I’ve always hated Hunter Altman.
I hated him at first sight, in my teens, when my mother met his worthless father.
I hated when Bill moved in with us, dragging Hunter like bad baggage.
I hated when Mom and Bill made it official, turning the delinquent a-hole in the next room into my brand-new stepbrother.
I hated when I fell for Hunter, and Hunter fell for me.
It killed me when he left us behind, shed like dead skin on his way to the top. And now that Hunter is a hotshot music producer on every magazine cover, I hate him even more.
I hate his money. I hate his fancy toys. I hate that he thinks he owns me … or worse, that he OWES me.
I hate that he’s back. That he’s soiled our ghetto with his pristine suit, his fancy black limousine.
My heart hurts, I hate him so much. And it scares me that my heart might keep loving him in the end, beneath it all.

It’s time for Hunter Altman’s story! If you read Hotel Indigo, you got a sneak peek into this complicated man. But don’t worry, Almost Wrong is a complete Standalone; so you can meet him for the first time here and not miss anything but a few passing scenes of him.
For a few years, Angie and Hunter lived under one roof, they shared a family through marriage and after they finally saw each other; they shared one night surrounded by little moments. But that was before. Before Hunter left. Before Hunter left the poverty in which he was raised, rose to the top of the music industry and was wealthy enough to have had become bored with it. And although he may have walked away years ago and never looked back, he never forgot Angie. The one woman he loved, even when he wasn’t supposed to.
While Hunter is off living the life of luxury, Angie allows herself to be saddled by her mother and step-father; giving up her life to take on their responsibilities and battling between resenting Hunter and envying him for his choices.
If you are like me and read a lot of romance books, it can be troubling at times. A lot of times plot and story are sacrificed to the Gods of hot & sweaty sex and even if you manage to find a one-handed read, you sort of just feel empty at the end of the book. Well, get ready to experience something completely new. Fulfillment. Almost Wrong is what I like to call Smart Erotica. It is still sexy, but not obscene. It is story and plot driven and sex took a little bit of a backseat but tension was used perfectly to still give the reader those little moments you need to experience along the journey.
I want you to ask yourself if you would rather read a book filled with just hot sex or read a story that was developed with some intimate and erotic moments. If it’s option two, this is the book for you. Be ready for a slow burn. The story pivots between Angie and Hunter’s POV and past/present and although it doesn’t take these two long to reunite – they have a lot to get through before they can move forward.

awful. the guy has been having copious amounts of sex with his "gf" and another woman bareback and days later, has sex with h, also bareback. i was thinking STD all throughout the story. also, the guy became a billionaire but couldn't even lend a hand to his family and the h who were impoverished. he's definitely one of the most unlikable MCs I read in a while.

I had a glimpse of Hunter Altman in Hotel Indigo and made me wonder why he is the way he is. A billionaire who is most of the time under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Then this book came and now I know his story.
Hunter and Angela was put together because of circumstances that they didn't chose. Hunter's dad married Angela's mom making them step siblings and made everything they felt forbidden. Hunter left and left Angela to carry on the burden of taking care of her mom and his dad plus all the responsibilities that came with it while Hunter is making his billions.
This is not your typical stepbrother/stepsister kind of relationship nor its a modern day Romeo and Juliet love story. Because of one red envelope, they were put back together in each others path and made him go back to the llace that he left behind.
As a reader I can't help but have mixed feelings toward Hunter. Do I hate him because of what he did when he was younger and what he did after seeing Angela again? Or do I love him for proving that he is not the typical billionaire a-hole and proved that he loves Angela? Yes I hated him for being the not caring guy that he is and only think about his money, alcohol, drugs and women. And yes I love him for standing up to his mistakes and making everything right in life and with Angela. Maybe he did it out of guilt or out of love but the important thing is that he is making amends with his father and finally spending his life with the person that he loves most.

This author has so much Talent. Its not often I read a book and it takes me back into my life. He has a way of touch on human nature. Seeing more than just the surface of people. This comes across in his characters. It comes across in his stories. I could not put the book down, as I read it I was completely sucked in. This is a great read.

It’s nearly identical.
The only difference seems to be the H doesn’t fuck a bunch of women while high as fuck after the h runs out of the restaurant. We see OWGF and his BFF fuck instead…he always thought they were. AND THE H STILL ONLY FUCKS THE h IN A LIMO…such a shit way to treat her. Especially after he fucked every OW sans condom all over his apartment…*shivers and tries not to vomit*….I’m all for the angst and random fucking, but condoms are a must.
This was just such A DUMB FUCKING BOOK.

