Holy mother of Gawd, what enthralling this book turned out to be! L.P. Lovell blew me away with this dark, raw and gritty novel. I really enjoyed 'Absolution', her other dark novel I've read but this one…was pure and simple awesome. I absolutely loved it! Every aspect of this story was fantastically done, the story unbelievably gripping from beginning until the end and so utterly addictive. 'Kill Me' was the perfect blend of action, suspense and steam; it was intense from start to finish and kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time.
“This is the last woman on earth I should want to kiss, and yet, she’s the only one I’ve ever wanted to put my mouth on this much.”
Una had spent years with the Bratva becoming over he years one of their special soldiers. She’s a warrior, she’s The Kiss of Death, she’s a hired killer, feared, yet respected by many. She’s professional and deadly and all she knows is how to kill. She enjoys killing, she lives for it, never feeling more alive than when she’s taking a life.
“I will become her saviour and her nightmare. I’ll be whatever the fuck she needs me to be if she plays the role I need her for.”
Nero is a man who embodies power. He wants power and he will do anything to get it – torture, kill…anything. He’s intelligent and manipulative, feral and blood thirsty, he’s feared and respected and plans to be the next Capo. Nero is taken aback by the way Una handles herself and by her psychotic ways. If at first he wants to use her as a weapon, as he gets to know her, he starts to want her for himself, to have her and possess her in every possible way. He wants The Kiss of Death and he will have her in one way or another, because after all, he always gets what he wants.
“For the first time in a long time, I want something other than just power. I want her. She will be my jewel in my crown. My broken queen.”
'Kill Me' was that kind of read that will suck you in from the very beginning – fast paced, intense, intriguing and so deliciously sexy. I absolutely loved Una and Nero’s story – their world full of corruption and death, their crazy, yet fascinating dynamic, the intense chemistry between them. Everything was done to perfection, everything was captivating, everything was raw.
Both Una and Nero were fantastic, strong, complex characters. I loved them individually and I loved them together. Both of their portrayal were stellar, both of them being so captivating and so hypnotic. Una was a heroine/anti-heroine I loved from the very beginning. She was such a kickass woman and definitely one the most engrossing female character I’ve read in a while. She was fierce, smart, capable and dangerous and I loved her very much. A killer or not, Una was endearing, a little bit cray-cray and as cold and emotionless as our hero.
“He doesn’t fear me, so he wants to challenge me, wants to see me snap.”
Nero was without a doubt the perfect match for Una. He oozed power and charisma from the moment he was introduced. Cold and ruthless, he was a dangerous man, a man with no boundaries, smart and cunning who knew what he is and what he wants. I have to admit that he charmed me from the start with his arrogance and sexiness, because let me tell you, this man was as hot as sin as he was dangerous.
Una and Nero’s relationship was crazy as f@ck. These two were insane together, their relationship being so damn explosive. I totally loved them together! The sexual tension between them was fantastic and so intense at times. They were crazy separately and crazy together and dayum, the sex scenes between them were so hot and passionate.
“I want to fight her and tame her only for her to break free and do it all over again. I want to strangle her while I fuck her and then fall asleep, never quite knowing whether I’ll open my eyes again, or whether she’ll put a bullet between them instead.”
I loved the way Nero was with Una. The way he wanted her was fantastic. He was such an alpha male – dominant, demanding, possessive and my, oh my...so sexy.
Una and Nero’s story ends with a cliffhanger which I have to say surprised me a little. Regardless, I’m looking forward to read the next installment.
All in all , 'Kill Me' was an awesome read, gripping read filled with pretty much everything that makes a dark read unputdownable – well developed plot and characters, action and suspense and dark elements that will keep your interest from start to finish.

