story of heightened passions and how things can progress into the extremes. Fast paced, it easily packs a punch and you find yourself feeling for characters you did not expect to. With more and more being added throughout, this quick read is a rollercoaster that will have you eager to see what comes next.

Raindrops on Roses will not be for everyone, but those willing to enter with an open mind are sure to be gripped by the intensity.

Another great book by this author!

This book is the first in the series and is incredibly addictive! I love the writing style and fast paced rhythm this book offers.

A tumultuous love story with highs and lows that we have come to expect from this author.

It's a wild ride and only book one in this series. I can't wait for the next one!

I was able to get a copy of this book from BookSirens. I was unaware at first that it was the start to a series, but what a great start. I'm not really fond of cheating, but I think that the way Michael owned up to what he had done wrong and tried to make it right was impressive. I do not like Amber and I feel like she takes advice from the wrong people. I'm nervous as to the chaos that she might cause in future books.

I really like Priscilla and think she is a classy lady. I'm unsure of her brother but hope that she can keep things the way her grandmother would have wanted. I feel like her brother is going to take things too far and be purely in it for the money and not what Veronica would have wanted for the hotels.

I think this was a very great start to a series and it's already got me wanting to read more. I also really love the titles of the books.

Millenia Black's Raindrops on Roses was a great read. I really liked Priscilla, I thought she was sweet and I would be her friend if she was a real person. I also really liked Amber, I understood her pain and confusion and even her desperation. The author wrote them Amber in particularly very well. The entire read was quite good but I truly hated Michael. I have never disliked a character as much as I hated this lead male. Priscilla deserved better and Amber, my God, did she deserve so much more than to be tossed aside like so much garbage.

I've read other reviews calling Amber crazy and a stalker but honestly she was a woman who gave nearly 10 years worth of love into a relationship with a man who decided on a whim that he was bored of her and wanted the new young thing. He cast her aside and so abruptly, it wasn't as if she took their relationship for granted or anything. He was a cretin who decided to pursue a grieving woman at the most vulnerable time, knowing fully well that he had a long term girlfriend that up until that moment he had no problem being with. Michael literally had no plans of leaving her until he decided to chase after Priscilla, who was an innocent in the whole thing.

I hope Michael becomes a better person in the next book because right now he's the scum of the earth yet he claims to be a nice guy. argh I hated him but I loved the two lead females so much. I am very torn as you can tell. Kudos to the writer who made me feel so deeply about a character because that is pure talent right there!

Michael meets Cilla - they fall in love instantly and passionately. Trouble is Michael is still living with long time girlfriend Amber.

I didn't like Michael - I felt so sorry for Amber and can really understand what's driving her.

I really like Cilla - is not her fault.

Raindrops on Roses is very readable and enjoyable story. The fact I dislike the male lead and feel sorry for the antagonist shows how well the author has written her characters.

Looking forwards to see what happens the the next book in the series - Blue Satin Sashes due out in November

This mixed family and relationship drama is well plotted and the very engaging main characters are enchanting and interesting in the ways their complex relationship becomes entangled and they develop mostly negatively in this opening volume of three.
Priscilla Bauer and Michael Frost as the main protagonists quickly enter the reader's heart. Amber Holland and her mother make wonderful villains and are easily hated, even if Amber and Michael have been lovers for most of a decade, there is no way she can be as exciting as Priscilla, who crushed on Michael in High School.
That doesn't begin to put a dent in the hurdles and complexities cropping up in the volume. Anyone who reads the title and/or the blurb will expect a cliffhanger, and our author gives us a very good one. I suggest having funds on hand to purchase #2 and #3 before starting this volume. Not only will the cliffhanger be a motivation, but the quality of the execution in this volume was a bigger justification for me.

I received a review copy of this book through BookSirens and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I would like to begin by stating that I received the book Raindrops on Roses an an Advanced Review Copy (ARC) from the author and I am reviewing this review voluntarily.