It’s time for Hunter Altman’s story. He has been mentioned multiple times in some of the author’s previous books and I was very curious about his story. It can perfectly be read as a standalone, so no need to read other books before reading Almost Wrong. I do recommend the other books, because I love them all.
Angela’s mother was not an amazing mother until she met Bill and she changed. They decided to get married and Angela got a stepbrother, Hunter. Hunter was not always nice to Angela, but they do grow slower to each other after living together for a while. Hunter and Angela have feelings for each other, but the taboo held them apart. Then one day, Hunter just leaves. Angela hates him for doing that, but she also misses him. She needs to take care of her mother and Bill now.
Many years later, Hunter is a successful businessman and he’s very rich. One day, he decides he wants to talk to Angela. Angela isn’t very welcoming, but she eventually wants to hear him out. They have a great day together and reconnect.
I loved knowing more about Hunter and the woman he can’t forget. Hunter isn’t all who he seems and that was a nice surprise. He would do anything for Angela and he wants to be with her. He doesn’t care that she’s his stepsister. Angela also never forgot Hunter, but she hates his money. She works hard and takes care of her family. Angela is sweet, caring and loving.
They are a few flashbacks, so you get to know their pasts, how they met and how they grew closer. They reconnect easily and fast, maybe a little too fast in my opinion. Everything happens so fast and they aren’t completely the same person anymore.
The last chapter is a great introduction to the author’s next series. I really love the sound of it and I can’t wait!

I really liked this story. This story was about the characters Hunter and Angela. Hunter grew up with an alcoholic abusive father. Hunter has a chip on his shoulder although no one would blame him, which leads to his dislike to the family his father marries into. Which leads to his dislike for his step sister. But when he realizes he doesn't in fact hate her but has to remove himself from her life and work on himself, he leaves. I liked how the author showed the growth of character in Hunter. We caught glimpses of this character in other books and he seemed so superficial. In Hotel Indigo he piqued my interest that there was more to him. I really liked his character.
The way Angela was written was relatable. She lived a pretty shut in life. She took care of the family Hunter left behind she felt it was her burden to bare. She resented Hunter for this. I don't usually highlight books but I had to stop and highlight this.... "But although it's true that time heals all wounds, sometimes those wounds close with a splinter inside," Seriously that was profound. It spoke to me, it is so true. Any reader who has felt a death or suffered a loss of another kind, will relate to that line. One doesn't usually get that from a romance book. Hunter pushed away his past trying to not look back. Angela lived her life in the past not even hoping for the future. Hunter and Angela finally come face to face again and both struggle to deal with their pasts and what it means for their future. I recommend this book.

This book a standalone. For people who don't need to read other books, where people are background characters, sometimes only mentioned by name &/or in a scene, then, this is a standalone! Trevor Altman, the main character, has been mentioned in every book, and according to the authors notes, this was done purposely. So, if you are like me, and like to read everything in the way intended, go to the authors website and get the list. However, you need to hurry, because as of November 1st, something Epic starts! This book is a lead into the new beginning of a series called, The Trillionaire Boys Club. #jointhesyndicate. The links for this group, previous books, and the next book, are provided, by this amazing author, Aubrey Parker, at the end of this book. Hunter Altman is a player, rich (billionaire), successful man, who has everything anyone can want, but he's a miserable lonely man, who uses alcohol and drugs to try and forget the past. Angela is a beautiful, naive woman, who works hard to take care of her mother and stepfather, even though they are not the greatest. She gave her heart away a long time ago, along with her purity. Angela has no use for Hunter Altman. Does he think he is fooling her with the annual birthday card signed by his assistant with a $100.00 Olive Garden g/c inside? Who needs him, she is doing just fine without him. She is the one who stayed and is taking care of her mom and step-dad. Hunter abandoned them all and hasn't looked back. She hates Hunter Altman, or does she? I mean who does he think he is? Standing by his limo, with his expensive watch and wearing a Tux? Geez, stepbrothers!
I have to say I was a little leery when I realized this is a stepbrother romance. But, as always, Aubrey Parker brings something new to the table. I liked this story, it's definitely something different. And even though I didn't like Hunter for much of the book, once I understood where he was coming from I kinda liked him by the end! Angela, the good girl who has stood by as the caretaker for her mother and step father, working as a waitress to make ends meet and living in the shady part of town. She longs for more but knows this her fate.
Hunter and Angela are worlds apart but their lives used to be very similar. Hunter and Angela become step brother and sister in their teenage years. They share a connection that is dangerous and lustful.. Hunter knows that he cannot stay and live this poor, unsatisfying life, being hated by his father and step mother. He decides to leave and make his own way, never looking back. A decade passes and a a simple birthday card opens a Pandora's box for Hunter.
Angels's anger and resentment fuel her hate for Hunter but he is determined to some how make things right. This book is full of twists and turns, lust and hot steamy series that will leave you breathless and wanting more. This book is so right in so many ways. If this book is wrong then I don't want to be right! I am a huge Aubrey Parker fan and this is a stellar representation of his crafting of deep stories with the hotness to back it up.. A must read!

