Ryder Hart was a rocker that had brought him and is sister up through a childhood of hell and turned it into future full of fame, fortune and family. The fame and fortune came from creating one of the hottest rock bands around and the family was the other two guys in the band. Who could need or want for anything else? Ryder was every girls dream but he was giving his heart to no one. He couldn’t take the chance that he possibly could be like his own father. Quinn grew up quite the opposite in so ...more

I am not usually a reader of Rockstar romance novels but a friend of mine recommended this series to me and she has fantastic taste in books so.....I took a chance and I am very glad I did! This is the story of Ryder Hart and Quinn Abernathy. Ryder is the sexy, talented lead singer while Quinnks a photographer sent by Rolling Stone. This story contains all the great elements of an entertaining, hot and fun romance! The first meeting between these two had me laughing out loud and

This book was more slower paced then I normally read but the storyline was steady enough that I wanted to carry on reading.
I liked the build up in the relationship with Ryder and Quinn. Loved the first meeting! They had great chemistry.
Some parts of the story I felt could have developed more to add some drama esp with Cora and Alden.
I will be giving book 2 a try to see what happens with the rest of the band.

"Hope. A small word, but so often it could be the difference between giving up and finding something - no matter how small - to hold onto."

"It showed him what spring should look like. Blazing with beauty and the hope of what was ahead."

I received this book as "blind date" and I knew nothing more about it than one sentence before I started it. It's always exciting starting a book you don't know a real thing about. And this book did not disappoint.

Copy kindly received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I quite enjoyed this book. I wasn't too sure at first if things were seemingly moving too fast, time wise, for the story, but then I realised what I thought was the time frame the story was going to focus around, actually wasn't.

I really liked the way that Ryder and Quinn were quite similar in some ways and they just worked. There was little to no angst in this which was refreshing, and story seemed to flow reall

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

I must admit I am the worst for judging a book by their cover and name so I was unsure about this book when I saw the cover but I am so glad to be proved wrong.

Omg I am completely hot for Ryder!!! I love the relationship between Ryder in Quinn. Ryder is a complete rock star that all the girls love and are ready to drop at his feet. I love that Quinn isn't like that. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to tell Ryder

My first book from this author and I have to say I look forward to reading more. The story of a Rock star and a photographer with many layers that unfold as their relationship progressed. Even though there is some dark in this book, the overall feel to me was a great, light love story. I enjoyed the banter between Ryder and Quinn and the overall theme that no matter what happens to you in life, you can overcome if you truly want to.

This is the first time I have read anything from this author.
I really enjoy reading about troubled rockstars and this one fit the bill without
all the over the top drama.
What I liked about this story is Ryder Hart has been through the wild faze in his career and
now he realizes that he just doesn't want meaningless sex anymore. Ryder and his sister Zoe
had a horrific childhood. Ryder did his part in protecting Zoe, but the aftereffects left him not
trusting anyone, very sceptical and damaged. He fel

Whew, what a rockstar ride! Ryder Hart had a tormented childhood but he's made himself into a rock god. He, his sister and the rest of his band are The Ryder Hart band, but they're all special in their own way. Quinn Abernathy, on the surface, seemed to have the opposite childhood, pampered little girl of a rich dad, but one with whom she doesn't see eye to eye. When she and Ryder meet, her as a photographer for Rolling Stone, their meeting is a little antagonistic, but sets the tone for their c ...more

I see myself as a bit of a rock star romance afficionado - I've read an awful lot of them, after gettin hooked on Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series, and I'm even writing my own. But it still comes down to personal opinion when reviewing a book, and I'm afraid Flowers on the Wall wasn't quite my type of thing. The writing style was a little impersonal for me, and I didn't really connect with the characters as much as I had hoped to. A found the pacing a bit off too, rushing through some parts and l ...more

Ryder felt someone always wanted something from him. All Ryder wanted was to shower and get some uninterrupted sleep. Then the woman said her name was Quinn and there had been an appointment. Ryder had a bad leg and from the beating he received as a child it had been like a war zone. Right now his knee was very swollen and painful. One time when Ryder was ten he got a baseball bat to the knee from the monster who had been his father. Ryder just thought of him as the monster when he was younger. ...more

Ryder is the most romantic rocker ever!!!

Not overtly sexy, high on tension and romance for Africa, Flowers On The Wall is a rocker book unlike anything I have read for quite some time. Wow, the sexual tension was off the charts. Never have I seen graphically written sexual scenes be exchanged for the romantic words that Mary J Williams uses to describe the coming(!) together of Ryder and Quinn.

Quinn has grown up rich, and in deciding not to become a lawyer as her father expected, has had her fin

Ryder Hart is a rock god that clawed his way to the top from an abusive childhood. His circle of friends is small, pretty much consisting only of his bandmates. But, he is a fierce protector of those he holds dear. He also bears some serious emotional wounds from his past that he just can’t seem to let go.

Quinn is a photographer that had come from a supportive and well -off family, until she decided to pursue her dream, rather than her fathers. Since then, she has scrimped and saved and is makin

Flowers on the Wall was my first novel by Mary J William's and it won't be my last. Rockstar romances always hold a place in my heart and this book was no exception. I was hooked on this book from start to finish. The author enthralled me with Ryder and Quinn. Flowers on the Wall was a emotional rollercoaster ride. It was a perfect mix of humor, complexity, heartache, and love. The author did a great job introducing you to all the characters but keeping the story about Ryder and Quinn. The chemi ...more

A heart felt romance about a rock god and a photographer that will steal your heart! With it's interesting storyline, complex characters, humorous banter, and surprise twists, this is a story that you won't want to miss. A great beginning to this series.

