Cynthia Rutledge started writing after taking a class at a local community college. But her interest in the written word started years earlier when she was in her teens. At sixteen she wrote in her diary, "I don't know what I would do if I couldn't be a writer."

It took Cindy years to return to her first love---writing. Unlike some writers, Cindy wasn't interested in shorter works of fiction. She jumped feet first into book length fiction. She loves reading and writing romance because she believes in the power of love and in happily ever after. An incurable romantic, Cindy loves seeing her characters grow and learn from their mistakes and, in the process, achieve a happy ending.

Cindy hopes that once you read her books you'll be able to tell she is an eternal optimist, one who truly believes in the power of love. She invites you to kick off your shoes, pick up one of her books and get to know her.

She now writes for Harlequin Special Edition and Montlake Romance under Cindy Kirk. Check out her website www.cindykirk.com, friend her on Facebook and follow her on twitter @cindykirkauthor

DNF @ 56 pages.

Libby is a terrible person. She's wealthy, doesn't like being liked for her money, so she offers to trade lives with her best friend for the summer. She's going to work two jobs for three months while her friend drives her expensive car and does nothing. HOW again does this impact her situation? It doesn't. It makes no sense.

So Libby shows up at work and doesn't WANT to work, so she finagles her way out of working, shows up late, doesn't work if she can help it when she *IS* there... hates everything about it, can't get up with an alarm, acts privileged and high-class instead of melding in...

... Worse, she's a liar, in every way. She lies about her name, her job, her car, her background. She lies when she says she'd 'never chase after a man', but in the same breath asks her boss out to dinner, and then dresses up to impress him, and then chases after him...

As for this being a 'Love, INSPIRED' book? There's nothing inspiring about a bratty rich chick who couldn't tell the truth to save her soul. On top of that, she HAS NO FAITH - when she sees Carson with a Bible, she makes sure he isn't gonna go all 'witnessing' on her, she fakes about her faith (which is non-existent)... So... Love Inspired? Really?

I'm sorry. Maybe she and her character are redeemed later in the book, but I don't need this whole premise of false pretenses and bad behavior. I have better things to read.