Well, this book certainly took me by surprise! When I picked up 'Kill Me' as a Kindle Unlimited, I expected a mafia romance...maybe with a revenge/captivity theme. What I got was so much better!
Una and Nero first meet when they work together to complete a job. Una is an assassin - the best of the best. She is feared and respected in the criminal underground. She is a living legend.
Unlike Una, Nero is a virtual unknown in the shady underworld they live in. He's been born and raised in the mafia, but has always taken a backseat to his brother.
That's where Una comes in. All of that is getting ready to change. Nero is determined to rise up, claiming his brother's power and position. To do that, he needs Una's special skillset.
Upon first meeting Nero, Una can tell that he is a man not to be underestimated. His eyes reveal him for the cold, calculating killer that he is. Yet, his touch does something to her that nobody else's ever has.
To get Una to agree to work for him, Nero offers her a deal that she cannot refuse. Begrudgingly, Una finds herself at Nero's beckoned call. She knows that he's got all the power in this situation and she has to go along with his plan until a way out is revealed.
Nero insists that Una live with him until all of the hits are complete, which paves the way for some very interesting situations. Before long, they have struck up a kind of friendship and mutual respect. They understand each other like others cannot.
This book was dangerous, hot and utterly captivating. Nero and Una are both so ruthless and calculating. Reading their story was like watching 'The Dating Game: Psychopath Week'. They were wicked through and through, but I loved them.
If you want a strong female lead who is unapologetically badass, then Una is your girl! I never knew what she was going to do next. A part of me though I should be appalled, but I wasn't.
This story kept me on the edge of my seat, right to the very end. It was action-packed and thrilling. To top it off, there was plenty of romance...although, not in the typical "rainbows and unicorns" fashion. It was great!

4.5 Stars that I rounded up to 5, that is how you know I thought a book was extra special. I keep my five star ratings limited so that only the extra special books get that honor. Well Kill Me definitely deserved the 5! Not only that, the prologue book even got 5 Stars too. And I don't think I've ever rated a novella higher than 4 before. This series and these characters are just that amazing.
Una is the Kiss of Death, the assassin no one wants to cross and the one that almost every crime family has ties with. But Nero wants her all to himself and to use her as only he see's fit. She comes with a price though, one Nero has no problem with but one Una knows she should walk away from...yet she can't.
I really just can't get over how dark and raw this book was. From the very beginning I was sucked into this world of death and destruction, and I loved every second of it. Nero and Una were crazy characters, yet I loved them and how they never held back. Both of them were more than a little unhinged and had a sinister air around their characters, but I found it hot.
Both Nero and Una killed without a blink of an eye, no regrets and no feelings. Their turbulent relationship had me on the edge of my seat, and I was dying to see how these two killers would come together. I just couldn't get enough of their insanity and call me crazy, but their gritty and hateful fight-sex was a huge turn on! Foreplay for them was death and their sexual tension just about made my Kindle start to steam. I loved how their want for one another was so strong and went against both of their rules, yet they couldn't stop from waning each other. Two merciless killers, a King and a Queen, their worlds shouldn't cross, but when they did the chemistry exploded.
Kill Me ends on a cliffhanger and has me still going completely bonkers. I need more of this murderous couple as soon as possible! I should be afraid of them, but nope all I want is more of Nero and Una and I absolutely need to see how their story is going to play out.

despite the futile resistance...the fact is...
BUT the events change the course of actions for Una as a high price has been put on her head and she must yet again chose and turn into a weapon, relaying on no one but herself, especially when she's faced with the most challenging and frightening decision in the process.
by far, one of the best books I have read this year, and i'm sad to notice, there weren't that many that could fit into that category, to begin with, hence my enthusiastic and overwhelming feeling cruising through me after reading Kill me by LP Lovell.
Thrilling, exciting, dark, passionate, vicious and vile, messy yet absolutely consistent in tone, pace and subject.
I have indulged my guilty pleasure! [wicked grin]

OH-MY-GOD!! Ifucking loved this book!
Confesso que estava com um certo medo de não gostar desse tanto quanto eu gostei do prequel. Pra minha completa felicidade, achei que Kill Me foi tão bom ou até mesmo melhor!
Una é o tipo de mocinha que eu gosto muito. Confiante, implacável, cruel, com um ar de arrogância, que convenhamos, com a sua reputação é devidamente merecido. Achei a personagem bem construída, sem ficar forçada ou além da medida. Extremamente eficiente no que “faz”. Ela sabe, eles sabem, todos sabem. Fato. Uma assassina contratada temida e respeitada por muitos.
Nero é aquele mocinho que muitos torcerão o nariz, em caso extremo, odiarão. Eu sinceramente achei ele o par perfeito pra Una. Igualmente –ou até mesmo mais– impiedoso, cruel e violento que ela. Um homem que exala poder e autoridade. Capaz de tudo, tudo mesmo, para alcançar isso.
Ainda estou na dúvida e não sei ao certo qual o meu sentimento em relação a adição de um elemento no final, mas no geral, esse livro me agradou e muito!
A escrita e narrativa permaneceram da mesma forma: fluida, envolvente e cativante. Eu devorei esse livro e não consegui parar a leitura enquanto não chegasse na última página!
Ahhhh como senti falta desse frio na barriga, dessa eletrizante curiosidade de descobrir o que acontecerá a seguir.
Estou apreensiva e temerosa de como a história se desenrolará no próximo livro e como será o desfecho. Dedos cruzados novamente para que não me decepcione!