Raindrops on Roses is book #1 in the Favorite Things Trilogy by Millenia Black; it is a contemporary romance novel based on three main, very well-developed characters: Michael Frost, Priscilla Bauer, and Amber Holland and it is centered on the love triangle that forms between these characters later in the plot. The story begins when Michael Frost, CEO of Frosted Designs attends the funeral for their highly esteemed celebrity client, where he meets his granddaughter, the lovely Priscilla Bauer for the first time and is instantly attracted to her. Priscilla's grandmother was a legendary Hollywood actress who retired from the film industry at the pinnacle of her cinematic career to become a world-renowned hotelier and joined her husband George Bauer in establishing Bauer Enterprises, along with the Favorite Things Hotels brand, a multi-national chain of luxury boutique hotels, which would be managed under the Favorite Things Hotels brand and Bauer Enterprises, respectively. When Michael meets Priscilla at her grandmother's funeral for the first time, he captivated by her beauty. But as Michael and Priscilla connect with one another conversationally, they realize that the attraction between them is mutual--except Michael is even more intrigued by her the more he hears her talk; and despite Priscilla's grief-stricken and alcohol-induced state of mind, the two end up acting on their desire, and spend the night together in Priscilla's room at her late grandmother's lavish estate, Emerald Leas.

The next morning, as reality sets in, both Michael and Priscilla agree to put their one night stand behind them and decide to keep in touch as friends before returning to their respective lives. At least for Michael, the thought of returning to his life--whether it'd be returning to the Frosted Designs office to work alongside his father, Larry Frost or to his apartment that he shares with his high school girlfriend, Amber Holland--fills him with a real sense of dread, and all he wanted to do was to spend the day cuddled in bed with Priscilla. Yet, Michael knew that wouldn't be a possibility since she'd just lost her grandmother the previous day and would certainly need the space to grieve properly. Still, the idea of returning home is not something that Michael is looking forward to but he returns home reluctantly, since his decade long relationship with Amber had stagnated for quite some time and he was beginning to feel quite stifled in the relationship and as a result, he was anxious to end the relationship on amicable terms. A few days have passed since he'd first met Priscilla and spent the night with her on the night of Veronica Bauer's funeral, yet Michael simply can't stop thinking and daydreaming about her. So, he decides to text her and asks her to have lunch with him and after much discussion, the two begin communicating more often via text and begin some form of a casual relationship with each other.

In the meantime, Michael decides to take a vacation with Amber--albeit reluctantly--hoping to revive his relationship with her and reignite the spark in their relationship. After all, salvaging their relationship seemed only logical and besides, he was expected to anyway, since he and Amber had been together for over a decade and in any case, Amber expected Michael to finally propose to her--regardless of how he really felt about committing to her long term and whether or not he was even prepared for, was not something she'd given much thought to. Despite his best efforts, Michael seems rather disinterested in reconnecting with Amber or giving her his undivided attention, and simply goes through the motions half-heartedly--attempting to convince Amber, but mostly himself, that he can reignite the spark in their relationship; even though he is distracted by the thoughts of Priscilla and the time they'd spent together on the night of her grandmother's funeral. If anything, Michael's mind is filled with thoughts of Priscilla, along with the guilt of failing fo revive his relationship with Amber and is even more determined to tell Amber the truth, so that he can convince her to part ways as friends and finally rid himself of the guilt of cheating on her once and for all--but mostly, and free himself in order to pursue a relationship with Priscilla. Just as Michael is contemplating a way to confess the truth to Amber, she picks up Michael's cell phone after she hears a text tone on it, only to find a slightly personal text from Priscilla, indicating that she misses him and to text him once he returns from his trip, causing Amber to tremble with fury as she confronts Michael about the text. She is further enraged to discover that Michael did not only lie to her about working late, but that he also cheated on her on the night of Veronica Bauer's funeral.

As Michael is confronted by an enraged Amber for his infidelity, he feels utterly remorseful about lying to her and cheating on her by having a one-night stand, and thus apologizes to her profusely for hurting her. Simultaneously, though, he also finally gathers the courage and decides to end their relationship--expressing his waning interest and desire for the relationship and hoping that she would understand and agree to part ways as friends. Except, Amber refuses to accept the break-up and becomes quite hysterical--begging and groveling with him, as she desperately clung onto their failing relationship, with the intent of changing his mind about ending their relationship; and while she manages to convince Michael to stay with her in the moment, he does so begrudgingly with a feeling of resentment towards Amber. Even though Amber had managed to change his mind temporarily, the growing distance between them causes Amber to panic and in a desperate attempt to save her relationship, she enlists her mother's help, who is clearly an expert in manipulative mind games and thus advises Amber to tell Michael that she was pregnant, as it would serve as the proverbial ball and chain that binds him to her forever, and compel him to commit to her long term. However, Michael is unfazed by her pregnancy lie and in spite of her manipulative mind games that were intended to change his mind about terminating their relationship, he moves out of their apartment anyway, leaving Amber even more hysterical and desperate than before.

