CW: Mention of Rape, Brittany cusses out two people
This is my first and only Trinity Blood novel I have in my possession, and I would love to get more of them when I can. But for now i’m going to review the only book I have, and hope and pray that one day I can get more.
So this light novel is about AX Agent Abel Nightroad coming to the city of Istavan, a city where he was going to be a priest of a local church, Saint Matthias. When he gets there, he has to deal with the City Police, which is run by one Gergey Radcon, who is a horrible piece of shit who nearly (and I mean this) NEARLY raped Esther in the trainstaton, which is really fucked up. Thank god for Tres, who stopped it. After that horrible piece of shit ruins Abel and Esther’s day, they go to Saint Matthias Church, which is run by Bishop Vitez. Abel settles down...and that’s when the shit goes DOWN.
The Istavan City Police and the Partisans engage in a all-out war in the streets, and the Marquess of Hungary, Guyla Kadar (sounds like a dick, and he does, but keep reading), and he wants to get revenge on the Terrans that somehow killed his wife.
I’m sorry, kid....DRACULA FROM CASTLEVANIA DID IT BETTER. You had a fucking “ace” up your sleeve called the Star of Sorrow, and you thought that’ll help...awe, poor baby, bless your dead heart….but I’m sorry. DRACULA. THE DRACULA TEPES FROM CASTLEVANIA DID REVENGE BETTER, CLASSIER AND BETTER THAN YOU. Yes, your excuse was to get revenge on the people that killed your wife, but did you actually go down there, travel like a human and EXPERIENCED human life? No, you probably sat up in your fancy-smancy castle, drink your fancy-smancy blood wine, whatever the hell it is you drink, and when you heard about what happened to your wife, what did you do? Throw a fuckin’ hissy fit, use the Star for your revenvge, only to get it taken away like a bitch and have it being controled by ya boy, Dietrich, WHOM I ALSO HATE AS A PASSION, BUT OMG HE GIVES ME A WHOLE LOT OF NIKOLAI (not Lanstov, because Nikolai is better than this piece of shit, but my oc demon) VIBES GOOD LORD.
About Dietrich von Lohengrin...first off, he’s a sly dog (not like our boy Nikolai) and he pretends to be friends and help Esther with her cause...only to betray her, saying that he loves her and that he’d do anything for her...but he uses some kind of control mechanism to fucking control her, making her shoot poor Abel, WHO DIDN’T DO A DAMN THING TO THEM, really, he’s a good boy, damn, and then turns around and betrays Guyla, as he fucking deserves.
And when Tres shot Radcon after he DISGUSTINGLY fucking says what he did to Bishop Vitez (like, he says thirty men raped her….VERY FUCKING DISGUSTING)...I was so glad that he shot him and took him in, because I really, REALLY fucking hate him because he’s a cruel son of a bitch and I wanted him dead the moment I saw him.
All in all, this was a really good book, all except the mention of rape that made me put the book down and make me go “WTF”. I also loved the characters (Abel, Tres, Caterina, the young Pope, Esther) and hated a lot of them (Francesco, Dietrich, Radcon, Guyla). I wish I had more of these books so I can read all of them, but maybe one day I’ll read them.

Este libro me lo compre sin saber muy bien que esperar de el, cuando lo empecé a leer me esta pareciendo un poco aburrido, pero cuando pase las cien paginas se puso interesante. Es cierto que a lo largo del libro hay muchísimos plot twist, cosa me gusta pero al mismo tiempo la manera de hacerlo o lo que implicaban estos plot twist no me ha gustado.
Por todo ello siento amor odio con este libro, por un lado me gusta la trama y los personajes, pero hay ciertas cosas que a pesar de ser fantasía me parecen demasiado, y lo que me ha llevado a pensar que el autor de la obra tenia demasiado aprecio a ciertos personajes lo que le ha llevado a crear estos plot twist.
Este libro se ha llevado 3 estrellas por que a pesar de que me guste la trama, hay ciertas cosas que no me cuadran y la manera de escribir del autor no me ha convencido, ya que me parecía por así decirlo de manera mas coloquial, desordenada.

Me pareció una trama central original, después de un gran apocalipsis, donde la humanidad casi es exterminada, quedan pocas ciudades y las guerras son entre terranos o humanos en liderazgo no solo religioso, sino político y social del Vaticano, y los Mathusalem o Vampiros, hay avances tecnológicos importantes, tenemos robots que casi parecen humanos, tenemos vampiros aliados de los humanos, y otros aspectos diferentes; pero más allá de eso, la manera como es narrada, como interactuar en ocasiones los personajes, como nos hacen cambio de escenario, es deficiente, simple y con poca gracia o estructura narrativa, no se, esta entretenida por su trama, pero no creo que esté muy bien narrada y la manera como se concluye es por momentos caótica. No seguiré la saga.

Este libro es casi un recordatorio de cómo una persona puede cambiar por algo, y por sobretodo el efecto dominó que ese cambio conlleva.

Con este volumen comienzo mi tercera relectura de la saga de novelas ligeras Trinity Blood. La trama es trepidante, misteriosa y seductoramente adictiva. Es imposible dejar de leer hasta concluir el último capítulo.

