Parts of this book were very difficult to read (i.e. sections that vividly describe the husband's injuries), but what an incredible story. The book was written by both husband and wife; it includes both perspectives and what they were each going through/ thinking/feeling as the story unfolds. Highlights the importance of supporting those who are going through tragedies/difficult times, and how to treat people who have physical differences, in a very personal way through this family's story. Impactful.
I was given this book by my grandmother about 20 years ago and finally read it- I'm glad I did, even though parts of it were difficult to read.
I took this home from the middle school where I teach to see if I could recommend it to my students. Apparently this set of books has been around since a teacher could recommend a Christian book in public school. No more.