After Michael finally succeeds in ending his relationship with Amber and moving out of the three-bedroom apartment that he shares with her--albeit with some help from the police due to her threats and hysterical behavior--he moves on very quickly and wastes no time in pursuing a relationship with Priscilla after leaving his decade-long relationship with Amber barely moments ago. Even as Michael enters a relationship with Priscilla, he continues to hide the truth of his relationship with Amber from her--instead, choosing to remain in a state of blissful ignorance as both he and Priscilla enjoy the honeymoon phase of their relationship. Although, if Michael concealed the truth about his and Amber's relationship, it wasn't due to any malicious intentions he may have had regarding his relationship with Priscilla, nor was it because he intended to hurt her--at least, not deliberately anyway. No; in fact, Michael simply presumed that as he'd already broken up with Amber, there was no need for Priscilla to concern herself with the details of the relationship or with Amber herself. Nevertheless, Michael's shortsightedness and presumptions become a liability and ultimately cost him his relationship with Priscilla, who finally discovers the truth about his relationship with Amber from none other than Amber herself, causing her to deeply hurt and betrayed by Michael’s lie to the point where she questions not only his intentions toward her but also the authenticity of their connection.

However, Michael isn’t the sole culprit in his unintended deceit; because while Priscilla and Michael had been blissfully happy in their relationship, Amber’s mother and her cousin have been helping her devise various schemes to break-up Michael and Priscilla’s relationship or at least poison it thoroughly with her malice. Amber manages to accomplish this by paying Priscilla a visit at her grandmother’s home in Emerald Leas and showing her photographs of herself and Michael, in a desperate attempt to win Michael back and salvage her own relationship with him. Upon seeing the photos of Michael and Amber, Priscilla is stunned and breaks all contact with him, before declaring to him in no uncertain terms that she no longer wanted to see him or speak to him anymore. Hearing this, Michael is devastated and filled with a deep sense of remorse at the error of his ways, yet he instinctively knows that it is Amber who has told Priscilla the truth. At the same time, though, he is equally determined to rectify his mistake and make it up to Priscilla, so that she can forgive him and hopefully give him and their relationship a second chance. The story ends on a cliff-hanger, with a devastated, but determined Michael who follows Priscilla to Paris, while a triumphant Amber gloats after she succeeds in breaking Michael and Priscilla up, after she obtains a job at the Raindrops on Roses Hotel...but has she really succeeded in splitting them up? Let find out in Blue Satin Sashes (book #2) of the Favorite Things Trilogy by Millenia Black.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book and I cannot wait to read the remaining 2 books of the Favorite Things Trilogy by Millenia Black--actually, I bought the other books in this trilogy as soon as I was half-way through it! In fact, I'm currently on chapter 4 of Blue Satin Sashes and I plan on reading it this evening! This book was absolutely riveting with its fast-paced plot and well-developed characters is an absolutely must-read that is sure to keep the reader intrigued and captivated from the very first page until the very last! Just as another reviewer pointed out, Raindrops on Roses is an absolute page turner!! I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

I received a reviewer's copy of this book from Lola's Blog Tours in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book's blog tour promotions.

Raindrops and Roses starts out as a romance novel. We have the heroine who just lost her beloved grandmother, one who is a famous celebrity. The heroine meets the hero, whose father owns the company contracted by the heroine's grandmother. They have sex on the night of the funeral. The next day, the hero goes home to his fiance whom he has been with since high school.

Then the love triangle begins, with the hero bouncing to and from the heroine to his fiance. This is probably the thing I did not like the most about the hero. I've read books where the heroes cheated, but Michael Frost here was just a big jerk. First he plans on breaking up with his girlfriend because of the heroine. Then he breaks up with the heroine instead. Then he breaks up with the girlfriend for real this time.

After all of those things happening, this is when the story moves from simple romance to romantic suspense. Toward the ending, any reader would know that there will be weir, scary things that are bound to happen in the next installments. I truly did not fall in love with the hero. The heroine was not that much better too. I won't spoil the ending for the others, but when I finished the book, I immediately wished I'd know right away what's going to happen next.

