Too many books waste our time with endless, boring exposition just for the sake of filling the page, but not this book. We get caught up to speed on everything that is going on and then are immediately thrown into the center of the story, and that is SO refreshing.

I'm a sucker for family drama in an epic setting, so to speak, and this book has it in spades. We're reading about four generations of love, lies, and betrayal, and unfortunately, you can't get too attached to the character

Well written with lashings of political and palace intrigue, super smooth dialogue and believable fight scenes; a real page turner with a single sexually charged scene, which, as with Sebastian Faulkes's 'Birdsong', makes it memorable with the subtly brilliant 'less is more'.

The Sultan's Heir (prequel to The Desert Princess) is a fabulous read!
Beginning at the deathbed of elderly Sultan Rezhan of Zaityra, The Sultan's Heir spans a tale of nearly four decades encompassing three generations of Zaityra's royal family.

A vivid and gripping adventure from 1205- 1244, The Sultan's Heir tells the entwined stories of The Sultan's son and successor Erezhad, his daughter Princess Seraya and grandson Ezhad.
Erezhad desperate for a male heir after 5 daughters yet det

The Sultan's Heir takes you on a vivid and gripping adventure beginning in the Summer of 1205 between neighboring towns of Zaityra and Ronan at war with each other. The Sultan's son, Erezhad, watches the death of his father and vows to never be the brutal ruler, or philadander that his father was, but after the birth of five daughters, he knows he has to leave an heir - a son, to keep peace within Zaityra.

A harem woman promises to give him that son, Zamaya, but she has far more ambitious goals

I was asked to give a honest review....
I personally found it quite difficult to get into the plot.
it was poorly written and lacked direction.
I think it would be better if there was more action and there was more of a clearer picture built. The idea of reading is seeing it in your minds eye and describing what you see and having a clear start, middle and end having an idea where you are wanting to go

Most enjoyable and exciting. But also get Roman with regards to names such as Crassus and Aurelius. Pretoria Guards, Vigili kept bringing me back to Ancient Rome or is that what your Ronan represented. Good read and an excellent story. Looking forward to reading the follow on , if it's half

as good as this one it should be well worth the read. Th a now again for the entrainment you have given.
