This is a great reference for classical Chinese astrology. There is a wealth of information to help correlate the older Chinese charts with modern (Western) astronomical maps. Lowe offers access to the philosophical underpinnings of the Stems & Branches and provides a canvas for understanding how astrology charts can inform one's life. Very interesting book, but also a bit technical. I realized that I needed a better grounding in general astronomy and it's connection to astrological charts. However, once I had that familiarity I came back to this book and it made a number of things clear. I highly recommend this book, but it isn't an introductory text.
