The Game for a Lifetime: More Lessons and Teachings
Timeless lessons from the master of the game.
This, the fourth book by Harvey Penick, was nearly finished when he died in April 1995. A return to the timeless wisdom that has made his first bestseller, Harvey Penick's Little Red Book, a modern classic, The Game for a Lifetime does not contain the technical swing tips and stance aids of today's instructional guides, but dispenses a philosophy on golf, and on life.
Harvey Penick knew that the teachings in his book would stand the test of time, and he spent his lifetime pursuing and enjoying all that the game has to offer—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The Game for a Lifetime, the final book by Harvey Penick, stands as a wonderful testimonial to this legendary career, his celebrated teaching style, and his ability to affect the lives of the people who had the good fortune to know him.

Have read all the other Harvey Pencil books. Entertaining short notes on his observations of other golfers, friends, teachers, and students of his. A totally dedicated life to golf.

Once again, the reader is privy to the thoughts of Harvey Penick, as he reminisces about the golfers he's befriended and the people he has taught over the years. This book has more stories about golfers that did not become widely known, therefore it was not as interesting as his previous book, Little Red Book: Lessons and Teachings From A Lifetime In Golf.

Came across this title in a teacher’s library, I read Penick’s Little Red Book a few years ago and decided to give this a go. Excellent lessons for any golfer and for life in general. Practice, practice, practice. Highly recommended...SLT

This one was interesting but it covered historical events similar to a much better presented biography of Penick by Kevin Robbins. It contains a few interesting tips but is ima bit light compared to the Little Books.

More short anecdotes and lessons along the lines of Penick's Little Red Book.
Charming.

Good golf tips. He does a good job of breaking down the swing. Some interesting historical tidbits, such as Byron Nelson putted with his right thumb on top of the putter.

This book just wasn’t it for me, way too many chapters and didn’t teach me much about golf!
Too anecdotal for my liking and didnt break things down / explain for a beginner, not the right book for me.

A continuation of the Little Red Book. Another book to re-read often.
