As far as story ideas go, Raphael's Fling isn't a bad book. I liked the premise of the story and was looking forward to meeting Raphael and Mia. Unfortunately, the execution didn't work for me. What could've been an emotional read felt disconnected and distant. I never connected with either main character and towards the end, I have to admit I kind of gave up caring.

I also found the Parisian setting/English language combo odd. I love books set outside of the United States, b

When stating this book I found myself lost at times. Mia was supposed to be from Europe but when reading it felt like she was from the US. And then there are times I was thinking I was experiencing a flash back on how Mia and Raphel started their fling and then boom I'm all of a sudden reading present time. It was hard for me to keep up. And for me I never got fell in love with them as a couple. It just wasn't there for me. The thing with her parents and the religious beliefs felt like over kill ...more

I really enjoyed this book, and was very pleasantly surprised. Mia, had a fling with Raphael, the CEO of the company where she was employed. That is the bare bones of the book.

This book was so much more. There were unexpected twists and turns. There were surprising layers to Raphael. You got to experience the full gambit of Mia's emotions while she worked through her relationships with Raphael and her parents. Eva had a great relationship with her sister and a solid relationship with her parents

This was my first book by this author and I will say that it really wasn't a bad read. I say that because reading through the reviews many people didn't like it. It was a little disappointing how Mia handled some things but thankfully she fixed it in the end. I won't say much else. It would really ruin the last part of the book. I'm just glad they got their happily ever after.

the two best things about this book is first it was short and second I got it in a boxed set. I was so let down by this book. I found it ridiculous. It really made me question if the author understands love. I say that with a heavy heart. The couple just made me want to weep. For starters Mia Stoll was a weak h, IMO. She is in love with our H Raphael but afraid if she tells him he will leave her. They are just a booty call to the other or so they say. This was the beginning of my confusion. I ha ...more

Good, French, Fun!

What I loved most about Raphael is that he had the sexy, playboy vibe going WITHOUT being a jerk! He was sweet and caring without being "tamed" or boring. Even when he committed to one woman, he never lost his character.

I loved the story of how Raphael and Mia met, and Mia's strength and independence even though she was a goner for Raphael.

This was a fast, extremely enjoyable, treat to read.

Never thought I'd read the word 'gangbang', in a book, as many times as I did with this tale.

I loved this book! It is now one of my favorites by Alix. It was a true love story that had me rooting for the couple throughout the book. Raphael D'Arcy owns and is the CEO of D'Arcy Consulting. He is known as a womanizer and never staying with a woman more than a couple of times. He is rich and good looking. All his female employees are trying to hook up with him. The company has a Christmas party where everyone must dress up. Mia, who's is working on her Ph.D and working at D'Arcy Consulting ...more

4.5 Stars!

Raphael and Mia meet at an office party while in costume. They don't exchange their real names and Mia has no idea that Raphael is the CEO of the company. When Raphael reaches out a few weeks later, a secret relationship ensues. In the meantime, someone from Mia's past is scheming to blackmail her due to a sordid college event. In order to keep this past event secret from her "religious" parents and Raphael, Mia makes some life-altering decisions.

Oh, how I love Raphael. His personality

Ah. poor Mia. She is a seemingly self-aware, intelligent doctoral candidate working at a low-level job in Paris to pay the tuition. She has a loving, very moral, religious family in Alsace, a rather provincial area near Germany and Switzerland. Her mom is a pastor. Her love life will certainly cause misunderstandings.Raphael D'Arcy, is a wunderkind auditor, from an aristocratic family. He is of course, exceedingly wealthy (he created a billion dollar audit firm). achingly beautiful and muscular, ...more

Title: Raphael's Fling
Author: Alix Nichols

3.5 - 4 unexpected stars

Alix Nichols loves her Paris settings and it shows when she writes her books since the description of the area seems so incredibly vivid that you'd swear you were there. Raphael's Fling is a small conundrum for me, especially considering that the last novels I've read by her was her La Boheme series which encompasses the true Parisian experience - I wasn't too sure if I should be reading a story about an American's view in Par

This is such a great book! It is descriptive and touches your heart.

This book is about Mia. She meets Raphael at a Christmas party without knowing. She starts a "fling" and falls head over heels with him. She not one of those women who think they can change her. She's different from all the other women who throw themselves at him. Raphael is rich, gorgeous and a ladies' man. All women that he encounters always throw themselves at them. This book is a fun and sexy read with a great story- line that kept you turning the pages. Mia and Raphael begin a fling after they meet at a costume company Christmas party. Neither one of them is looking for a relationship, but can't stay away from each other. I love the chemistry between Mia and Raphael. Things become interesting when her past comes back to haunt her and she is being blackmailed. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to her n

Raphael's Fling by Alix Nichols is a sexy contemporary romance that will entice many. It hooked me from page one. I was entertained. The plot was fast and held my attention immediately. I was drawn into the drama and realistic scenes. After having read Find You in Paris, I was looking forward to reading this new title. It was just as hot.

