Can Dündar kitaplarını bir nefeste bitirilsinler diye yazıyor sanırım.

I think [Can Dundar's "We are arrested" book](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...) can be evaluated from several perspectives. First and foremost, I will say that I appreciate what Can Dundar sincerely did for this country. However, there are times and places where I have to be critical about his judgment and his journalism skills. In fact, the book revealed so much about his character even though whether he intended to show them or not. But let me approach all these thoughts under more ...more

The suppression of the freedom of the press in Turkey and elsewhere is a subject that I've been following with... hell, "alarm" would be an understatement... over these past years. This particular well-publicised case is one I remember hearing about at the time, in the winter of 2015/16, so I was doubly interested in reading Can Dündar's own account of these events. Well worth the read, both for its subject and importance and for the occasionally truly beautiful and poetic turns of phrase.

Can Dündar a teşekkür ederim.

.İnsanların haber alma, gazetecilerin haber yapma özgürlüğü..Ve bunun için verdiği mücadeleyi okuyoruz Can dündar'ın.

"It's not countries that connect people but their principles: Freedom, democracy, human rights, secularity and justice... Where they are absent, that land could never be our 'country'. Solidarity with the family of humankind helps us free the land where we live from domestic despots and join the free world.

Can Dündar and Erdem Gül are arrested for publishing an article about a crime the government committed. Kept in isolation for a time while awaiting trial, Can writes and thinks and worries. The book includes handwritten notes, some pages that capture his pacing around his room, drawings, and photos (mostly of newspaper he was editor-in-chief of.)

Can Dündar and Erdem Gül are held in pre-sentencing solitary confinement for reporting about a Turkish government military crime. This book is the story of those 92 days as well as glimpses of the support they received from people around the world. It's a quick but very interesting read, with plenty of pictures, diagrams and thoughts from his pacing circles.

Well-written in short poignant chapters. Gives important context for Turkey's political situation while also offering wisdom on writing and family. Read for the 2019 Read Harder Challenge for a book written in prison so was out of my comfort zone. Still not a huge nonfiction fan but enjoyed it.

For three months, Can Dundar, Editor-in-chief of the newspaper Cumhuriyet, was in Turkey's Silivri prison for the 'crime' of exposing covert arms shipments to militant groups in Syria. Being in solitary confinement in a grim environment have him the chance to reflect on life, freedom, friendship and family, which former the basis of this prison diary, sometimes lyrical, sometimes polemic. He was lucky, in that a court ordered his release, but thousands of others are still inside for their ...more

Το “Μας συνέλαβαν” είναι το χρονικό της φυλάκισης στη Σηλυβρία το 2016 του Τζαν Ντουντάρ, αρχισυντάκτη τότε της τουρκικής εφημερίδας Τζουμχουριέτ, εν αναμονή της δίκης του για κατασκοπία. Κατάσκοπος ποιας χώρας;

"The more they oppress, the higher our print runs. Only time will tell which one will eventually prevail: government oppression or the book's print runs."

Can Dündar was the editor-in-chief of the Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet when he was arrested in late 2015 for allegedly publishing state secrets. He wrote this book while being imprisoned.
It is one of the best non-fictional books I have read because Dündar manages to give background information, tell his thoughts and feelings, and add stories

Despotizme sürüklenmiş, şirazesi kaymış ülkemizde Can Dündar'ın gazetecilik yapma çabasını ve 'içeriden' insanları mücadele etmeleri için yüreklendirmesini okumak, diğer ümit kırıcı tüm gelişmelere rağmen, mutluluk verici. Sisyphos umarım taşı zirveye çıkartıp artık orada sabitlemenin bir yolunu bulacak.

Hayata bağlanmanın, inanmanın, dürüstlüğün, zalime karşı mücadelenin Can Dündar kaleminden tasviri olmuş.
İçinde insana hayat ders olabilecek sayısız küçük anektot var.
Can Dündar kaleminden tarihe not düşen bu kitap, zaman zaman keyifle ve hızla akarken, zaman zaman hüzünle yavaşlıyor.
Herkese tavsiye olunur.
