The final book in the Thirty-Eight series.

It was always bros before hoes—except when Josephine Faulkner got involved.

The saying had been obliterated for Maxwell Sheridan the moment he met her. His Josephine. She had become his everything without even trying. It’s too damn bad that Max broke her heart. Left her behind to seek redemption for his past mistakes. Life with

Wow, just Wow!!! Len Webster you put my heart through the ringer and I didn't know if I would make it to the end of the book, but I did and you definitely redeemed yourself!!!

Josie's story was heartbreaking in so many ways but despite it all she continued to live, day in day out. I wanted to hug and let her know that she would survive this because she was stronger than she gave herself credit for. And I think in the end she realized she was.

Oh Max, Max, Max....I wanted to personally let him feel

Wow wow wow talk about an emotional conclusion and a couple that just couldn’t catch a break.

At the end of Book 1 I was left heartbroken with the way things ended with Max and Josie. I wanted to strangle Max and thought at first that his reasoning was stupid and he needed to grow a pair, lol. But at the beginning of this conclusion I realized why he really did it and the meaning behind it; I again became Team Max.

Josie was shattered and I cried while reading this entire book. From beginning to

With The Last Goodbye by Len Webster picks up right where we left off in The First Goodbye and is the conclusion to Max and Josie’s story. Josie and Max are heartbroken and apart. Their journey was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. It was full of obstacles and had me in tears many times. It was an emotional journey.

All Josie ever wanted was to be someone’s first, but instead Max broke her heart on the worst day possible. In the meantime, Max had a journey to follow to find the forgiveness he

Some advice before you start grab some chocolate a drink and tissues lots and lots of tissues your going to need them.

This is the conclusion to Max and Josie’s story, it is everything I hoped for and more. The emotion is cranked up a notch if that’s even possible, the characters more broken the writing even stronger.

We pick up exactly where we left off, me personally with my heart shredded on the floor and Josie’s life imploding all around her.

Len has done it again. This series is one of my all time favourite.. I started this series about a month ago and have binged read the whole series. I couldn't put them down.

I've been looking forward to this book since last year. Max and Josies are my favourite couple in this series and I loved how their love grows. I did get very frustrated with these two at some parts and just wanted to shake them. I ugly cried about 3 times during this book. Max has my heart, he's not perfect but

It is finally done.

After months of agonizing wait (you torture me, Len), the stunning conclusion to Max & Josie's heartbreaking journey has finally arrived, and as the song began to hit its final note, so has their story and it was every bit of bittersweet.

If I had thought book 1 was painful, it couldn't compare to what I went through in book 2. *Note: it is recommended that you pick up With The First Goodbye as this book is a continuation from book one.

From the start, I knew it would be a

Some of my reasons from the first one still stand for this one, I just couldn't connect with the characters and the more I read they just annoyed me a little more. The only good thing is that they, of course, had a happy ending which I did love and I was happy that Josephine and Max could sort it out. But other than that I wasn't really a fan of this sadly!

I will, of course, give Len Webster another chance but I think these two novels were just not for me!

Talk about angst and tears. This is the emotional conclusion to With the First Goodbye and we get to find out what happens to Max and Josie. Josie just wants to be someone's first choice and Max wants to get atonement from him past sins with his best friends.

The problem is, take those top two reasons and add in the fact that both Max and Josie love each other so much it is so hard to read about because it is about forgiveness and acceptance and overall a love so powerful that you can't help the

With the Last Goodbye is a head trip in the biggest way. Len Webster is determined to leave all her readers with the reminders of our pain:
*unending tear tracks
*puffy red eyes
*a relentless sniffle
*and the never going away a headache from crying.

My day was spent trying to hide from the feels (unsuccessfully, I might add). I tried to hide from the hurt, the ache, and the desperation pouring off me (to no avail).

I was late to the party with this series but in no way shape or form do I feel left

The last book in the series also brings the last goodbye to one of the most beautiful and angst novel I have ever read. This book is not a standalone, so you have to read With the First Goodbye to understand the story.

Max and Josies story continues as they continue to fight for what they believe and love. First of all I have to say im a bit afraid to write something that will spoil your future read but what I can say that you need to read them for various reason.

This is not your typical romance

My first 5 star read of 2018!

Eeeeeekkkk it finally happened! My first 5 star read of 2018! I have been in a book funk for 27 days. Rereading favorites, reading new books that were mostly 3 stars (a few 4 stars), but they weren’t making me feel much. I was losing hope until I began to read With The Last Goodbye!

