LATEST PROJECTS:
Nestle down for a joyride of unparalleled mistletoe mischief as multiple award-winning author Kat Bastion unveils five brand-new multicultural romantic comedies in… Half-baked Holidays.
AND
The final two novels in The Unbreakable Series, Icebreaker and Ball Breaker are both coming soon!
I didn't think this series could get any better. I was so very wrong.
After making it through both of their pasts, Cade and Hannah are stronger together than ever...but the success of both of their professional lives may just be what makes everything unravel.
Anyone who has done the long-distance thing will tell you it's hard. Unbelievably hard. And there's only just so much that calling, texting and emailing can do-an unhappy fact that Cade and Hannah get to find out firsthand in Three Christmases. But if you want to see how two people who are meant to be together handle it, this is the perfect example.
The tension ramps back up with all of the time they have to spend apart, and the always exceptional writing, insanely strong and loving characters, and continuing humor-as well as that tension-are going to keep you glued to the pages...again. Meaning, clear your schedule because you will NOT want to put this book down.
The relationships are complicated, the drama intense, the fun banter ever-present...and it all adds up to a fantastic ending and an amazing series that you'll want to re-read again...and again...and probably again.
Another well-deserved 5-stars for the unputdownable Three Christmases!
The Espionage Effect
If you're looking for excitement, action, romance and thrills all wrapped up in one tremendous package, The Espionage Effect is exactly what you're looking for. A solid 4-star read for me, and definitely recommended for romantic suspense fans!
Bound by Wish and Mistletoe
I'm always up for a good highlander romance, and Bound by Wish and Mistletoe fit that bill perfectly. A bit of excitement, a feisty young woman trying to claim her independence, and of course our highlander-the commander in his clan-that will absolutely make you swoon with the respect and reverence he shows for our heroine.
Susanna's character is brave and spirited, escaping from a life that was about to become even more restricted than she'd already experienced. Robert is strong, a highly skilled warrior and protector. The pull between them is immediate, more so for Robert since Susanna is still trying to get free of her confining existence and is not willing to trust any man whatsoever.
Things between them become intense, with scenes showing great tenderness alongside great passion. This along with the action and a bit of magic make this a captivating tale that you won't want to put down. 4.5 stars from me-it would have been 5 except Susanna's poor decision making near the end just rankled me a bit. I'd highly recommend this to highlander romance fans 18+ (for explicit sexual content).
Overall for the box set
This is a fantastic set, well worth the price for three wonderful stories. The writing is excellent, the storytelling smooth and engrossing, and these are books you'll want to re-read in the future-I know I do!
“Three Christmases couldn’t have been more perfect...The No Weddings Series is one of the best I have read that follows one couple.” ~ Lives and Breathes Book Blog
“Full of happiness, friendship, love and hot sexiness, Three Christmases is yet another gem from The Bastion’s that is so very perfect for this holiday season!” ~ Under the Covers Book Blog
On THE ESPIONAGE EFFECT:
“Amazing! James Bond spy games fun with a splash of erotic romance. It's twisty and turny and kept me on the edge from cover to the end.” ~ Jezabell Girl & Friends
On BOUND BY WISH AND MISTLETOE:
“I LOVED it! Bound by Wish and Mistletoe is, to my mind, a perfect entry in the historical/paranormal fiction genre and has quite a bit to offer.” ~ Fab Fantasy Fiction
“Move over, Julia Quinn and Sabrina Jeffries! Kat Bastion is an absolutely gifted author and deserves to be recognized for her talent.” ~ LovesHistorical Book Reviews
Tinsel, Sand & Snow has all my favorites by Kat and Stone Bastion nicely gathered together. So perfect for me.. and all the fans of the authors. Add to that, that all of them are set around the holidays and you get a perfect little gift.
I really enjoyed re-reading my favorite works by the authors. And two things stood out for me: -I love the writing style and character building - as you know those are super important for me. -BUT more than that, they are very diverse authors. Reading three different setting side by side, hammered that home. I love all three setting and I really adore the character building in all three. Each has its completely own feel, bound together by the wonderful writing style.
Three Christmases being the most "realistic"is set in modern day US. The last of the No Weddings Series, works well as a standalone. But frankly be OCD about this one, read the other 3 as well, because you don't wanna miss all of Cade - or the slow burn chemistry and wonderful building of a interesting relationship (neither the smut) My favorite in the series and rereading just reaffirmed this. Cute story line, interesting characters and just swoony.
The Espionage Effect is has a fabulous James Bond feel to it, is set mostly in Mexico and comes with all the goodness I have come to expect from the Bastions. It is more smutty than the other books, which for many of you will appreciate I am sure. Sadly this is a standalone, I mean sadly because I really like the world it was set, I love the mystery and I was am still hoping that there will be more set in this world.
Bound by Wish and Mistletoe is a novella set in Kat Bastions Series Highland Legends. Set in historical Scotland,it features alpha-dudes and kilts. It is totally smutty-licious and sizzling. Great intro into the series, even if it is set after the first book. I hope that the re-release means Kat will be publishing book 2 in the series soon?
Basically, if you like the Bastions, get yourself a holiday treat. If you don't know them, this is a great entry to their works. For me it brought home the fact that I am actually waiting on several of their novels to be released. The next one being Rule Breaker from the Unbreakable series, a spin-off from No Wedding (release date: 11/6/16). Tinsel, Sand & Snow was a nice little tie-me-over until then and wonderful reminder why I love the authors.
What catches your interest in a story? A hot and sexy alpha male? A spunky heroine who can hold her own in a man's world? Hot, sexy times regardless of the subgenre? If you answered yes to any of those questions, this set of stories has something for you!
Three Christmases is a full length story that is part of the No Weddings series. After Hannah and Cade's struggle to find their HEA, they are finally getting to enjoy themselves when Cade receives a once in a lifetime job offer. The catch is that it will take him cross country to the West Coast while Hannah's thriving business is on the East Coast and location means everything for her. Long distance relationships are always difficult, and when Mother Nature decides to throw a tantrum a few times along the way, it just becomes more complicated. Will one of them have to give up their dreams in order for them to be together, or will they find a way to compromise?
I read The Espionage Effect last year, and I loved it! This book kept me riveted from front to back. I love James Bond and romantic suspense stories, and this book has elements of both. The incredibly descriptive writing style took a little getting used to, but given the way Devin's mind processes information, it was entirely necessary in my opinion. You can read my full review HERE
Last but not least, Bound by Wish and Mistletoe is a novella from Kat's Highland Legend series set in the Scottish Highlands. If you enjoy historical romance, check out Susannah and Robert's story; they have the hot, steamy, alpha and spunky categories checked off!