Dois personagens extremamente intensos, violentos e perigosos… são como fogo e gasolina, uma verdadeira explosão! Chame-me de louca, mas ansiei por cada encontro, vibrei e adorei cada interação entre os dois. Ver a constante batalha de um querendo subjulgar o outro foi tanto fascinante quanto assustador. O que eu mais gostei é que suas reações eram imprevisíveis. Certamente um casal interessante, peculiar, impressionante e enlouquecedor!!

This mafia story was dark, brutal and very original!

Nero Verdi, mafia capo of New York, bloodthirsty for power, heartless and frigging ruthless, feared by everyone, without morals and sense of duty.
“He’s so utterly feral, so merciless. His arrogance annoys me; his manipulation infuriates me, even though I’d do exactly the same if I were him. His savagery excites me and his blood lust sings to me. The monster that he is calls to the one that I keep chained up, released only when I kill, but even then, leashed, restricted to clean kills and professional pride.” Una
Two impeccable badass figures, strong, dark and violent to the core. Together they were a spectacular force of violence and chaos.
If you expect to find romance in this story, you will be disappointed!
Such a thing does bot exist in the vocabulary or notion of the main characters.
“Your idea of romance is a knife fight.” Nero
They were unpredictable! An inferno!
Their chemistry was explosive. I never knew if one of them was going to literally kill the other at any moment. Even in their steamy scenes, they were bloody monsters.

The story had a lot of danger, killings and torture, action and suspense, was very well written, the characters’ and plot’s development was amazing!!!
This part ended with a cliffhanger, where Una found herself in a condition that was very unfitting for her.
That was an aspect that I never expected and I can’t wait to start the final part!!! 😱

I've said it before and I'll say it again... L.P. Lovell can
WRITE!!
This book will take you on a thrill ride of an adventure. It is edge-of-your-seat fantastic! There's action, suspense, a pseudo-romance, mafias out the yingyang, and crazy intense chemistry between the main characters.
This author's books always pack a punch and this one was no exception. This story had no "good guy" to be seen. Everyone was a criminal/murderer and it was freaking awesome!! Una was a Russian badass. Her coldness was a little annoying at first, but it completely jived with her character's background. It wasn't pretty, but it made her into a top-notch assassin. Nero was so hot. I can't even explain how incredibly hot his character was. He can rough me up ANYTIME!! He was a criminal extraordinaire (just made him hotter) and he made war, not peace. Somehow, these two fed off each other and it worked.
Fair warning: the end is a huge cliffy. I NEED to know what happens next. January can't come soon enough!!

This was good, but it should've been great. I love books where the heroine is some kind of thief/spy/assassin (love me a morally gray character), but the story/plot was just aight. No heart pumping moments really. Nero was a little too on-the-nose as a mafia boss, and while Una was badass, I think she left a lot to be desired personality wise.
Damn, it's that way she handles everything. So calm, yet so fucking psychotic.

Words cannot describe how much I loved this book. Una is hands down one of the most KICK ASS heroines I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. And Nero...dark, brooding, violent, sexy...I loved him. And the sex scenes...omg...the sex scenes were SCORCHING and VIOLENT and AMAZING!
The next book cannot come soon enough.

5 assassin and mafia stars 🖤
I just love when authors don't sugarcoat things. I love my mafia books with good promising violence. More the bloodshed, more the mayhem, more the savagery; more i adore a mafia book. And this book spoke every aspects of bloodlust.
I love my heroines bad & strong. And this book has a badass boss bitch assassin heroine, who promises death. "Mob boss, cartel leader, motherfucking president…death doesn’t discriminate, she sells to the highest bidder"
I love ❤ loooove Nero. He's a straightout savage with no moral codes. May be that makes me sound twisted & sick. But the more animalistic the hero becomes the more it comsumes me. 🔪 "