Raindrops On Roses is a romance novel that subtly transitions into a suspense novel without the reader realizing that things were already getting exciting. The author has successfully written a progressive book that doesn't just focus on one genre but is able to move toward edgier tones that opens up more possibilities than you can imagine when you first pick this book up. That's why I'm rating this book three red hearts instead of something lower.

Michael Frost & Priscilla Bauer met at her grandmother's funeral, which he's attending with his father, as their company has worked with Priscilla's family hotel chain for years. They have an instant connection, and neither can deny it, so they spend the night together. And even after, Michael & Priscilla are quickly falling for each other. There's just one huge issue, Michael is still with his high school sweetheart, Amber, and although he's been unhappy in the relationship for a cool minute, he hasn't broken it off yet. But after meeting Priscilla, he knows now that he no other choice, only Amber isn't going to let him go so easily. And that's all the groundwork I'm going to lay about this story that has my needing more already. Usually, I'm not a big fan of stories told in the third person, but somehow, the talented Millenia Black makes it work, as I forgot that fact quickly as the addictive plot took over. And with all the cards waiting to fall with a girlfriend who has a crazy mom giving her even crazier ideas, I was on the edge of my seat for over half the book. I'm super excited to see what's next on tap with Michael & Priscilla, because at the end of this one, everything was kind of up in the air! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was an AMAZINGLY fabulous book..one that I could NOT put down and I cannot WAIT for the second book in the trilogy to come out. The characters suck you in and take hold of you and you keep thinking about them days after you're finished with the book.

Michael meets Priscilla whilst in the middle of his own mess of a relationship. Priscilla seems to be just as head over heels for Michael as he is for her. There's only one thing standing in their way...his current relationship, Amber. And she's a doozy...and she'll go to great lengths to make sure no one else has Michael...lies, deception, spying...this is definitely a roller coaster of a ride of emotions and you'll get sucked in too. GREAT READ!!!

I could not put this down. It's short and ends on a cliffhanger (you've been warned) and I've jumped right into book two! Michael isn't a bad guy, he just fell in love with Cilla and wants to be with her. Amber is too needy and volatile and I'm scared about what she'll do next! Great story.

This is an unexpected story that keeps you going from the very beginning. You have a relationship with Amber and Michael who you would want to believe are in love but really the relationship is just one sided. Sometimes young love finds itself just that, young love. Something that came together because of an age or an event in your life or just timing. For Michael I believe it was all of those and for some time now he really has been going through the motions. Amber can see all the signs but is not ready to accept it. Michael is faced with attending a funeral, which is something that brings up hard memories from his past but while there he sees her, Priscilla. He is immediately taken back by her. That is the moment everything changes for both of them. The triangle begins. On that fated night He should have told Priscilla about Amber. He could have explained maybe that he was wanting to leave or was unhappy but instead said nothing and let his carnal desires take over. Leading to a new relationship between the two of them to begin. Michael knows this is wrong and is struggling with the guilt and plans to leave Amber right away. While he still cares for Amber, he is not in love with her. His is a good guy who is always trying to do the right thing. But as his guilt would lead him astray, when he try’s to leave Amber he is not successful. Eventually Amber finds out about Priscilla and this leads Michael to try to temporarily break their relationship off. During this entire time Priscilla is working to mourn the loss of her grandmother’s death and take over her hotel empire with her brother. She is trying to find herself and come to terms with the changes in her life. Michael continues to struggle with the nice guy complex agreeing to stay in a relationship he is no longer happy in because he feels like he owes that to Amber until she does the unthinkable. Amber is so consumed with jealousy that she tells Michael that she’s pregnant in an attempt to keep him in the relationship. He knows this is a lie so in that moment is when he finally decides that it’s time to leave. Michael and Priscilla are like a moth to a flame. They are drawn to each other and it is not long before they find there way back each other, but Michael still carries a secret about having the relationship with Amber. This decision sets a chain reaction in place that could forever change the relationship between Michael and Priscilla. Amber is scorned, what will she do? What happens when Priscilla finds out about Amber? Will Michael and Priscilla’s relationship be able to survive or will it be over? This book has lots of twists and turns. Amber is not your only manipulative character, so you definitely have to read to see all the hot details. Oh and the best past of the very interesting twist at the end!

