For many of us, religion is something we do one day of the week or on special occasions. Spirituality, making a personal connection to our beliefs, rarely even comes into the picture. That is why when I was so intrigued when so many of the healers, elders, and traditional knowledge presented in this book stated that spirituality is involved in everything we do, everyday. How we live our lives, the decisions we make, our goals, and our attitudes all stem from how we view the world. Therefore, if we aren't aware of our own spirituality we are basically flying around without any sort of direction. I think this is a pretty remarkable thought in such a chaotic world.

Listening With Your Heart is filled with all sorts of Native knowledge in the form of thoughts, sayings, and poems representing a variety of traditional cultures. Moreover, this book also includes a good outline of native healing philosophies and a handful of useful herbs and that can be used to treat various ailments from bad breath to colic.
