these days so many delicious books have been coming my way and on top of that i have been finding it very difficult not to declare each and everyone of them "the best book 'i' have ever read." the strangeness is that they seem to all be magically and organically linked somehow. even though they are all dealing with different subject matters, they all appear to arrive at the same place. it's as if there was a homing device implanted in the muse. this book reminded me of Neal Donald Walsh's Conversaciones Con Dios. i read that entire book all in one sitting. and it was quite the sitting indeed. it's rare that i will pick up a book and start to read it in the bathroom. i am not really that type of reader or bathroom user. and it's even rarer that i will read the ENTIRE book on the toilet at 7am with a heart full of gin. of course i'm not saying that there is a right or a wrong way to read any type of book. i just feel that it's interesting to point out the manner in which walsh's book and i conducted our relationship. it was as if i was accosted by some stranger in a roadside pit stop and it was all over before i could even begin to understand why i had enjoyed myself so much. pardon me while i create another loop here, but in the book i am reading now that is a story about a man named robert anton wilson wrestling ferociously and as cunningly as his own neurology allows with bizarre entanglements of languages that all presuppose some sort of 'true' or 'deeper' reality, and by languages i mean paradigms, or models if you would, while holding himself in check as the faulty instrument in question that he 'knows' he cannot possibly 'know' anything at all... i find myself really enjoying books like conversations with god which i mentioned earlier reminded me of i come as a brother. i like when people use the word 'resonate'. i can't remember if either of those books used that word a lot, but i wouldn't be surprised if they did.. because when i let myself go back to how a book like this makes me FEEL, the word 'resonate' comes to mind very quickly. like a warm buttery golden glow just humming over the back of your neck and then slowly down your spine until it hits the very base and just bursts with hot flashy energy throughout your bloodstream. every branch and leaf of your body is just wiggling with this insane mercury. thank goodness only for a second as now it is cooling off and the attention then goes back down and before we try to force ourselves to feel something else we become distracted by this freshly baked bread just risen out of the oven because even though the 'world' is constantly moving around us everything is in it's right place at every single one of these moments as it all moves, yes, but what you are is moving too. you are nothing more than an awareness and that is nothing more that the entire universe.
ADVICE FROM ‘AN ENERGY THAT MAKES [YOU] MORE ALIVE’
Mary-Margaret Moore wrote in the Introduction to this 1986 book, “let’s start with how it feels for me to be a ‘channel’ for what is called a ‘higher’ and ‘wiser’ level of energy named Bartholomew. I begin by sitting quietly, calming myself through breathing… Next, I set my intention… Then I wait.. In a few seconds the power begins to build around and in my body… The space around me becomes silently alive… When that feeling has grown to a certain intensity, I ‘know’ that we are ready to begin. I open my eyes… Then quietly, the energy moves between you and me and forms a sort of invisible roadway that we can move back and forth across…. My awareness moves into that darker area, and ‘looks around,’ and then words begin to flow.” (Pg. i-ii)
She continues, “The chapters of this have been taken primarily from public meetings which have a bit of a different flow about them than does a private meeting… my awareness seems to expand until all of the people in the hall are in that awareness. When that has been done, the words begin to come. I state the subject that has been selected the moment before, and then begin moving around ‘in’ that subject area… because I am still learning my craft, I sometimes find myself disoriented by the overwhelming beauty of possibilities. So the first few moments are often choppy and hesitant. But soon I settle down and find my way to where the combined energies of the people in the room most need to have me travel. There is a human element still present here in that I am NOT in a trance nor have I been ‘taken over’ by some separate entity. My consciousness is very much present but my sense of ego seems to fall into the background and let this bolder, faster moving energy lead the way.” (Pg. ii-iii)
She asks (and then answers), “now do we make sense of contradicting answers given to the same question? The answer I am about to give rests on one of the most basic understandings that I have gained from the Bartholomew energy---that there is no such thing as TRUTH in the way that we think of it. It seems that we humans expect to walk down a linear road called ‘life’ … [where] we will find in front of us an immense ‘Book of Truth,’ before which we will sit ant absorb its wisdom… But my work has shown me another view, one that I find more exciting, alive, and possible... When you ask a question… the answer given to one person must differ from the one given to any other person, because any given response s a part of YOUR totality, which is unique and beautiful.” (Pg. iii)
