My name is Lexie Wilder—or at least that is what I believe it is.
I have too much time to think as I remain locked within these four walls…Alone.

What plagues me most is the fact that Jackson lied to me. But I cannot bring myself to hate him no matter how hard I try. The look on his face when I was taken haunts me, but maybe not everything was a lie...

I have been torn from my life and tossed into dangers I could’ve never imagined. I have seen horrific things that will haunt me for the rest of my days. Though nothing has made my blood run as cold as knowing the possibility that the man who keeps me captive could be my father...

What would that make me?

This book starts off right where the last one ended. Right from the get go you are on a roller coaster ride of emotions. |
The anticipation of what will happen next. Will Jackson get his revenge and find out all of the secrets to what really happened to his father.
I did hate the part that Lexie played to pull one over on her bodyguard. I had wished that what happened with her mother could have had a better ending.
She fought so hard to keep John away from her and her daughter for it to end that way was wrong.
The twist and the end that involved Nate I didn't see coming which is always a plus when you figure it out way before it happens.
I hope we get more on what goes on with Stephanie but I really want to know what Dane and Teddy's story is.
Awesome book and I did not want to put it down.

WHAT AN ACTION PACKED BOOK. I'm really falling hard for this series now. Book 2 was oh so amazing. It was like each chapter was packed with a new adventure and lots of action. This book starts with Stephanie being in hostage by the mysterious rose tattooed girl kidnapper. My most favorite part or rather the entire book, lol, is that we get to read perspectives from all the important characters of the story and I really loved being in all their minds. Well You have to read this one and now I really need to hop on to the last one. Loved loved this one 😍 😍

Levels of Exposure is a suspense filled ride! The story picks up from where the first book left off. There’s a sense of urgency as you’re reading. From the start, the story grabs you and it’s all fast paced after that. I couldn’t put it down! I had to know what was next. What I really loved about this book was the touch of darkness it had compared to the first. I give this 5 stars

Levels of Exposure is an intense, action packed, deep dark story. I was completely engrossed in the story from the beginning to the end. This book is the second in a three part series and I loved this one as much as the first book. Aimee McNeil did an incredible job writing this. The characters were well developed, believable and full of emotion. It's so intense you feel like you are going through everything with each of the characters. I can't wait to read the third book in this series.

I was gifted an ARC of this book and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Levels of Exposure is a passionately explosive, adrenaline-laced thrill ride that doesn’t falter or stop. This part of the journey takes you deeper into the dark underbelly of hidden evil where you can easily lose all sense of right and wrong. What you watch unfold is an incredible effort put forth by a steadfast love and deep devotion between longtime friends wanting nothing more than to right a terrible wrong. This is a story that will hold your heart captive and make you truly appreciate every second of life.

Lexie finds herself a captive of the man she hoped never to meet. She and her mother are at the mercy of a madman claiming to be her father. Attempting to stay alive long enough to figure a way out of this never-ending nightmare, she uses all the tricks she can think of without crossing a fine, invisible line. When a bit of luck shines on her, she grabs onto a few precious seconds to contact Jackson on the outside in the hopes he can find a way to get to her. Jackson’s desperate prayers are answered when he gets a break and hears from Lexie. Will Jackson risk everything to get Lexie and her mother to safety only to fufill his long desired need for revenge, or will he find another reason to keep them safe and alive?

I have been waiting on this part of this wonderfully exciting adventure, and it never disappointed once. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The characters surprised me at every turn. Jackson’s shift in focus was incredible and heartwarming to watch. I loved seeing how much changed in the story itself along with the marvelous characters I was able to get to know. I didn’t think I could, but I feel in love with these characters even more. That is the sign of a fantastic story!

Aimee McNeil is a marvelously talented author who knows how to create a wondrous depth to her characters and gift us with a truly magnificent storyline. I have enjoyed her meticulously crafted world full of mystery, intrigue, and surprises. I can’t wait to read the next installation to this phenomenal adventure! Don’t miss out and catch up before you get too far behind.

Levels of Exposure (Distortion #2) by Aimee McNeil

Levels of Exposure is about Lexie who is locked in a room separated by her mother. Jackson will do whatever it takes to get Lexie back. Stephanie who is Lexie’s best friend is missing. This story is packed with so much action, crime, suspense and darkness. It kept me on my toes. I didn’t want to stop reading as it was a well-written story. I really can’t give much details. Levels of Exposure continues where book 1-Degrees of Distortion left off. I would recommend reading these books in order so you fully can understand what is happening in this marvelous action packed book.

Lexie and Jackson are still my favorite characters. They have so much interest for each other. In this book I especially felt scared for Stephanie. What that girl went thru is unbelievable and I’m glad of the outcome.
There are two characters in this story that I can’t stand. John Stodden and another guy whose name I’m not going to say as I want others to have a chance to read this story however those two characters needed to be in the story.