I have like zero words for this book...in a good way...Aubrey never disappoints when it comes to his stories. I FLOVED this book in an almost wrong way (see what I did there). Hunter was the ultimate rags to riches story which peaked my interest. The fact that at such a young age he had the fortitude to walk away from something...the only thing he really ever knew to be true says a lot about him. Angela was this perfect girl who did what she was told and what was expected of her...the opposite of the way Hunter lived his life. They were brought together under strained circumstance's...the same strained circumstance's that tore them apart.
Years later they are both comfortable (so to speak) in the daily routines that have become the life they both choose. One thing leads to the other and just like that they are both back in front of each other like no time has passed between them. Angela desperately wants to hate Hunter, but I think deep down she knows he did what the thought was best for her at the time. Hunter desperately wants Angela to forgive him. If you want to find out how this story unfolds then you best read it!!!

Well, even though this is all fiction it was really hard for me to put my thoughts together and give it a fair rating. One thing is for certain, Aubrey's writing style is outstanding. He brings his characters to life and that's exactly what we all hope to find when reading a great story.
After meeting Hunter in Aubrey's previous book "Hotel Indigo", I thought he couldn't get any nastier but I was prove wrong! He was just not only arrogant, but self-centered, self-absorbed, manipulative, cocky, and a demanding jerk. However, deep down I thought he was insecure because he kept people at his side only because he needed to heard them said how wonderful he was.
Who in the right mind let other people belittle, humiliate and insult the person they claim to truly love their entire life? Why let her run away all alone instead for going after her and stand by her side? Well, that's just my personal opinion.
However, I have to admit that is admirable how Hunter overcome his upbringing to succeed in life and become a very successful individual.
Moving from past to present - present to past, the story is told on dual POV!!

*** I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. *** Almost Wrong was an emotional read for me. Spanning several years of history between step siblings, it reveals a long standing bitterness between Hunter and Angela. When Hunter left the house that they once shared, he left her having to fend for herself; and left leaving her to feel unworthy and unwanted. After years have passed, and while both have changed, some things remained - her resentment and his need for her approval and forgiveness. Although they both knew that being together would be difficult and frowned upon, their persistent need for one another endured. While my heart sunk as I read of Angela's hurt, it made for the angst that I crave and enjoy in a romance book. Aubrey Parker took this relationship and explored every aspect of their emotions, their insecurities, and their unconventional love. I took great delight that they both found that they brought out the better in each other. Almost Wrong unveiled a story of second chances. A long standing story of devotion and warmth that evolved into the inevitable. I enjoyed this love story immensely, and I'd recommend it to any romance book lover.

Once again Mr. Parker has written an amazing emotional book.
I have to say something specific about this author...he is so talented in the way that he writes and tells his stories it does nothing but make you feel, He sucks you in from the first sentence to the very last word . There is not a book that he has written that I have not totally fell for and I am so glad every time a new one comes out.
Hunter Altman has a troubled pass and he was able to escape it and become successful, however with that success comes a whole lot of personal issues. Angela is one of them...leaving her there is what he thought was best but as the story unfolds we learn differently. This story is a little darker from the author and I could not be more pleased...he teeters on the line of taboo and ALMOST WRONG.
A story of poverty, depression, abuse, riches, respect and love this one has it all. It does leave us on a bit of a cliffhanger but I look forward to what is next...as this Author is bound to up his game!!! Excellent read and great job to the author!!

