This is the only time I will ever have spent close to $150 on a book. Yes, I was nuts at the time. But it was definitely something I wanted to add to my book collection and none were bigger and better than this particular one. It's the story of KISS, as told by the band members themselves with tons of never before seen pictures of behind the scenes from their early days of creating their iconic make-up characters to tours, etc...during their peak years, when they were unquestionably the "hottest band in the world".

The book itself is hardbound and extremely sturdy....and heavy. It is packed with everything making it literally the biggest book I own. :)

Very detailed book about a band that is so underated when it comes to talent...Many of their songs are very meaningful and have influenced my life in so many ways.I still believe regardless of someones musical taste i could find a KISS song that every single person would like..People have preconceived notions and think KISS is about "Rock and Roll All Nite" and nothing else ..Their musical talent and their ability to adapt to the times combined with meaningful songwriting is always overlooked because of the makeup and their comic book image. My wedding song was a KISS song and my daughter is named after a Kiss song (and its not beth or christine)..her name is Shandi...This book is a must for any KIss fan....Be careful when buying used due its large size, early editions were not made with a strong enough binding to handle the books oversized and heavy weight..The binding issue was cleared up but inspect with caution when buying used for a large sum.....Other than the early binding issue ,the book when in good condition is well worth the money..for diehards i also recommend a book from 1979 called KIss the real story by Peggy Tomarkin from Dell Publishing(library of congress catalog #79-56546..Its like the first print of Kisstory from 73-79.... Setup is in a timeline fashion with many great never before seen photos and full articles...a great part is all the vinyl record reviews from 73-75 talking about this band not being around in a year......so KISSTORY GETS 5-STARS and its always great to revisit it along with the 2nd one (KISSTORY 2) over and over

I love this book!! It's always great to have KISS books written by KISS. You get the story straight from the group. I have read this book multiple times & always love going back to revisit it.