This series is unlike anything I have ever read. I have enjoyed reading the series so far and I can’t wait for book 3 to come out in January!
Parts of the story I liked:
“He only needed to find the weak spot and crack Stodden’s whole operation wide open.”
One of the guys that was helping Stodden was nicer to Lexie than the others.
Around 37% mark that’s when the story got really interesting.
“He wanted to piece her life back together as much as possible with a desire that drove him more than anything else.”
“Stop looking at me like you expect me to burst into tears.”
Last but not least my favorite quote of this story: “I love the rush as it heats my blood.” …. “That’s what it was like when I was with you.”
Plot-4.5/5
Characters- 4.5/5
Heat- 3.5/5
Writing Style- 4.5/5
Overall Rating- 4.5/5

First, many thanks to Aimee McNeil, who provided a free copy of Levels of Exposure in exchange for an honest review. This is the follow up to the excellent Degrees of Distortion, and picks up right where it left off.

Lexie Wilder and her mother have been kidnapped by the sinister John Stodden, a man from her mother’s past who may or may not be Lexie’s father. Lexie cannot decide which option might be worse: to find out that she shares blood with this evil man, or not, and likely wind up sold to the highest bidder. She fears for her mother, upon whom John is almost certainly going to take his wrath out on, and her friend Stephanie, taken along with them.

On the outside, lawman Jackson Finley is tapping old contacts on the wrong side of the law, desperately trying to locate Lexie. He entered this situation in the hopes of finding proof that his father was killed by John Stodden, and quickly found himself falling for Lexie. Now, it’s not just about righting the wrongs of the past. It’s about rescuing the girl who has stolen his heart.

In another place, Stephanie finds herself in the most harrowing situation of all….locked in a cage, attended only by a madman who calls her another woman’s name.

Aimee McNeil tells an excellently written tale of suspense, action, crime and depravity. The action moves like a rocket sled, and transports the reader from the height of opulence, to a dank basement, conveying a sense of dread on par with an excellent horror movie. Evil wears many faces, and it’s up to Lexie to outsmart her captors if she wants to save her life.

The third book, Shades of Resolution, will release in January. I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

Levels of Exposure is the second book in the
Distortion Series by Aimee McNeil. You need to read the Degrees of Distortion first before you start reading Levels of Exposure because this story is a continuation from where the first story left off. I could rewrite parts of the synopsis & give you some small spoilers for my review of Levels of Exposure but I want you, the readers, to experience the story like I did. Aimee did a magnificent job writing this story so uniquely, it's well written and clearly thought out that it will keep you glued to the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens with Jackson, Lexie and her friends. It's told from several different characters points of views through out the story. Which gives you a unique perspective of the story not just from the main characters, Jackson & Lexie. It lets you see the story from virtually almost everyone’s views, which I've never seen in a book before. Level of Exposure is action-packed, it is filled with suspense, crime, mystery, and intrigue that had me up reading all throughout the night. Now, I'm sitting on pins & needles waiting on the third book, Shades of Resolution, that will be releasing in January. If you haven't started reading this series then you need to start now, so that you are ready when the third book comes out next month.

4.5 Amazing Stars! This is the second book in the Distortion Series and should be read in order to fully understand the book. Lexie and her mother are captive in the arms of the man Lexie hoped she never would meet. Jackson is trying to figure out how he can help Lexie when he gets a break and hears from her. Will Jackson be able to rescue Lexi and her mother? Ms. McNeil writes a well-written story full of crime, action and suspense. The story leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat needing to know more! You feel all the emotions of the characters and it makes you feel like you are there with them. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and now I'm anxiously awaiting the third book in the series! This is a must-read series!

This book as with the first was a bit out of the genre that I normal read, it's a lot of suspense with bits of steam mingled in. But it was enough of both to keep my hooked from begining till end. In the beginning things moved a bit slow but later things speed up and I can't wait to read the next one.

This book unlike anything that I usually read, is something that I think you'll enjoy even if your like me and you're not drawn to suspenseful books. Aimee McNeil writes a great story that's not only a love story or even a story of just two people there's a lot going on and enough to hold you on the edge of your seat.

I can't wait to read the next installment of this story and I hope that you grab a copy too, I think that you'll for sure enjoy it.

I really loved that this one picked right after the first. And you are thrown headlong into this insane crazy world of that is so sinister and dark. Your heart races wondering what is going to happen next. What was great is you get to see the store for various perspectives and you get a great sense of what is going on.
From Lexie fighting to save her and her mom and being able to put on such a strong face through the whole ordeal. To Jackson that wants revenge above all else but needs Lexie too. Then you get the whole back story of it all. Was a great culmination of everything and I really need to know how it ends!!!

This is a difficult book to describe on it's own because it's the second of a three part series that absolutely MUST be read in order.
Stephanie is a friend if the lead character Lexie, and is being held prisoner by a very disturbed man. Our "hero" is doing his best to reach all those that need it but his past dealings keep throwing up obstacles.
A violent series with some scenes that might be upsetting. Once you start the first book you will need to read them all.