It was only the first chapter and I was already crying. My heart hurt so much, I was frustrated at times, I swooned so hard and I laughed as well. Max and Josie had their ups and downs;

This review covers both books in this duet within a series.
Again, based on the blurb, this story was right up my alley but I gotta say I'm amazed I got through it and am relieved it's over.
I think this writer is a pleaser and is ambivalent when it comes to writing conflict. She doesn't want to fully commit to making her characters screw up in a spectacular fashion because it might sour the character in question in the eyes of the reader. In this story she made the hero 'sorta' screw

This half of Max and Josie's story was more of the same for me but with some improvements. There was less self-deprecation on the part of the characters and the superfluous information was at a minimum. However, I still felt like both books could have been combined into one with a lot left on the cutting room floor.

Let's recap. First we had the friends angle, followed by the “I’m not good enough” mentality on both sides, then lots of I love yous, passion, and your my everything and I’ll never

Len Webster is the queen of emotionally beautiful stories with her way of writing stories that have a raw emotion of pain and hurt throughout them. First with the previous story with the first goodbye and then with this story with the last goodbye. Both were beautifully written in a way to draw you to both characters.

Josephine completely breaks my heart throughout the story with the way that she feels that she’s not good enough when she is such a strong and caring character that has

This author has once again done a fabulous job of telling the final chapter in Josie and Max's story.

This book was emotionally charged and I highly recommend that you have several boxes of Kleenex right from the beginning. This book starts right where the last one ended and goes from there. Josie and Max continue to have turmoil in their relationship which is always up and down. One of the things I love about this book is Josephine she is young but with everything she has gone through

I don't even know how to write this review! If you read this book without shedding any tears or feeling the absolute heartbreak Josie goes through, you are a dead, shriveled up creature and you need help. That being said, this book was beautifully written. It had angst, drama, love, heartache, emotions galore. Josie often spoke about how she wasn't strong and couldn't handle things, but she was wrong. She had an inner strength that couldn't be matched. I loved that when she felt she couldn't ...more

With The Last Goodbye by Len Webster is the 6th and final in the Thirty-Eight Series and the conclusion to Max and Josie’s story. As I stated previously, it’s not a standalone. You have to read the previous book, With The First Goodbye first, and if you have the time, the rest of the series too.
We pick up where With the First Goodbye left off, and Josie’s life has imploded thanks to Max’s decisions. She’s dealt with a lot in her young life so her strength of character shines through all her

With the Last Goodbye is a heartbreakingly beautiful story of love - the kind of love my heart yearns for - that stands the test of time. ~ Heather, White Hot Reads.

If you’ve not read a Len Webster book, make With the First Goodbye the one. Then follow it up with this one - With the Last Goodbye. You’ll thank me for it later.

We pick up where With the First Goodbye leaves off, you have to read this first or you will be completely lost. This is not a standalone.

This is an truly emotional book. I cried through the whole thing, and it wasn’t pretty cries either, it was total ugly cry going on. The characters Max and Josie are wonderful and their story will pull your heart out. It is beautifully written and I am totally in love with it. At one point I felt so bad for Josie that I couldn’t help but think

Max choose something in his life, with it, Josie got the consequences. She got a heartbreak, now she's taking care of his mother until the last second of her life, she has her friend's support; although Max left her. But this book, isn't just drama, we got a different perspective of these characters, now we have the chance to see Max and Josie, not the perfect couple. We see a daily fight for their love. A new chance for making something right.
They accept the challenge to see that not everything

With the Last Goodbye, by Len Webster, is the sixth book in the Thirty-Eight series. This is a new adult/college contemporary romance. You absolutely need to read With the First Goodbye prior to reading this book as this is a continuation. Such a heart wrenching and emotionally raw story. It sinks into you as you read and you cannot help but to feel the raw emotionally strains as they wrench through this story. I don’t know what to say about this book. I was feeling it up until about 70%. Max was an idiot and so was Josie. I wanted them together for majority of the book but then when Max made a stupid stupid decision and Josie’s response made me wish for a different ending. The ending was so underwhelming that I just could stay on board with them.

Two warnings
1. Grab those tissues lots of them, this is one emotional read.
2. Not a standalone as With the First Goodbye MUST be read first.
This is the conclusion to Max and Josie's story. A heart wrenching story of love and loss. Embracing love to be stronger, more fulfilled. To live for the moments, make the most as the next is never a guarantee.

With The Last Goodbye is not a standalone, it is the second book and picks up exactly where we left off With The First Goodbye. Max wanting to leave Melbourne with Andrea to redeem himself in the US. And Josie heartbroken because of her mother and Max leaving her.

"I knew I wouldn't be enough to make him stay."

For me With The Last Goodbye is even better than the first book, With The First Goodbye. You already know the characters and how they react and make their decisions. This makes it so much

"Because Josie was so tired.
So tired of life and its unfairness.
Tired of disappointment.
Tired of never being someone’s first choice.
Tired of knowing what pain felt like when it consumed you.

omg I want to slap Max, he's made many mistakes regarding his personal life when it comes to Josie. Josie has had alot of losses in her life but she's strong and keeps moving forward but it's hard to lose love. These two characters have touched me, I couldn't put this book down, I was so happy to Josie s HEA.
