In At Peace in the Light, Dannion Brinkley continues his unique spiritual exploration that began in his phenomenal national bestseller, Saved by the Light, where he revealed the two near-death experiences that left him with an extraordinary sense of perception. Here Brinkley describes, with absolute candor, his struggle to become accustomed to his disorienting psychic ability, and his decision to offer comfort to those dying in hospices.
In his poignant and personal style, Dannion shares heartwarming stories of his ability to give comfort where it is needed, and demonstrates that the dying often have enhanced psychic ability and a clarity of vision that can make death more graceful for everyone involved. He also shares lessons in achieving what he calls the panoramic life review, and instructs readers on awakening and enhancing their own skills of perception, while providing the language to deal with their own and their loved ones' mortality.
For the hundreds of thousands who found comfort and understanding in Saved by the Light, here is Dannion Brinkley's new message of inspiration, guidance, and the unlimited opportunity for spiritual growth and renewal.
Dannion Brinkley is an American author who described two near death experiences (NDEs) in his 1994 book Saved by the Light. He is also a hospice volunteer, speaker, and prominent figure in the New Age and New Thought Movement.
Dannion Brinkley's second novel about his near death experience and the work he has done since. I found the first novel a little better as this one tended to repeat alot of the info. from the first one. Still, it was an interesting read.

The book was a disappointment. Danion Brinkley did a decent job at describing his NDE. The reason why I rated his book with three stars, however, was that, through a good portion of the book, Danion Brinkley keeps going on about the Spiritual Centres that he had, allegedly, been instructed to build when he visited the Other Side. It sounded amazing, as well as intriguing, especially in this day and age when more and more people are turning towards spirituality and striving to improve themselves on that plane. However, when I googled Danion Brinkley and his Spiritual Centres, I got absolutely no information about these facilities. Towards the end of the book, I even got a little frustrated with his talk about them. I picked up this book in order to bare witness to a man's near death experience and learn what happens to a Soul ones it sheds its physical body. What I got, however, was a business planner and to be honest, it sounded as if the businessman had bitten off more than he can chew. NDEs intrigue me. After the death of my parents, they have even become sort of my hobby. It would be so nice to read a book that actually describes a person's experiences in Heaven (or Hell) instead of listening to their ramblings about their medical condition, their unhappy childhood and their new found faith (which often borders on religious fanatism), subsequent to their NDE.
His final book but he is now going on tours and this is going to be the basis for more books from Dannion! I love this book as his story is now mature and can really help you with finding your Mission from God. Thinking at the end that we could use more Bible verses that lead us to connect directly. The personal experiences and the help that he gave to individuals that may not have had a NDE but need the faith in why we are doing and feeling these things during this time. Easy to read and a very life altering potential in finding your way in this difficult time.
After having his first near-death experience, Dannion Brinkley was a changed man. And this book continues his journey after having his first two near-death experiences.
I read the first book only a week or two ago and loved it. It is a life changing book. This book is just as great, but I think I liked the first one more. This one is still a wonderful read.
It is really interesting to read how he has changed since first near-death experience. And I liked the stories he shared of his hospice work. I just think it is great he sits and talks with people and helps to lessen their fear of death. I think he is really doing great things.
I can't wait to meet Dannion in July. And if you've read the first one, I recommend this one as well.
I probably should have given this book 5 stars because it was well written, easy to read and, based on the author's experience, with which I cannot argue not having any knowledge on the subject, it is very informative.
What I like: It has no religious connection. This is what happens to everybody regardless of their religious beliefs. No "you were not a good [insert religion] and therefore you're going to hell". It is encouraging. We all will be taken care of in the after life. The life review. Yes, there will be some harsh lessons to learn and we will feel the feelings of those we hurt in our life. The author has no personal agenda. He'll make money from the book but he's not starting a cult or a sect. He probably would have made a lot more money on a 'fluffier' book.
I feel better about death and dying, although I don't necessarily want to go that way soon.
Dying people don't have much time or energy to talk. Yet more than anyone else, they have a deep need to wrap up issues in their lives. By using my psychic issues to get issues and feelings out in the open, I could help the dying and their loved ones face things that had bothered them for years, and thus heal psychological wounds before their deaths. As I sat there with my friend Peyser, I knew that his life was ending. At the same time, I knew that mine was beginning. Peyser had given me an insight that might never have arrived without him. My gift of intuition and my experience of dying was to be passed on to the dying. p91
Maybe I needed that constant motivation to keep me true to their goals. p11
