This is the story of Psyche and Cupid.

This book is based on the mythology around the love of Psyche and Cupid. The first part of the book was really nice and I honestly enjoyed. The second and third part were difficult for me as I couldn't understand the purpose of Psyche and feel the strength of her feelings. Unfortunately the interpreation of Ms. Neil in this part of the story was a bit shallow for

I've always loved the story of Eros, er, Cupid, and Psyche, and this is a fun, VERY hot retelling. Especially interesting was how prominent Venus was in this take, but I loved the way the author handled it.

Disclaimer: I'm acquainted with the author via social media.

If you prefer the Greek versions of names (Eros, Aphrodite), it might take you a few minutes to wrap your head around this version, which uses the Roman ones. Also - there is a hint of lesbian play, which stops short of full consummat

Before I get too far ahead of myself, I want to note I don’t read a lot of erotic lit. I’ve flirted with the genre on and off over the years, but I identify almost exclusively as a reader of historical fiction and that is how I approached Zenobia Neil’s Psyche Unbound.

Psyche Unbound is essentially a retelling of the Cupid and Psyche myth. God and mortal fall in love, their bond is tested, promises are broken, and a vengeful

Psyche Unbound was a completely different reading experience. Steeped in mythology, it told the tale of a love found, a love lost and a love renewed.

This story was dark and troubling and yet it was also passionately sweet. I loved the determination and drive that Psyche had. She was certainly stronger than I had originally imagined. She was also wise, although that took some time. Each experience she had revealed a different part of self.

The god of Love was quite the character. Misunderstood a

Psyche stood alone on the beach as the priest of Apollo had commanded. Wearing only a red linen shawl and a golden necklace. The oracle had not said if the monster would eat her or keep her for ill use. There was very little in Psyche’s life she wanted to remember. Suddenly the Goddess of love and beauty Venus towered above Psyche. Venus was more dazzling than any mortal woman could hope to bet more gorgeous than a man could dream. Venus hated Psyche. Then after examining Psyche Venus left. Then ...more

This story started off very strong and it had a lot of potential. I felt for the main character and however the love scenes jump all around or random. The book started to loose me about half way as I felt the author ran out of idea's and just started throwing things at the reader. This made the story turn very odd and it lost the original erotic appeal. I will say it was well written compared to other erotic books. Personally, I would pass on this unless you really like mythology style erotica. ...more

This is such an interesting, unexpected book about a mortal amidst the world of gods. I wasn't completely familiar with the story of Psyche and Cupid, and I know the author took some liberty from the original tellings, but I was quite captivated. The story begins fairly innocently, but quickly turns into an Odyssey-type adventure through grueling trials all in the name of love.

If you're looking for a unique read set in roman mythological times...dive in.

She wove the tale of Psyche into a most memorable yet erotic story. Two thumbs up for Unbound!

Psyche Unbound by Zenobia Neil is a sensuous retelling of the mythological tale of Psyche and the God Cupid. A forbidden love affair between God and woman.

Princess Psyche, whose beauty is so compelling that her kingdom begins to worship her instead of the Goddess Venus, finds herself left naked on a beach, a sacrifice for the insult to the Goddess. Venus is a jealous and bitter Goddess and has decided that Psyche shall be sacrificed to a monster, given to him to do with as he will. To rape her,

This was a very interesting read. Not the type of story I read often, but it was very good.
This story deals with Roman Gods and one special human (Psyche) who is so beautiful that she is sacrificed to a monster. But the monster isn't quite what you would expect from the beginning. I don't want to spoil anything so I can't say too much.
I really enjoyed the interactions with various Gods throughout the story. This is a very steamy book, and I really enjoyed reading it.

As a long time lover of mythology, I went into this story knowing a bit about the tale of the beautiful Psyche and her rather amazing adventures. This version is definitely for the more mature audience, even though this mythological tale has always been somewhat sexual – Zenobia Neil’s interpretation of this romance definitely captures the sensuous and forbidden side of this classic romance.

Psyche Unbound gives us a fascinating, sensuous re-telling of this classic ta

I don't normally read erotica, but I love Greek myth, so was interested when this book was recommended to me. To my enormous delight, the story is beautifully told, and the sex scenes are both erotic and elegantly conveyed. The love Psyche and her husband have for one another is exquisitely described and grows more timeless as it is tested. Neil breathes life into these familiar characters, unfurling the tale in a cinematic style. I hope she continues to write mythological adaptations in this ve ...more

"Psyche Unbound" by Zenobia Neil is a historical erotic romance. This is the story of Roman princess Psyche who has angered Venus, the Goddess of Love and Beauty.

The storyline flowed well. I found this story hard to read. This just is not my normal type of book to read. If you enjoy the combination of Greek mythology and erotic content, then you may enjoy this book.

FYI, includes mature content. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Zenobia Neil paints a dreamy picture of the love affair between Greek gods Psyche and Eros, proving the word “erotic” comes from Eros in the first place. Psyche’s self-discovery takes her from innocent girl to a sensual woman who loves her many and varied sexual pleasures. Intelligent eroticism for the well-read. Who knew?

Mythology meets love in a tale of mistakes, curiosity, jealousy and redemption. Psyche is too beautiful for words and this raises the ire of Venus, goddess of love and beauty. Psyche is summoned to the sea to await whatever payment that her beauty has cost her. Thus begins Psyche’s journey in the home of a monster she comes to love only to destroy it herself and attempt to rectify her error.

I liked this book and it was not what I was expecting. A historical romance with Gods in it. Along with uncertainty, love, loss and hope. I would have liked the ending to have been unfolded more but it didn't take away from the overall story.

Psyche was considered beautiful, more beautiful than Venus Goddess of Love and Beauty. Since Venus is consumed with jealousy she plots to rid the mortal world of this beautiful girl. Thus begins the trials of Psyche and her fight to live and love the God of Love. This is a very intriguing story and one I thoroughly enjoyed. Hopefully there will be more stories like this from this author.

No rating, this started out pretty good, but it kind of took a step to the left and went from erotica/romance to slightly weird, and a little uncomfortable, and 100% not romantic.

"You're just a little mouse, waiting for a lion..."

I can't claim to be au-fait with the actual story of Cupid and Psyche, but if this book is an interpretation of it then although well written, really not one I want to know anymore about.

A shame because the blurb is what intrigued me, but just a little too much