Ryder had a horrific childhood, one that he doesn't talk about, and has kept secrets about as well, even from his sister. He is the leader and protector of their band. The band members, his sister, and their music are the most important things t

A good, easy to read story about a rock star and his band, with a super sweet and romantic side as well. In this book Ryder Hart meets Quinn, the photographer assigned to take some photos on tour of the band. As they travel together they become closer.

There is a great mix of characters in this story, and plenty of layers to uncover. And although it's relatively light hearted, there is a serious side too, as we learn and uncover more about Ryder's past the demons he struggles with.

Flowers on the Wall by Mary J Williams is book 1 in the Hart of Rock and Roll series.

A contemporary Romance story with dark pasts, strong emotions and unchartered territory.

This is the first book of Mary J Williams that I have read and my only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. I loved everything about this story. It has a beautiful simplicity to it but also explores very deep and real emotions throughout.

Both of our leads, Ryder and Quinn and great characters. Well thought out well balanc

I loved this book and cannot wait to read the rest of this series! Ryder is a Rock God that came from nothing and Quinn is a photographer who has very little but had come from a wealthy family. The first line from Ryder had me hooked " I don't F@$$ groupies". He is definitely an alpha man, but he is so down to Earth and thoughtful, you can't help but fall in love with him.

Quinn made me smile when she let him know up front that he would get nothing from her while she was working. Once the tour i

I read this book as part of Quirky's Blind Date With A Book scheme.

This book completely broke me from the beginning, those that know me will know why. But I felt myself healing as I read on. I loved the dual POV as it gave me an insight into Ryder and I felt the book wouldn't' have been as good if it was a single POV. I absolutely adored the journey Ryder and Quinn went on and I enjoyed the slow pace. I was sort of sad when the book finished as there was no epilogue and I honestly wasn't expecti

Ryder Hart had a horrible childhood. He turned his adult life into what dreams are made of. He is successful, happy. His band is successful. In walks Quinn Abernathy. Her childhood wasn't anything to write home about, but she's also made her adult life a positive. She is hired to photograph Ryder and his band on the last leg of their tour. Instant chemis

This book was amazing...I am a sucker for rockstar romance. This rock star was perfect. Everything a woman could want and more. And Quinn was just what he needed.Ryder wasn't the typical rock star....he was actually in it for the music, and although he enjoyed the perks in the beginning...he matured just the way every other person does. He didn't use women and drugs to deal with his pain and troubles. Quinn was perfect for him...she was patient and kind. She didn't want him because of his wealth ...more

Ryder is a rocker and Quinn a photographer on tour with the band doing a feature.

Such a sweet, quick read of the tormented soul, rock star, Ryder Hart and the gentle soul, photographer, Quinn Abernathy. He is focusing on his musical career and doesn't have time for a woman. She is in the competitive field of photography and looking for her big break.

Neither can afford to be distracted by a romance. Fate, though has other plans and both are attracted to each other. There is chemistry they just can't deny.

This book is so sweet and wonderful. Once I picked it up, I just couldn'

I enjoyed this book though at times i felt like the pace could have been accelerated a little more. Ryder and Quinn have a whirlwind time together and I liked that there wasn't too much drama for the sake of drama and the story had heart and meat to it. What a great book!!! This is the first book by Mary J. Williams I have read and it won't be the last. I really enjoyed Quinn and Ryder's story. It wasn't your typical girl falls in love with hunky rock star and they live happily ever after. Their is pain and issues that they must both overcome on their journey towards a future together. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

This book was definitely a different take on a rock star romance. It was a breathe of fresh air! I liked how comfortable Ryder was with Quinn to make him open up and share all his secrets. She was so comfortable as well. It was nice to see them just fall into place. They had some smokin Hot chemistry in the bedroom. Minus a few bad apples who couldn't see how great Quinn was for Ryder. I think it was jealously. It was a great book with characters you will definitely feel for.

I thought Flowers on the Wall was a pretty good read. I don't read much rockstar romances as I used to but this one had a good storyline. The Hart family band consisted of a brother and sister and two friends. Ryder Hart was the heartthrob that all the fans wanted and Quinn was a photographer for The Rolling Stones to cover the band. This was an easy read but I thought it was kind of boring in some parts. I would really like to read the next one to read about Dalton's life!

I got this book via #QuirkyBlindDate.

This was a good read. I loved the passion and chemistry between Ryder and Quinn. I loved how protective that band members are of each other. This story had me feeling a few emotions anger to happiness, a little sadness at times. Over all its a great read.

What I would have liked to see is a bit more drama and story around the mangers feeling towards Ryder and to see how that played out a bit.

I love books, I always have and always will. Writing is an extension of that and though it has taken me a while to get here, I now can officially call myself a published author.
I grew up on a ranch in Eastern Washington, so I wanted to set my books on the Columbia River in Washington state. Harper Falls is completely fictitious, but I think anyone from the area will know right where it would be if
