An inspirational and informative series of compact handbooks by the influential management guru and author of the best-selling In Search of Excellence sheds new light on key concepts in the business world and provides helpful guidance on how to achieve success in the high-pressure, fast-moving arena of modern business.
This seemingly thin and colourful book delivers a lot of serious ideas about personal brand building and the "talent of the future". Given that this was published in 2014-15, a lot of the predictions he has made here have already come true today. And that makes this book even more interesting. He emphasises on re-thinking about the valued corporate job/ career and shuns complacency but without preaching; instead, he quotes a lot of live examples (although, there is no detailed study for any) and several authors and also sketches out briefly what one can do to adopt the new ways to become the coveted talent of today (and the future).
This book should help you realize, if you haven't already, how the economy and workforce market has changed in the last two decades.
We're no longer living in times of cubicle farms where being loyal was mostly enough to guarantee you a lifelong relationship with a single corporation. Increasingly, people especially talented people, are living outside-the-box (or cubicle, if you will). Realizing this will help you align yourself better with the course of future professional career. Author Tom Peters is enthusiastically pointing out a number his realizations (I would mostly call facts) in a form of before-now comparisons. Assimilating those fact will help you get yourself and your talent busy sooner rather than later.

This is an easy read, heavily idiot-proof graphic layout so suitable for anyone.
A little light on content, composed mainly of sound-bites and homey quotations many of which are really not too applicable to the world of today. Written in the look-there-is-an-empty-space-fill-it-with-graphics style that many will find annoying as hell. There are diamonds in there, but like real diamond mines, you will have to shovel a lot of crap to get to the diamonds so read patiently.

An advice written in part slang part contemporary, relaxed manner, sometimes numbered, at times boldly, and rendered through colored pages. It was a good buy but remains undigested as is the case with such books.