Loved this one! It sucked me in from the very beginning and I didn't want it to end!
Una is known as the kiss of death because if you're close enough for her to kiss you then she's going to kill you. She is a bad ass woman and I loved her! She's called in to do a job and meets the dangerous Nero. She can't read Nero. She's intrigued.
Yeah, I can see why she’s so good, because if I didn’t know who she was, I’d be all too willing to sink my dick in her. She’s like killer Barbie. She’s perfect.~Nero
She hasn’t realised yet, I am a motherfucking shark, circling in the dark waters right beneath them all, waiting, biding my time.~Nero
Nero wants his brothers title in the Italian mafia. He needs Una for the job. Then he has another job for her. She won't say no because he has something she wants.
Nero was bad ass! He didn't mess around when he wanted something! He always got what he wanted. He just never planned on wanting Una.
The scream that tears from his lips would have even the hardest of men recoiling. His skin is raw and mangled, literally as though it melted in the fire. Deadly, sinful and freaking explosive! Love the author's storyline and the nonstop action. All of the events flows, and drama....jeesh there so many Oooo's I couldn't help but get hot and flustered under the collar. L.P never lets up! This is like imagining La Femme Nikita on crack but a thousand times better, cause that show is over and this.....awwww hell, fresh and new!

Well you’re in luck, because dear LORD, I don’t know how my kindle and sanity survived this book! Personally, I’m ALWAYS on the hunt for a book where the h and H fight (physical fighting is a plus 😈*whispers* it’s probably why I like CNC/dubcon/noncon scenes where the h fights back lol), and this book was satisfying from A to Z 🔥😉.
Una’s a hired assassin. That’s right- she kicks a$$ for a living (well, more like kills, but who’s being precise these days 💁🏻♀️) and it’s just another day for her 💅. She gets hired by Nero to kill his brother so he can become Capo, and she has to do it the usual way- by seducing the unsuspecting man and then bam… it’s lights out 😅. As SOON as she meets Nero, the tension becomes palpable 😉; okay, so she throws a knife at him and makes him bleed a little 🤷🏻♀️ she needs to keep him on his toes 😂. First impressions are everything in this world, and he’s impressed 😉.
Nero has never met such a ballsy woman before, one that can one-up him every step of the way. I should’ve known how strong their connection was based on their first, bloody, bite-filled kiss 🥵 and it only got 🔥 after. Nero needs some enemies taken care of, and although Una always needs the money, she also values her life. So what does Nero do? Well he blackmails her, of course, what else 💅? And Una HATES it 😅.
Let me pause really quickly… This is me just sitting, drinking my ☕️ , while the pages in my kindle became explosive, because, MY GODDDD, the fact that it survived remains a mystery 😳.
*Deep breaths* oh… mother of all that is holyyyy, the chemistry between these two was so primal, so animalistic, so raw and sexy, I kept checking over my shoulder to make sure no one knew why I was blushing so hard🥵. They take aggressive smexxx to another level🔥. Add in some blood play, lots of biting and grabbing, and I was having a hard time concentrating on life 💦😅. The throat grabs, the pushing, pinning, biting, shoot even cutting… all of it was🔥👏🏻. I mean, even when they had knives at each other’s throats, I was enthralled, mesmerized, and, dare I say, very much interested 👀.
Their first full on smexxx scene was *chef’s kiss*. Okay, sure they were LITERALLY kicking each other’s a$$e$ (he was actually fighting back 😬), but when Una did one of my all-time favorite things h’s do to Hs… the slap-kiss scene, I was done for. Forget kissing, he does what my young-v eyes always wanted Hs to do when I was watching those SCANDALOUS soap operas as a kid- BOW CHICKA BOW WOW 🥵🔥😉💦. Lots of ripping of clothes too 😅
Besides the delicious 🔥between them, there’s a lot of emotional stuff happening too. Nero LITERALLY saves her life, more than once, and she finds herself melting each time. They have deep conversations and their connection goes beyond the physical. I loved it 🥺🥰. She’s his queen to his king ❤️❤️❤️.

i got about 60% through it and while it's not the worst thing i've ever read it's nothing new either. girl with a hard past becomes assassin for a mob boss. she falls for mob boss, kicking and screaming the whole time.
i mean she's a better assassin than celaena. but the romance felt tired and i just wasn't compelled to keep reading.

