It has become a habit to buy a book from wherever I visit this last couple of years and last week I visited the British Museum for the first time and purchased this guide book and used the map to find my way around the place.

Now settled back at home I gave it a read through. Full of interesting information on what I remember seeing. Well laid out with very good clear pictures and short descriptive text makes it a nice easy read.

Highlights of the museum visit for me were the Rosetta Stone, Sutton Hoo helmet, the Egyptian mummies and sarcophagi and the early artwork from the Netherlands.

This book is an excellent guide to many of the amazing artifacts in the British Museum. I am a person who loves to understand the things I see in museums, so this book was quite helpful in getting a snapshot into some of the museum's most notable pieces! The color coded map in the front flap is also quite handy for your visit.