Okay, I really really liked this book. There were some things that I kind of didn't like, such as the third point of view from Amber, but that was only at the beginning. As the story progressed, I actually liked having Amber's point of view because I felt it is essential to the plot.

Michael upset me at the beginning, but I found myself liking him a lot, especially with how repentant he was towards the end. I'm a sucker for reading grovelling heroes, and I know that is how it will be in the second book. I plan to start it right after this review.

This book began as a four star, but at the end I had to give it five, because it was the kind of book that had me thinking of it in between breaks and wondering what was going to happen once I picked it back up. I also predicted some things correct and it made me so happy, for instance the cliffhanger. Yeah, earlier in the book I was like, this is going to happen, and after a minute I thought it wasn't going to happen, but alas! it did and I am both happy and worried, because I just know that Amber has some shit up her sleeve.

Even though this book wasn't as steamy as I had hoped, it was still a great read for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it and finishing the rest of the trilogy is at the top of my to-do list right now.

I'm hoping for a bit more intimacy in the second.

Fingers crossed!

While it took me a while to get into the story, I did end up liking it and the book is actually quite short and can be finished in under a day. The characters are bold and decisive. Michael meets Priscilla at a vulnerable time in her life, when she lost the one parent/adult in her life who took care of her and defended her against her abusive mother. He met her at a time when he was living in the last dregs of his relationship with Amber, his live-in girlfriend who he'd been dating since high school. The romance is a whirl-wind affair. Michael and Priscilla share a very deep passion for each other and Amber feels it for Michael. I don't stand by all the choices that the characters make, however, it's a novel, and therefore, the choices, however immoral they may be, are quite entertaining. I did have fun reading through the story and it's grabbed me enough that I feel compelled to read the second book in the series.
This first book did end on a cliffhanger with a twist that most might not see coming!

I recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick read of romance, rich people, and a roller-coaster of emotional characters!

Michael Frost meets Priscilla Bauer at her Grandmother's funeral and they have a connection that leads to a night together. Michael returns home to his girlfriend Amber, he has a plan to end it but what happens when he does. Will his new relationship with Priscilla thrive or will Amber interfere wanting Michael back?

The story is well written and I give it a 3.5. I was a bit put off by Michael and the way he dealt with Amber and that he cheated. Overall the chemistry of Michael and Priscilla is fantastic you want this couple to work, I liked how the story unfolded but it does have a cliffhanger ending.

I enjoyed this love triangle. Michael fell out of love with his high school sweetheart, Amber and she goes ballistic. He's fallen for Priscilla, the granddaughter of a Hollywood actress who recently passed away, and Michael tries to transition from one relationship to another in the dodgiest way possible - and he pays the price.

Considering the fact that Michael had lost his mother at an early age and hadn't had much experience in relationships beyond Amber, it's not surprising he handle the whole affair like a dope. But I believed his affections for Priscilla were sincere, and he tried to make Amber whole

I like the name of the trilogy and the clever concept of the Bauer hotels. Priscilla is my favorite character, I feel bad for her with everything she'd been through and then losing her grandmother.

The story ends with a bit of a jaw-dropping revelation and compelled me to continue the trilogy, totally invested. Reading book #2 is a must!

Great writing, great plot, great characters! Yes, it is a cliffhanger, but what a good one! You won't be able to wait one minute to find the next book.
I loved these characters from the start. I could feel Michael's restlessness with Amber before he even meets Priscilla. I could feel how stunned Priscilla is when they meet at her grandmother's funeral and fall for each other instantly--they both find it hard to believe.

And the evil characters are so well-written too. They all have depth and odd but resonant motives, which is rare.

It is no wonder that this series is three books--it will take that long to figure out what is going on and how it all turns out!

A woman scorned and cheated on is a woman to fear. There are no boundaries when respect and decency are ignored. While I thought Amber was unhinged and did not condone her actions, Michael was delusional in thinking there were no repercussions for his actions.

I have to admit I was totally floored by this book. I had no idea what was all started by Micheal would turn into such a crap storm. It is highly suspenseful and while Michael tries to play the innocent here he is far from innocent more like the major reason things go south and with a quickness. He will soon learn vengeance from a woman scorned is the worse kind there is. Love Cilla is a strong independent woman and for her and Michael the attraction is instant and mutual. When she finds out what is going on heads will roll. Great suspense, with all the markings of a great book, vengeance, jealousy, and revenge all wrapped in a pretty picture. Well done

The story intrigued me from the start and had me eager to find out what would happen next. Surprisingly, the character that intrigued and interested me the most wasn’t the hero or the heroine — it was Amber. Relationships and human emotions aren’t black and white. They are very complicated and at times irrational. I felt sorry for Amber. Don’t get me wrong - nothing excuses the crap she pulled, but it came from a very sad and desperate place. No one wants to be replaced, discarded, and rejected.