Wahhh!!! Why did it have to end??
This book was so exciting! It draws you in so much that you basically live it with them. I finished last night and am still trying to get my heart rate down.
I love an Alpha female lead but Una is on another level. And what happens when you have two Alphas?
Explosions. Crazy. Hardcore. Room-breaking explosions.
Having already read the prologue to this book, I already knew why Una is the way she is, so I was right there with her, understanding how ruthless she is.
It's not normal to understand an assassin though right?!
Erm heck no! But because this book and Make Me were both written so well - and in so much detail - I did feel connected.
This woman is unbreakable, isn't she?
I can't answer that as we are left on a cliff hanger *sobs*, but what I do know is that she is made to wobble!

Nero is power and badass to the extreme. I thought no one would match Una but he does entirely. He is one cray cray mofo but we forgive him for it because he pulls it off with sophistication, nice suits and total hotness.
Put the two together and it's one hell of a ride.
I love how we are given these two crazy highly strung powerful killers and yet they still bicker like man and wife. I wasn't expecting humor from this book but I found just the right amount.
If theirs isn’t a messed up 'relationship', I don't know what is.

In preparation of Hate Me I decided to revisit my favorite killer couple Nero and Una. I loved Kill Me just as much as I did the first time.

Kill Me was the first book I have read by this author but no way is it my last. This book is everything I want to read in a mafia book. Nero is dangerous, violent and plays by his own rules. He has a plan and he needs Una to help him accomplish it. What he doesn't plan on is wanting her the way he does. Una is a Russian assassin trained to be an Elite from the time she was a young girl. She is deadly, cold and on the surface unfeeling. When these two get together look out because your not sure if they're going to tear each others clothes off or kill each other. It makes their coming together explosive. From beginning to end the story is exciting but it does end with a cliffhanger but book 2 is out already.

Holy fudging poop! That was intense, riveting, agressive, sexy, and so enticing. After reading the prequel "Make Me", I knew I was hooked and had to read the series.
Lovell is a skilled author who can balance the agressivitté of the story, whilst keeping it sexy and, yes, human. Una was conditioned to dislike any sort of casual human contact, and to believe that any sort of attachment is a weakness. In Kill Me, we slowly see her facade crumbling and how that terrifies her. Lovell gradually peels of layers of Una showing us what shaped her and how she is still indeed human.
Nero is just as ruthless as Una, and as of meeting her, he to looses grasp on his impassiveness. This makes for a very passionate, and dangerous pairing.
This was a prime example of how to write about organized crime and the feuds between organization, showing how calculated and two-faced everyone is, whilst remaining classy and protected - not an easy feat.

Three words... Sexy, Action, suspense...
Una is not your average woman, taken at the age of thirteen and trained to be a killer. She has no emotions, until Nero hires her.
Nero, the soon to be Capo of an Italian mob needs Una in more ways than one.
First off, I love mob stories I'm a sucker for them, second I loved Una, she was such a badass! Nero I found to be hot. I liked how he didn't treat her delicately at all. They were so hot together.
The story line was perfect. Yes there is a cliffhanger and I can't wait for more!!

I tried to enjoy this book but unfortunately, I cannot connect with the characters. While most felt the rush of adrenaline while reading this, I felt nothing.
A whole day with no desire to read what happened next is a sure sign that I'm not invested in the story.
I might return back to reading this just to see what's the fuss is all about and why it got a high rating. But for now, I'll leave it as a DNF.

After reading some mediocre books, this was finally a good one...4.5 stars!
Badass heroine.
Dominant hero.
Very hot combat scenes.
Great mafia story.
Plus I really liked Una and Nero-nice names by the way-....and now I have to start the next book pronto, because of that damn cliffy.

Ruthless, cold, arrogant, conniving, dominant, intelligent and possessive alpha anti-hero. Sexy and hot AF! Yum! Loved him!
He was a perfect match for
Una
Fierce, strong, smart, merciless, blood thirsty and kick-ass anti-heroine. Bacio della morte. Kiss of death. Loved her!
After Nero hired Una to kill his half-brother, he blackmailed her to help him kill his opponents and move in with him. These two cold-blooded killers slowly cracked each other's emotionless, black hearts through dysfunctional use and abuse. Their relationship was explosive and bordering on hate-love, the sex scenes were very intense and passionate with ripping clothes, drawing blood, biting and choking.
Great complexity and development of the characters and plot, lots of mafia action and suspense.
