Her ability means she has never accepted the official story involving her father’s death, and searching for answers, she follows an echo into the Between, a dark and dangerous world she never knew existed, where only the Gifted can enter.

** I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much for sending me your book, Anna! I wanted to read it for ages and your offer truly made my day! I’m sorry it took me so long to get to it, but once I did, I really enjoyed it so there’s that! ;-)**

”I feel like I’ve been asleep for a really long time, and suddenly I’ve woken up, and the world is a whole different place. Everything has changed, and I can’t just pretend it hasn’t. I wish I could, but I’m not

First of all the book has a very nice bookcover and it is the first thing that piqued my curiosity for this story. It is the first time I actually learned the existence of baobab trees which apparently they are very common in Africa.

The baobab was nearly as wide as it was tall—its trunk alone stood wider than five people placed side by side. It had shed its leaves during the arid winter, making its alien-like branches barren and a mirror image of its roots. It appeared as though some unknown gia

Even though I spent the first few chapters wondering what the hell was going on, the characters and the premise were intriguing enough to hold my attention. I don't regret my decision to keep reading and patiently wait for more world-building related information because this book got better with each page.

Admittedly, I found Allyra's chapters in the first half of the book too slow-paced and it made me feel a bit lethargic. It's not as if nothing exciting happened; there were action-packed scenes

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks to the author of this book, Anna Webb, for this generous opportunity 😚

☆☆☆☆ ☆~ 5/5

This book was sooo incredibly good. I absolutely loved the story. It was original, thoughtful, action packed and kept me wanting more. As noted in an update of my progress earlier in the book, I did have a couple of issues.

First being that the story felt like it was rushed. There was a lot of information that was introduced in such a short

Thank you Anna Webb for the opportunity to read your book. This was an enjoyable read. The premise really intrigued my interests. The story itself was interesting and had a slight similarity to The Hunger Games, the characters have to fight and survive in order to win their freedom in the Trials. The story in the beginning starts off slow, but then it picked up the pace and started to get interesting. I was no

A huge thank you to the author for allowing me to read this in exchange for my honest thoughts.
This was a curious read. In some ways I could sense elements of other hit YA novels, but there was some very different stuff too.
Allyra is haunted by the death of her father. She has always been able to sense the past, but doesn't know what she is. In this first in the series we get to learn of Allyra's skills and what impact they might have on events.
When she crosses to the Between awful things are se

I loved this book. I enjoyed the challenges and felt bad when all Allrya's friends die during their challenges. I liked that Alex never gave up on her and that they both knew that they would see each other again. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. A huge thanks to Anna Webb for the opportunity.

Going into this, I wasn't really sure what to expect. The premise sounded interesting, and the cover was great but I had no prior knowledge of the book or the author and really had no idea what I was getting myself into, or even if I'd enjoy the novel. I'm happy to say that I had a great time and really enjoyed it c:

I was provided a free copy of this book for review purposes.

To be honest, it took me a while to get into this book. The beginning moves pretty slow, and it's hard to connect with Allyra. There's also a lot of punctuation errors, which would throw me out of the story at the beginning since I was having trouble with it anyway.

The good news is that you stick with it, the story pulls you in and refuses to let go. It took me about two weeks to get through the first third of the story, and then I read

** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honestly review**

Ok honestly this is the best book to binge read when you literally have no time to read at all. The plot was amazing, the characters were mostly on point (and Alex I mean he was the one). Jamie, however, I thought was the typical ideal guy who's girlfriend has fallen for another guy. I feel like the book dragged on at some parts, and was a little too fact paced at others. I definitely wouldn't crave for the next book, but no d

Allyra - She started out as a character that I didn't like. Her dogged persistence to find out what happened to her father was admirable. But her approach to Alex and being in the Between was irksome to say the least. But she is a good example of a character that experiences growth and change through the journey of the book. By the time she emerges from the Between, she is a much stronger character. By the end o

The plot drew me to this book!! The BETWEEN sounded interesting and creepy at the same time ( I love creepy stuff:p). The cover looks haunting and beautiful!!!. I actually finished this book in one session (YAYYYY!!!!).

Now let’s move on to the review.

This is a good start of a new fantasy series.
Although I found Allyra quite annoying at the beginning, after she emerged from the Between, she was a different person that I liked more. I love when the characters develop in a story, so I guess it was good to be annoyed by Allyra afterall :). Alex is great! His motives are questionable, but I think that he will turn out to be a good character. Jamie is too much of the good guy I think, but this is just my opinion. The other characters are also wel

First Thoughts: Wow! That was... Give me more!!! Now, please.

Quick Summary: Into the Between was one of the best series intro books I've read in a long while. It was fresh, action-packed, intriguing and downright good. The characters were layered and complex. The worlds were a curious mix of past, present and future. Every angle had an angle. That kept me engaged the whole time, I tell you. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn. The Gifted, the Elementals, the Trials, the Revenants, th

Allyra and Alex were my favorite characters. I really enjoyed Allyra's character as a whole. Alex is still a mystery character and that draws my attention. I'm not a fan of Jamie though sadly. He's a good character, but he didn't hold my attention.

The start of the book was slow. It didn't hook me. As I got further into it though, I wanted to keep reading. The plot building was decent abo

The 3 stars are given, not because It was a bad book, but because of the formal language that was present. It struck me as a YA adult but it didn't always read as one. But the characters and trials were definetly interesting as Jamie was one of the characters that fascinated me most because of his willingness

I am SOOO glad I found this author!! I can't wait to read more from her! Given time, she might even rank up with Mercedes Lackey and Madeline L'Engle for me, which is high praise in my mind!
