Monsters in the night aren’t what I had to fear.
It was him…
Alone in his bedroom, we fought his demons from the past.
And I kept it all a secret.
I should’ve told.
I should’ve screamed…
But I didn’t. I loved him.
So down the haunted road I went.

oh yes, it's finally here...

I'm once again taking this Haunted Road trip with India R Adams, in Scar me...and I am prepared *wink*

but it might crushingly surprise me...you never know

And like I've said, I was prepared for the possible emotional carnage I would empathize with the main heroine I read about her horrid experience in mixed up painful betrayal of the known familiarity, trust and love that got blurred and shattered by the mental illness, no one seemed to catch on in time to maybe salva

I don't even know where to start with this right now!!!
I've just spend majority of my day devouring this book and now it's come to an end and I feel so empty, and yet so full of emotion that at 12.30 am I need to get this all out before I can go to sleep.
India has given us the second book in this series but what she has done is go back to the beginning for Delilah, to at least a year before Maverick so we can understand the many things that she went through.
This book is going to be a touchy subj

"To truly appreciate beauty, maybe you have to witness or endure the ugly side of life."

Oh, ladies!!! I've asked, begged, for Delilah and Kenny's story for months, imagining the worst. The thing is, never, and I insist, never, would have I imagined how painful and complex their relationship was.

I won't tell you what happened and writing this review is tricky since even explaining the difficult matters Scar Me deals with (and they are numerous), would reveal too much.

With this story, India R.

I received an ARC of this book form the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you India R. Adams!

I don't know about you, but I've waited over TWO YEARS for this book. Man was it ever worth the wait. It's Adams' rawest book to date. She pushes herself as a writer and tries to do justice to Delilah. It's edgy and, well, brilliant.

I don't think I've been this moved by a book before. This is a book about survival. A book about resilience, and weakness. It's about how life isn't all love and r

What a tangled web our emotions can weave! Scar Me is the second book in the Haunted Roads series and this is Delilah’s story. This story takes us to a point in Delilah’s life, a place before the darkness seeped in. I liked getting to know Delilah’s character back when she was young and fresh with all the hope and naïveté that youth brings. Even with all the connections she had to those who loved her she was still helpless to give voice to the darkness that was preying upon her. It was not that ...more

Scar Me is the second book in the Haunted Road series, and believe you me, it has a lot to live up to. Steal Me, the first book in the series had me throwing my kindle at the wall when it finished. Would, and could, this one possibly live up to its predecessor?

Abso-bloomin-lutely it can!!! It starts exactly where Steal Me ends, but then we proceed to go back in time. Back to a time when Lilah wasn't shattered from her experiences. Back to when she thought the world, and people, were good. We sta

When you pick up an India R Adams book you know your in for an emotional experience and this is no exception..This book tackles a really difficult subject and India does it well with so much care, grace and feeling..I felt every word down to my bones..This is much grittier and more raw then her other books and gotta say she did an absolutely fantastic job, once again I was reaching for the tissues and was ugly crying all over my kindle..I'm so full of feeling after th

I received the ARC for this book from the author and I voluntarily read and reviewed it!

This is the 2nd book in India R. Adams' Haunted Road series. The 1st book, STEAL ME, is definitely recommended to read FIRST. But it leaves you wanting more. And India DEFINITELY gives us more in SCAR ME. This book is a very detailed story of how a young woman tries to save so many people she loves, but loses herself once one of those loved ones turn on her. She has to fight and end up meeting the love of her

Please excuse me while I go find my Author Stick for India R Adams. Lol.

I thought the first book, Steal Me, left me shook. Nope this one took the cake. Jesus. I might need anxiety meds.

Rollercoaster after rollercoaster of emotions. We get a look at Lilah’s POV here. And damn if it doesn’t break your heart into a million pieces.

You will fall back in love with Maverick all over again. It’s part of what makes this book special is how nothing is sugarcoated. It’s real. It’s raw. It’s beautiful.

When you read this authors work you always, always need to prepare yourself for a very unique experience. Well once again this book didn't disappoint. She brought all the feels and then some. This time the book got into some nitty gritty, gut wrenching details and experiences that have not been ventured into before at this level. The book even brought the heat level way up. It tackles very current subjects and gets really deep. I’m not talking deep in a hard to understand way. It’s mind blowing. ...more

India!!! Oh, man. I need to find where this author lives so I can throw an egg at her house.
HOW COULD SHE DO THIS TO ME?!
What an ending. Oh. My. God!! #INeedBleedMe
I can’t think clearly right now. I just don’t know what to even say.

Let me back it up a bit.
This book was a hard read. The way India was able to transport me into Delilah’s life, AS DELILAH HERSELF—was truly amazing. It was so bittersweet.
To experience life through Delilah’s young and inexperienced eyes was beautiful. To experie

The 2nd book (waited 2+ yrs for this one) in the Haunted Road series left me with questions just like Steal Me, the first book in the Haunted Roads series. This series needs to be read in order so that you understand Scar Me...

But I didn’t. I loved him.

OMG. India you're killing me. The way you pour yourself into your books and emotionally connect your readers to them is beyond amazing. You my friend are going places.

This second instalment to the Haunted Road series will blow you away.
The way India uses her words to build this story brings so much emotion. I hurt with it. You couldn't fit more emotion into this book if you tried.

Is it possible to hate someone you love? India R. Adams knows the answer and she has shared the Haunted Road that leads us to where Scar Me takes place.

