Real potential
This story isn't my typical read and I wasn't really sure what to expect. You can tell while reading this that it is a debut novel. I feel like after a couple more books under her belt that Kristi will have some really great stories. One of my issues with story were the characters. At times they felt immature and some bits felt rushed.

Gyby means to Alter Course
3.5
I really didn’t know what to think about this book at first. There wasn’t any earth shattering secrets or betrayals or any thing that really wow’d me! But I did like the characters. I felt the connection between Nicole and Keagan and that kept me reading and finishing it. The story is really about finding someone who will be there for you and is the perfect match and overcoming your past mistakes.

I absolutely love stories where the lead character has the opportunity to completely transform themselves from the person their circumstances taught them to be. Naturally, I jumped right on the chance to read this book because that is precisely the sort of chance that Nicole had in this story. Over all, I enjoyed the direction the story took and I liked the growth that occurred between both Nicole and Keagan's characters at the start of the book and who they were at the end. Honestly, though,

This book engrossed me from the very start!
Nicole is down on her luck and is scared of what the future will hold for her after she is caught in trouble again. I loved Nicole! She is a young woman trying to survive in a harsh environment. Will this time be her last time in trouble? Will she change her life for the better?
Keagan is a young man from a family of wealth. He is sent to live with his strict, rich uncle and made to carry punt Community Service after getting into trouble for the first ti ...more

People have gotta hit rock bottom before they will ever willingly turn their life around.
I loved this book! After Nicole had been warned by Judge John Newton, if she ever appeared before him again that she would be charged as a adult and be sent to prison. Now she is on her way to court to face him for the third time. Her luck has just ran out.

I loved the beginning of this story. It was an original story, with Nicole going to prison but then finding help. It was a unique beginning but the story fell into some cliches by the end.
I really liked Nicole. I felt attached to her right away. Having her in trouble at the beginning created sympathy for her. At first I wondered who Keagan was, since he is introduced long before he enters Nicole's story. But I liked the clever relationships between characters.

Loved it
A great read. Especially for teens and college kids. Good example for "waiting". Only thing I kept looking for was for the jail bird dad to show up. No loss. Very proud of you Kristi for keeping it clean ...more
