A GIRL IN A TOWER, A CITY UNDER SIEGE, A MONSTER BENEATH IT ALL

Born in the grasslands of the Tsavanah, Ysaan Alluriah has known both joy and sorrow. When her world turns on its head, Ysaan finds herself in Zxe-Kotyare, far from everything and everyone she has ever known.
One night, when everything she holds dear hangs in the balance, Ysaan takes a chance that became the wo

Runespeaker was an engrossing, quick fantasy read. You do not receive all the information at the start or at a single point later on - it is given sparsely as the plot progresses and unravels. Never so much you lose your interest, or so little you get frustrated. This way, the story draws you in right from the start. The language it is written in feels completely natural, which is not always the case with fantasy. I love the magic in the wo

"Runespeaker" is a really fast-paced novella that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Mila N. Sankale's writing is very, very good - there are some beautifully painted scenes, as well as some dark happenings that are brought to vivid life by the skill of this author.

I did have a few problems, however - missing and superfluous words; missing and incorrect punctuation; and the wrong spellings used (for example: "wretch" instead of "wrench" and "chocked" instead of "choked").

I'm really looking forward to the next

I was sent "Runespeaker" by Mila N. Sankale in exchange for an honest review.

The book is told through Ysaan's point of view as she's been imprisoned for a murder she did not commit. However Ysaan is a Runespeaker, and as war approaches she is offered her freedom in exchange for her service.

Runespeaker is a quick read at 114 pages and I devoured it. Sankale's writing style is almost lyrical, and the story moved easily never giving too much or too little as Sankale builds her world and character

I absolutely loved this book, it is a fantasy read and the reader does not receive all the information right away but rather it is revealed slowly as the book progresses, which I really enjoyed as it kept my interest. I also really enjoyed the writing style as it hooked me quickly.
My only criticism is that I don't think that I knew the characters as well as I like to but that is simply as a result of the length which I thought was a little

This was a very well-written short book. It was a fantasy set in African-like (?) lands with a very diverse cast of characters. The story kept me engaged and the magic system, as well as the political one, was very complex. Maybe too much for a 147 pages. I got lost in the details sometimes and some things happened so quickly that I was like: wait...when did THIS happen?! It felt more like a long novella than a book per se but maybe the sequel will be more lengthy and clarify a few thi

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review.*

This was a brilliant and peculiar read! I enjoyed it, though that was a bit confusing. It was too descriptive and slow sometimes, so I got frustated many times. All in all, I adored the story and the characters. Ysaan is amazing and and she has an incredible strenght and power, and I feel like there will be some romance between her and Ivo. I liked the way the author use folklore and culture in this book, that are a big part of this novella

Runespeaker is a fantasy tale, with a world that had a mind, culture and history of its own. I enjoyed reading it, yet I felt like it was so preserved; a lot of beautiful details that needed more expansion. The runes, the old myths, the cities and the war...
The story was quick and made a point and I loved how the main character had this strong presence when we only got 147 pages to know her.

I'd love this book to be more, have mor

I was given an e-copy of Runespeaker (Bonesaw #.5) by author Mila N. Sankale for review.

Runespeaker is a short fantasy read which judging from the full title is a part of a series. Checking the authors goodreads page does in fact identify a Bonesaw #1.

Over all Runespeaker was an interesting read. We start out directly in the story with no set up, the story just is happening. Not a bad concept but a little confusing because we don't really get right away why the story is what it is. We have a cha
