I'm a theatre director without as much technical background as I would like, so I'm always looking through titles like this, trying to fill in a few more pieces of the puzzle. This succeeds better than most in that capacity. It's particularly good in details on lights. The author is opinionated, and the focus is mostly on school productions, but you could still draw wisdom from it in other constructs.

The Perfect Stage Crew by John Kaluta was a great book. The Book is geared towards all stage technicians who either want to learn or just remind them of tech terms. The book covers all different aspects of tech theater. It tells you ways to do thing that seem rater complicated. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who is in theater tech.