I'm afraid this book was not for me.
It was okay, don't get me wrong. The writing was quite good.
However, throughout the book, I felt a huge disconnect with the characters, and the story. I simply didn't like the story. I did not like any of the characters. And even though there was repetition and nagging, I still did not get to know them.
I also didn't like the style. It was quite normal, dual POV, past and present, but then, they would tell what had happened. It needed more dialogue. It needed a lot of revision in my opinion. Too repetitive.
I was so confused the entire time. Such a big difference from the writer I adored in the Harem series and Gagged. And then, at then end, I read that this book was actually, sort of written before, and re-written. But the plot was basically this. So then, it kind of made sense to me.
It just wasn't my favorite.

I disliked this book because there was no rhyme or reason to anything. The non-linear story telling also did not help. The writing didn't pull me in and when I finished I wondered wth I had read. All that Hunter did in the end, he could've done from the beginning. His so called friend never had his best interests at heart and that was clear from beginning. Hunter didn't come across as very mature either. He still seemed to be a little boy, easily led. Angela wasn't painted in a much better light. She was pathetically weak and I couldn't dredge up any sympathy for her. She was essentially a puppet and she hadn't toughened up a bit in the years without Hunter. I've read better step-brother romances.

The story of Angela et Hunter step siblings.
At age 18 Angela, Hunter 19 realize they have feelings for each other. He leaves her.
Angela for the next 10 years takes on the burden of her mom et step- dad, who both have addictive backgrounds she pays rent, takes care of house, shopping doing it all. Hunter meanwhile is making a name for himself et loads of money as in Billions.
A birthday card brings him to her. Can they get past the step thing ?
Can he not be a jerk, will Angela forgive him his womanizing ?
What about parents ?, It's a definite recommend

I'm not a total novice when it comes to Aubrey's books anymore, I've read the Harem series and this book is loosely connected by characters, but the story itself is intelligent and thoughtful. He's leading us to his new world of The Trillionaire Boys' Club after having introduced some of the players in his previous books. I for one am in awe, it never ceases to amaze me how authors who do this keep everything straight, the characters, the events...I'm very excited, everything up to this point has felt like foreplay. Thank you Aubrey for these stories that are more substance, more intelligent, more emotional...I'm ready! Let's do this!

Where do I begin? Should it be with telling you about the masterfully written characters or the soul consuming story or maybe about the emotional rollercoaster you'll be taken on during Hunter and Angela's story??? No, instead I'll just say, If you want a book that will draw you in from the very first page, have you feeling a wide variety of emotions along the way, leave you hot and bothered in places but finish it such a way that you'll want to go back and read it all over again? Then this is the book for you

I couldn't wait to finally read Hunter's book and I was hooked from page 1. From rags to riches Hunter seems like he has it all but he's missing 1 thing or should I say someone. When Hunter gets a birthday card from his family especially Angela it brings back all his memories and goes to see her. They want each, they need each, can they finally have each other? I love all of Aubrey's book and am never disappointed.

I was given an ARC for an honest review. When I read about Hunter in Hotel Indigo...I could not stand him and when I started to read this book, I didn't feel much different. Arrogant playboy who just didn't seem to care about anything but dipping his wick...but oh how my feelings changed as the book went on. Hunter and Angela's story kept me glued to the book until I finished. Is he the pr*ck he is portrayed to be? How will their story end?

Aubrey Parker has that something special that lets you know she loves to write. She has the ability to make her characters come alive on the page and you can't help but care about them. Ms. Parker weaved a beautiful story of anger, abuse, resentment, forgiveness, respect, over-whelming emotions, and love. The story-line was well done and the cast of characters were well developed.

Finally, Hunters story. He's been in previous stories and was shrouded in mystery.
Hunter and Angela have a.long history. They were step siblings who began having feelings for each other, until Hunter leaves. Years later, he is a successful rich businessman, who never forgot her. And their reconnection is electric.

I'm a fan of Mr. Parker's books and I think they are getting better and better.
Hunter and Angela's story was hard for me to put down because I kept wanting to see them work things out. I'm excited about the potential for Hunter to cross paths with Caspian down the road.....that means I have more to look forward to!

Hunter left home at 18 and Angela hated him for it. When he returns years later, has anything changed between thee two? Hunter is a billionaire but is he still the same as he was? I enjoyed this story of finding from inside what makes us happy and looking for the best in others. Angela and Hunter have a story I enjoyed reading about.

I enjoyed this story about Hunter and Angela! It's a step-sibling, second chance romance! It has a good storyline and characters! This is the second book I have read by this author and I really enjoy their writing style. I look forward to more stories from them!

Almost wrong is a rags to riches story but it is more than that too. This book is an all around great book. Im left wanting more!! I'm looking forward to the next series!!