Inside this title, I met Raphael d'Arcy. He's an alpha male that can make any woman swoon on spot. His sexy looks and money make every woman want him. However,

A charming, heartfelt read told in first person that I couldn't put down once I picked it up.

Mia is pursing her doctorate degree in Paris, but she still works to pay the bills. She never intended to begin a relationship, actually that was the last thing she ever wanted to do, her studies took up most of her free time, but somehow she ended up deep in an affair with her boss. Well, not technically her boss, but the CEO of the company, so the big, big, BIG boss. Raphael d'Arcy himself.

Can a recidivist playboy finally find love?

This is the second book in the Darcy Brothers series, and continues to build on the people and friends of the La Boheme eatery books.

Mia Stoll is assistant to the daily bulletin editor at D’Arcy Consulting and Audit. She’s made a couple of decent mistakes in her life, the least of them being involved in an affair that violates her own personal code of honour – sleeping with the boss. The BIG mistake, from five years ago in college, is her own personal s

This is a continuation of the first in the series, with characters from the first book appearing in this one too. However, you do not have to have read the first book to enjoy this one.

This second book is all about the Casanova d’Arcy brother, Raphael. More playful than the first, beginning with the hilarious way our hero and heroine meet in the story—dressed as Olaf the snowman and Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer at a Christmas party—we get a unique love story. It starts as a secret office flin

Talk about a funny but oh so sexy straight forward guy who doesn't hide the fact that he's Paris' biggest playboy. Raphael d'Arcy also freely admits he doesn't want a relationship, and definitely doesn't want to get married. He's got everything, money, career and any woman he wants, what else is there?
Mia is working for D’Arcy Consulting and Audit (aka DCA), as the assistant to the daily bulletin editor, while she finishes her doctoral program. She surely doesn't ever have any intent

Another D'Arcy brother to fall in love with!

The first time Mia sees Raphael, they're both in silly costumes and she starts to fall for him, not knowing he runs the company she works for.
Raphael is known for his playboy ways and vows never to settle down. When Mia's past comes back to haunt her, she has to make some tough choices, regarding her work, life and Raphael.
I loved this book as much as the first one, but in its own way. I love how Mia is strong-willed and could care less about Raphael's

Oh what a fling!

First off, this book was not nearly long enough. I want so much more of these characters. I want so much more of this couple.

I quickly fell for Raphael. His is everything a woman would want, wrapped in one tight little package. Smart, funny, hard working, sexy, good in the sack. All around perfect. Except for one simple fact. He never intends to settle down. He doesn't date. He doesn't stay with anyone for very long. He doesn't see marriage and kids in his future.

I received a free book and voluntarily chose to review it. Everyone knows how office romances go in books and how they go in real life. Lately, it seems as if I pick all the sad books to review. There was a short bit of sadness, but I survived it. It is a well written, flowing nicely book with Mia’s circumstances being realistic.
Reviews from the Heart (Kimberly Anne)
You never know who you may meet at an office Christmas Party! It could be the your boss dressed as a Snowman! It could be somebody who will wisk you away on a Private Jet for a getaway weekend!

Mia and Raphael were both looking for a "no strings attached" relationship. Each wanted to just have fun and enjoy each other's company without entanglements. It is not a great idea to date the boss for several reasons. Mia knew that the company she worked for had rules against co-workers dating. Raphael

This is the second book that I have read from Alix Nichols and she definitely did not disappoint. Raphael's Fling has a great storyline with well developed characters, and again, I just did not want the book to end!

The Book Junkie Reads . . .
A holiday fling that encompassed much more than your average short term relationship. There was a bit of drama, humor, mystery, and of course passion, lust, and then some. Mia preached to her sister about life’s issues with lusting for your boss. Only to find that her one night with a stranger would turn in to her boss and the possibility of more. A fling was proposed and things just take off from there. I found the focus to be on Mia. This was her story and the way she handled life.

I am an unabashed fan of Alix Nichols' novels. Each is more delightful than the last--regardless of in which order you may read them. Her heroines are smart and sassy, her heroes equally smart--although not necessarily about relationships. And they are set in Paris.

Reared by loving but strict and religious parents, Mia cannot fathom how to tell them of her fall from grace while in college plus the further situation in which she now finds herself; and now the merde is about to fly. Interweaving s