На самом деле началось мое знакомство с этой вселенной с аниме, но его было мало и тут мне в руки попало несколько переводов. Вампиры, будущее технологии, магия построенная на науке, супер-оружие, инквизиция и много чего еще представляют собой впечатляющий микс. Мир, который создал автор, обалденный, я жалею только о том, что это лайт новеллы и там очень мало деталей, потому что хочется узнать об этом постапокалиптическом пространстве еще больше. Но в остальном краткость, как говориться, сестра таланта, деталей мало, но они очень красочные и удачные, большую часть истории приходиться буквально читать между строк. Хотя для хорошей истории есть весь набор, интересный сюжет, яркие персонажи, и насыщенность событиями. Никто не идеален, все ошибаются, ошибки приводят к последствиям с которыми приходиться считаться.
"Звезда скорби" показывает нам первую встречу Авеля и Эстер и в книге эта история описана немного мрачнее чем в той же манге или аниме, но правдоподобнее я думаю. Хотя вампира мне в любом варианте этой истории жаль, в книжном особенно.

Esta novela ligera es un poco mejor que su predecesora, Desde el Imperio (que es el inicio de la otra saga paralela). Pero tampoco la supera por mucho. Es importante la aparición de Esther, que posteriormente será un personaje importante en la saga. La trama es aceptable, aunque nuevamente hay un abuso de situaciones en que Abel llega justo a tiempo, pero un "justo a tiempo" dudoso, porque en la espera siempre hay víctimas inocentes que no lo logran. Si es tan poderoso podría hacerlo mejor, ¿no?
Aunque es entretenido, la ligereza de la novela, los diálogos simples y poco profundos, el poco desarrollo de la historia y las descripciones demasiado sucintas juegan en contra. Tal vez lo más rescatable de la novela es Gyula, un villano que esconde un motivo para su maldad.

Aunque esta es la tercera novela de Sunao Yoshida que he leído, esta es la primera novela de la serie y al leerla me he dado cuenta cuan bueno era la historia que Yoshida tejió. Desde el comienzo el no solamente entretiene al lector con un mundo extremadamente interesante pero también da una complejidad a la temática del conflicto que muestra una sofisticación pocamente observada en el mundo de ciencia ficción. Igualmente, Yoshida sabe dar el tempo perfecto para la trama, dando al lector poco a poco los detalles de este nuevo mundo y permitiendo que el lector quede siempre con más hambre de detalles pero sin llegar a exasperarse. Definitivamente lo recomiendo para todo aquel que disfruta de ciencia ficción.

A novelization of an existing anime, you could almost feel it in some of the dialog; you could really tell this was based on anime and even though I have seen nothing of the actual Trinity Blood series I could really picture it in my head as anime while I was reading. The premise on which the story is based is interesting and could very well make a good live action film if done right. The vampires of Trinity Blood have a more biological, scientific feel to them, rather than a supernatural explanation. It was certainly worth reading and has presented me with a future world worth reading more of.

Una historia llena de acción que en cierta forma me recordaron a Hellsing, tenemos los humanos luchando contra los vampiros y del lado de la humanidad, el Vaticano defendiéndonos de las fuerzas oscuras por medio de sus agentes, intrigas, maquinaciones y dobles caras abundan en el relato manteniéndonos en vilo y con ganas de saber a cada momento más y más. Es una historia corta que al estar repleta de acción se lee en un abrir y cerrar de ojos acompañada de hermosas ilustraciones. 100% recomendada sobretodo para los que les gusten este tipo de historias de vampiros y luchas a granel.

Trinity Blood is currently one of my favourite manga series' that I am following. Who couldn't love Abel Nightroad, such a loveable doofus that becomes the beautiful and seeming undefeatable Crusnik? So I decided to try the novels that have come out in this franchise.
This first volume is well translated, very readable and retells the first meeting and subsequent teaming up of Abel and Esther, the novice nun. I enjoyed it very much and I've already ordered the second volume :-)!

Una mierda de libro, sólo terminé de leerlo porque estaba muy pequeño.
Contiene todos los clichés del manga de vampiros: un protagonista torpe y buena onda con un enorme poder oculto, una chica coprotagonista sexy y un enemigo vampiro que sufre de la pérdida de su esposa y quiere vengarse de la humanidad.
Si Corín Tellado fuera japonesa seguro escribiría estas mamadas.

I only have seen this manga in the anime version. Reading this for the first time is quite a shocker, something that really got my eyes dragged into this series. From the beginning I saw some parts of the plot to be somewhat alike to the anime. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the manga :)

The story and art were great but sadly the writing style was distractingly bad at times - likely more the fault of a botched translation then of the actual author which is a shame. (This is more like 3.5 stars tbh but as you can't give half stars on Goodreads...)

Más un 3,75 que un 4. Los plot twist previsibles (todos), pero al menos es entretenido y, bueno, son vampiros japoneses ¿a quien no le gustan los vampiros japoneses? Es estilo, aún así, ha sido un poco caótico

While Esther was not one of my favorite characters in the anime, I did not feel quite the same animosity towards her when reading the books.
