It’s been a while since I read a gory thriller, but when I picked up Aggravated Momentum by Didi Oviatt, I knew I would be thrust in the middle of something deliciously vicious. Did you see that cover? Blood, death and pain. And does this book deliver! Earlier this year I read another one of her thrillers, and while it was definitely an intense ride, this one was even more of a suspenseful punch… probably because we actually hear thoughts occurring in the serial killer’s head a few times. But pe ...more

The book started with a great prologue, a murder scene: a girl killed by her lover - this intrigued me, my heart rate jumped higher. I love a good whodunit, don't I?

The story then went on to tell us the lives of 2 sisters Markie and Kam. And soon people around Markie started dropping dead like flies to the point that she was scared to leave home. And soon the killer struck again closer to family...

Aggravated Momentum was probably one of the quickest, raciest reads for me in 2018. It started off with murderous excitement and the momentum not even once fizzled out.

Markie, a movie theatre manager, has already lost her best friend to a horrific murder when the killer strikes again, right across the street from her home. Needless to say, the detectives and news reporters are aplenty but that doesn’t mean anyone is safe from being the next victim.

Adding another layer of intrigue is Markie’s fam

Well, it’s probably in poor taste to call a book about a serial killer ‘great fun’, but it was! It’s quick, edgy and very twisty. Yes, I said twisty, as in there are many unexpected twists that made it a really fun read, and a good distraction during a rough patch in my personal life (Thanks Didi!).

Aggravated Momentum has all the goodies a thriller should have, and then some. Which in my opinion, separates the cookie-cutter types with the good ones. I highly recommend this one fellow readers, an

Markie is still reeling over her best friend Beth’s death eighteen months prior. Beth was viciously murdered in her home and the perpetrator has never been caught. Little did Markie realize that the killer would strike again closer to home this time and would cause Markie to lose even more people that she loved. The killer has been stalking Markie for a long time and he is not done making her suffer. Will Markie and the police figure out who the killer is before he makes Markie his last and fina ...more

Aggravated Momentum is the second book by Ms. Oviatt that I’ve read and enjoyed. The story is a dark, psychological thriller that begins with a gruesome murder scene in the shower, revealing insight into the killer’s modus operandi. At the story’s onset, we meet the main characters Markie and her sister Kam, while Markie dresses for a blind date she’s reluctant to attend. Before she truly gets to know Vincent, Markie receives a distressing call from Kam. Leaving the date early, she arrives at he ...more

Aggravated Momentum is definitely my kind of story. Suspenseful thrillers will always have a place in my heart and Didi Oviatt has written a really awesome one!

I absolutely loved the character building in this story. Didi Oviatt is clearly talented when creating characters who are intriguing and realistic. I loved how the situations they were put in revealed more about their personalities. I'm a sucker for books with fantastic characters, and this is probably why I loved Aggravated Momentum so m

I received a free review copy of ‘Aggravated Momentum’ by Didi Oviatt in return for an honest review. Okay, first things first, I loved this book. It took me on a real rollercoaster of emotions and the two twists caught me by complete surprise. The pacing of the story and the way certain key plot points are revealed to you make for an exhilarating and fast read.

‘Aggravated Momentum’ is an adult thriller, a ‘murder mystery’ type story that reminded me of ‘Dark Places’ by Gillian Flynn. It’s writt

Didi Oviatt, the author of Aggravated Momentum, developed a strong, fascinating cast of characters in this thrilling fictional work. Markie is a young single woman who has been greatly affected by the murder of her best friend, Beth. Her sister, Kam, is supportive, yet challenges her to end the grieving and get back into the world of nightclubbing and dating. As more tragedies occur in Markie’s life, the fear and complications continue to build into

I generally don't like first person present for books, but this one works. I'm a huge fan of thrillers and this one definitely sets a good pace. It had just enough violence in it without going over the top. I mean, you can't have a book about a serial killer without some kind of violence right?

One of the biggest things I didn't like was that after a while it starts to switch to different POVs. It would have made a bigger reveal of who the killer was and a few various twists if it hadn't jumped i

Put on your seatbelt and hold on tight because this novel is one hell of a roller coaster ride! There are more twists and turns I never saw coming.

As you can tell by the gorgeous cover, it is about murder -- a serial murderer at that. It has great pacing and once I started reading it, could not put it down. It was wonderfully unpredictable, I had to know what was going to happen next! Didi did an amazing job building suspense and giving just enough back story that you don't know who to trust.

I am a big fan of thrillers and mysteries so I had to give this one a try. I'm glad I did because it was a great book. I don't usually like when books are told from multiple (more than 2) points of view but in some instances, like this one, it does help the story line.
The story line itself was great. The book draws you in from the very first few pages and there are no slow parts to let you get bored of reading. It keeps you interested and invested in what happens to the characters. When I got t

I don't read that many thrillers, since I tend to find them rather formulaic. This book manages to build up great suspense and intrigue while creating an interesting bunch of characters. It reminds me a bit of the classic Scream / I know what you did last summer movies.
By using the first person to tell the story from the point of view of several of the characters, the author really manages to get inside their heads.
Fed up of the run of the mill thrillers churned out by some of the big names in

Thank you to R&R Book Tours for providing me with a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book jumps right in with the murder in the prologue. I mean that was probably one of the best prologues I have read in a while and I was immediately hooked. I couldn't read it fast enough.

I loved this book. I had so many emotions while reading it ranging from feeling sorry, to being annoyed, anger, and hatred. It's written in multiple POVs which caught me off guard at first. The book starts out fro

Okay, so I’m not a fan of thrillers and the only author I read that writes thrillers is Didi so yeah she gets 5 dragon paws from me.

This is a fast-paced, suspenseful book with multiple point of views (all of them are different and perfect). Didi can create really ‘sick’ characters like when I was in the mind of the killer, I wanted to strangle him myself. He was such an ass but ver

Didi Oviatt is an intuitive soul. She’s a wife and mother first, with one son and one daughter. Her thirst to write was developed at an early age, and she never looked back. After digging down deep and getting in touch with her literary self, she's writing mystery/thrillers like Search For Maylee, Aggravated Momentum, The Stix, and New Age Lamians. Along with a six- piece short story collection ca ...more