Although I liked the heroine Priscilla, I just couldn’t warm up to Michael. In fact — I don’t like him at all! I don’t care for the things he’s done, and although he knows he did wrong and contributed to someone else’s pain, it seems like he thinks he can walk away unscathed and without any blowback. No… I don’t think so, buddy.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the “Raindrops on Roses” audiobook. I will definitely continue the “Favorite Things” trilogy, and I’ve already started looking into Ms. Black’s previous books.

Millenia Black is another new author to me. I love reading a book by an author not known to me because there’s a kind of tension when I start reading because I really don’t know what I’m going to get. Will I enjoy the author’s style, the way they set out their book, the way they make the story flow?

I have to say I’m very impressed with Raindrops on Roses. Now I get that a love triangle isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if it’s done right, then you kind of accept the cheating.

For example….Michael had been with Amber for 10 years. They were childhood sweethearts and had made a life together based on their feelings when they first met. I think time changes a person, a relationship. I think you go with the flow, trying not to rock the boat, not even looking to see if the grass is greener. Then one day BANG! You meet someone who makes you question everything in your life. Are you just going through the motions of life? Are you truly happy? And most importantly, what the fuck are you going to do about it?

Michael did actually do the right thing….he just had a slight overlap which I think is ok. Maybe that’s because I’m a bloke and we see things differently from women. He did come across as a genuinely nice guy, not a dirty rat cheater.

Priscilla was in shock at the death of her grandmother and her tryst with Michael was out of character. But it was consensual and although she felt the timing was off, she fell for Michael big style. I felt she was a strong character, strong the way she dealt with the betrayal. Strong the way she went after what she wanted.

And lastly Amber….oh Amber. I’m going to lock up my bunnies with you around! I hate the road she first went down to try and get Michael to stay. She certainly is a well written woman scorned!

Can believe I didn’t noticed this was part 1 and now I’m going to be chomping at the bit waiting for part 2. This is definitely worth following.

Raindrops on Roses by Millenia Black, releasing on November 18, is the first book in her Favorite Things Novella Trilogy and it’s an exciting start! There’s a love triangle, romance, betrayal, and a woman bent on revenge. This book comes in at about 140 pages which makes it just perfect for snuggling up by the fire or in your cozy chair and enjoying for a few hours.

Priscilla Bauer lives a good life due to a very hefty inheritance but that doesn’t help take away the pain from the loss of her grandmother who was a Hollywood icon. She desperately misses her and this leaves her vulnerable. Into this walks Michael Frost, a brand designer, who has worked for Priscilla’s grandmother. Priscilla is taken with Michael’s good looks but even more so by his kindness and concern with how she’s doing. Micheal is completely besotted by Priscilla and knows that he has to have her. Of course it isn’t long before sparks fly between the two. The problem is Michael is already in a relationship and Amber has no intention of ever letting some other woman get her claws into her man. Someone has to pay for ruining Amber’s life – the only question is who?

The book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger so I’m looking forward to reading the next one to see what is going to happen. I really like Priscilla and hope she’ll come through this all unscathed but somenhow I doubt it. So far I think Michael is a jerk but we’ll see and Amber – well Amber is nuts. All in all a great combination for a really good story!

Recommended for lovers of dramatic love triangles! I really enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this book. The character development is so well done and it just sucks you in. Beautiful Cilla falls for Michael Frost after a one night stand proceeding her grandmothers funeral and as a reader you are instantly invested in their relationship and how it will develop until that is Amber is introduced and suddenly you can't believe what a snake Michael Frost is cheating on is high school sweet heart. Although there is a lot of deceit on Michael's part you still can't help but root for him in the end. Being able to see all 3 sides of the story is a brilliant way of making sure the reader has all the information and the story takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions through each character. Cannot wait to read book 2 and see how Michael and Cilla will get on in Paris as well as understanding what is going on with Amber and her quest to get Michael back.

I received a free copy of this book from book sirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
