This is an excellent resource for anyone interested in training to become a stronger, more efficient rider/racer. Ned Overend writes the foreward/preface/praises of Friel's methods. Material covers from subjective, self-evaluative/empirical techniques, to scientific, performance result-based study of individual performance. I was still nursing a bad knee when I read this one. This book really educated me in what it takes to build endurance, power, and speed. I have had a tough time finding the time and energy to train like I need...but I am entering a stage in life where time is swinging in my favor. I'm going to try and implement some of it's teachings this year (08').