Each of India's books travel further down a path that lend her voice to an emotional past, but provides us with peeks at the BRAVE souls that cling to each other through loyalty and love, hardship and growth, and a final destiny-even if she waits for the next book to share it.

To be honest, I am feeling numb

Wow! I was left speechless, to say the least. The warning of possible triggers had me cautiously reading, not quite knowing what to expect. The emotion, the pure emotion this book evokes is rare in books these days. This is sort of a rewind to better understand what happened and why in the first book Steal Me. It was very emotional for me, I always cry with her books ,but this one had me sobbing, ugly crying and took me about 10 min before I could calm myself down kind of crying.

All I can say is that when I started this it was hard to put down but life got in the way during the day. There have been very few books that stay with me in one way or another and this will be one of those books. It was so raw and emotional that I felt the heartbreak Delilah went through and wished I could reach into the book and hug her and tell her all will be ok.

This book does have VERY tough subject matter and I am a strong person who has been touched by some of this subject matter of this

This book, GAH, this book! These characters! This story! That. Freaking. Ending.

This is the second book of this series and reading book one is a must. This book is not for everyone. The subject matter in this novel is heavy and explicit, but needed to be told, to be shared, to not be hidden away. Not every story is made of fairy tales.

Scar Me is raw... intense... emotional... dark... heartbreaking... beautiful... full of love, family, friends, and healing. This book is made of India R. Adams hea

Deeply emotional, an EPIC coming of age romance which focuses on REAL issues and love… A MUST-BUY!
“SCAR ME” is AMAZING. This newest addition to author India R Adams “Haunted Roads” series takes the reader down Delilah’s road. Written with the most amazing detail, “SCAR ME” virtually pulled me into its pages, so compelling and realistic was this contemporary romance. WOW - Speechless - Destroyed - Damaged - I am all these things
I am somewhere between LIVID and WTH just happened??
This ends on a hellacious cliffhanger - unlike in Steal Me the answers I seek are not just another cast members perspective away. As I closed this book I was shaking (quite literally) from the emotional cliff I was left hanging out on, and there is an ache in my chest!

This book was from Lilah's perspective - heart-wrenching, soul-draining seem like such mild wo

Absolutely amazing. India Adams does it again with Scar Me book 2 in the Haunted Roads series.

While Steal Me was Maverick's story Scar Me is from Delilah's story and what a story it is. We learn why she is closed off and in so much pain from when we met her in Maverick's book and in order to do that we need to go to the beginning. Its certainly not an easy read and to be honest there were a few parts (especially in the beginning) I was wondering where Ms. Adams was going but once this starts pi

I thought I was emotionally ready for Scar Me, after recently devouring Steal Me, but nope, didn't happen. India R. Adams, you did it to me again.

Scar me is Delilah's story, a very emotional and yet unique character we got to know in the previous story, Steal Me. It's not an easy story to tell and it's by far not an easy one to read about, but it's necessary for this story to be what it really is.

Adams has become one of my favorite authors and I'm so happy I discovered her stories this year. I

Ok WOW. Scar Me did not go where I thought it was going to after Steal Me. I was expecting it to follow on but this author took it in a whole different direction that takes you on a massive rollercoaster ride of emotions.

In Scar Me we get taken back in time to hear Delilah's story from when she was just a young girl grieving over her mothers death right up to the present day being married to Maverick. My heart was in pieces on the floor reading this story. Delilah went through so much for someon

My Goodness India what have you done to me? There are no words to describe how I feel.

In Scar me, we see everything from Delilah’s POV. If I thought the first book was worse... then I’m definitely wrong because this book gave me whip lash, it was everything I wasn’t expecting it to be. I was always on edge, trying to figure out what was coming next and after finishing this book my soul feels it and I’m still at a lost for words. This book.... Let me tell you what this book did to me. It gutted me open, that's what. I read STEAL ME back in 2016, and have been impatiently waiting for this new installment. And it didn't disappoint. I was an addict with a fix, cause I literally couldn't put it down. Despite needing sleep. Despite needing to work. (hell, I'm writing this review AT work!).

I truly wish I could give this book more then 5 stars cause I don’t think it’s enough. Scar Me is book 2 in this series and it can’t be read as a stand-alone, you need to read Steal Me first which was the first book I ever read by India Adams and where my obsession lol and admiration for this author started. This book just floored me!
With frightening intensity Ms Adams puts the reader on a see-saw of emotions.
From the friendship of teens, their loves and hates, to the slow descent into co-dependency and madness. The unraveling of a tortured mind that turns into a torturer himself. The final horrific assault and its aftermath is not really the end but the beginning of life altering decisions.
Their lives seem to be so simple, until you realize that most everyone in their circle is just wearing a mask

I thought Steal Me was an incredible story. But Scar Me leaves that in the shade. It's an absolutely phenomenal read!
It is so full of emotion - love, despair, pity and confusion. I began reading and laughed at Diesel and his mannerisms, a wonderful character. Then the story really began and we went back in time to discover what actually happened to Delilah. And that...became so emotional I felt her pain and confusion.
And then there's the spanner in the works! Yes, this tale has a big twist, one

Scar Me is book two of The Haunted Roads series. It is an emotional new adult drama that features serious themes: sexual abuse, drug addiction and mental health. I highly recommend reading book one first and if possible, read the books straight after each other.

This a Delilah's story. In book one of the series we read about Delilah's boyfriend, Maverick and her brother Tucker. Each part of this series is narrated from a different character's point of view, which is deeply layered and you really
