Like protagonist Alex Whitfield, I have not been particularly interested in matters of the supernatural. And like him, I found quickly found myself being drawn into these matters, if less reluctantly than he. Soon I could not put it down. This book has well-developed characters, a quick-paced plot, richly detailed story-telling, just enough twists and turns to thrill, and a satisfying climax. Brent Winter was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to an 18-year-old single mother who claimed to have begun teaching him to read when he was two years old.
