When Decima Blake contacted me about Hingston’s Box I was immediately sold by the cover and the blurb but I was also a bit apprehensive because she sort of mentioned there was a paranormal element present. This can be a hit or miss for me but I’m happy to say that it did work wonderfully this time and in my opinion it even added a little zest to the story and the intrigue.

Jason Hingston is the detective in the story who’s put on leave because he’s having nightmares (or are they visions?) ever si

Hingston's Box is a quick read police drama with a paranormal twist. Det Sgt Hingston can't sleep and is suffering night terrors, all starting at the same time that twin boys have gone missing. With police scrabbling to find even the thinnest of threads they can use to move their investigation forward, Hingston is put on medical leave by occupational health.

He travels to Devon to stay with his uncle Zach and in Dartmouth he meets a mysterious old women, he also discovers an old musical box in a

This story is a unique blend of historical mystery, detective drama with a number of paranormal elements. The twists and turns are good and really keep you guessing, although they sometimes were a bit confusing; I had to reread a few pages back at times. Having said that, the book never looses it pace and keeps you interested until the very last page. The characters are written fairly well even though there is only one, the title character Hingston, that the story follows from the first page to ...more

The story is Unique.Brilliantly written. It’s a police drama with paranormal activities in it. I loved the twists and turns in the book from past to present. Though it’s a bit confusing at times but at the same time it did not loose its pace. The characters were nicely depicted. Overall it’s an amazing read.

This book was very well done. Usually I find stories that go from the past to the present tend to be confusing at times. This was a seamless work that entertained and kept you engaged from start to finish.
