Chapter 1 now includes a section on how managed health care affects women's health care. Each chapter features a section on case studies for self-evaluation, and authors provide case study closure in this edition. An extensive section on self-evaluation that contains questions organized by chapter is found at the end of the book.

I began reading this book to facilitate my knowledge in the field. I am now at 25% of it. I can say that the positive things are that it is very simple and easy to read. You can even take it on vacations. It also can be read by people who are concerned with this issue like new mothers because it contains good information on the normal situations which are sometimes missed by other medical books. Graphs and tables are also good and interesting. The bad side of the book is that it is not enough for a medical student. It does not go into enough details of many important medical situations. I do not recommend it for a student who wants a comprehensive explanation of many medical abnormal situations.

Saya lupa kalo punya buku ini. Hahaha, menjelang week 8 di stase Obgyn, baru nyadar kalo punya. Sebelumnya cuma baca dari penerbit Sarwono. Buku ini ringkas tapi mencukupi lah kalo buat dokter muda
Poin plusnya, ada latihan soal (dan kunci jawabannya) di bagian belakang

As a future ob/gyn, I found this book to be very enlightening. It starts way before conception, focusing on what a woman should do before planning a baby (such as taking folic acid) and goes well past labor and delivery. It also has a few graphic pictures, so it is not for the faint of heart. It is full of medical jargon, so if you are interested in the field, it's definitely a good book to have.

Readable and well organized with good illustrations, my only complaint is that there aren't any questions in the book. Fortunately, there are several sources of online questions that go well with it, since it closely follows the APGO learning objectives. The pre-highlighting of key points makes it better for reviewing than most texts of this density.

Some things are great, t there's a lot of fluff. Also, they sometimes don't talk about how to treat certain things (i.e. Placental acreta etc). But overall it was an easy read. The cancer sections are very detailed, if you're into gyn onc.

Nice concise book to keep on hand for my ob/gyn rotation. I didn't feel like I needed any extra supplements and it covered almost every topic I encountered in practice and in my class objectives.