She adds, “The … most asked question: who, or what, is Bartholomew? My answer has to be, ‘I don’t know and I really don’t care.’ I do what I do, in partnership with this energy, because over the years I have found it to be helpful to myself and to others… I have come to know and absolutely trust whoever or whatever this energy may be. I believe it to have the utmost love and concern for ‘others’ while providing practical tools for making our journey ‘home’ more alive and creative. But there are a few things I can truthfully say… [about] what Bartholomew is: … It is an energy that makes me more alive, expanded, and loving… This energy has a vast range of perception. Past and future are bridged with ease… The energy has a spiritual flavor… This energy’s concerns are with giving us tools to awaken from the illusion of our separateness from the One… Bartholomew has come as a brother… to remind us all … that we see an illusory world of separation, and it causes pain. But we… and to the rest of the Createdness, have within us the ability to know the One. And it seems to be Bartholomew’s loving job to remind us that we created the illusion and we, Thank God, can end them.” (Pg. iv)
‘Bartholomew’ states, “What you consider love is instead a movement of attraction. And with attraction comes repulsion. The two exist together… It is a naïve assumption that because you have a great feeling for someone, the feeling is ‘love.’ … So let us go into what love is NOT. Love is not something that goes on and off light a light bulb. It is not something that one day you have and the next day you do not. That is not love, it is emotion… until the glamour and falseness are seen for what they are, and you become aware of your true feeling tones toward the important people in your life, you will not know what love is.” (Pg. 1-2)
He says, “Enlightened ones are very rarely holy. In fact, they are often so outrageous that people look on them as crazy. And what is this quality that makes them appear crazy? They do what they ARE MOVED to do, and leave you to deal with your reaction to it! They have the capacity to just BE HUMAN. You can tell how close to Enlightenment you are by asking the question: How many people in my life do I allow to be anyway they might wish, under any circumstance, no matter what the appearances may be? Enlightenment is nothing more than the realization that there is only One---that concepts of good and bad have no meaning.” (Pg. 13)
He explains, “Many of you who know Mary-Margaret well, no doubt have asked, ‘Why was SHE picked for this job?’ There is a reason which she probably doesn’t even remember. As a young girl living on a small island in the Pacific… It occurred to her that she was in a community filled with diversified religions that she needed to make sense of if she was to fit in… out of her Awareness came the conviction … that in order to reconcile this dilemma, she must answer… how can a person, alone on an island, with no books, no friends, nothing but himself or herself, find God? This became the basis for her search. And what I have to say today is the answer to the question she presented to herself those many years ago…” (Pg. 35)
He asserts, “You have created your fears and why do you fear what you have created? Please face the fact that the demons of your life are created by you, for then you will have the courage to face them. What you create, you are willing to face. As long as you put the power of the creation onto some god outside yourself, you are afraid to look… No God created your devils, so get about the business of looking.” (Pg. 49)
He notes, “The best game ego has is the spiritual game. This game is incredibly powerful because it makes you superior to everyone around you. Why? Because you are seeking God. And everyone knows that to seek God is the highest good. So… you feel powerful, stronger and wise, more and more holy, until finally you find the people around you can’t stand you. You are so holy that your very presence makes them guilty… Remember, there are no rules for anyone Enlightenment happens when it happens…” (Pg. 63)
He observes, “If those with the power and the wisdom of the Christ could capture the hearts of so few, why do you think that you should be able to do better? It is not possible, and it is not necessary. Your life does not need to have total acceptance to be totally beautiful. There is only one pace where you need acceptance to make your life beautiful---and that is acceptance of yourself, exactly as you are!” (Pg. 80)
He contends, “The doctrine of eternal punishment is perhaps the most crippling doctrine on the earth plane. It is the greatest travesty against the Createdness that I know of. It is simply NOT TRUJE but is has put tremendous fear into your psyche. No matter what you have created, once the power is removed, the form passes away and you are not responsible until the ‘third generation.’” (Pg. 94)
He advises, “If your guru or teacher makes you feel impotent and helpless, look again at what you have committed to. It is the disciple’s responsibility to analyze the relationship that they have with any teacher… It is also the disciple’s responsibility to be watching carefully how that relationship is going. It that relationship is turning into one of utter dependence… then I think you must question the source.” (Pg. 114)
He suggests, “So, if we talk about the Comforter in energy terms and not as some kind of stereotypical form, we will be able to bypass your preconceptions about it. The minute we say ‘form’ we are in trouble… So when I ask you to dwell on the Comforter, please, no form, just Knowing.” (Pg. 168-169)
This book will interest many of those who enjoy ‘channeled’ teachings.
Absolutely amazing!! Don’t think I could even summarize this book but it’s a must read for anyone looking to connect with your soul. Definitely need an open mind.
