A dragonfly spends most of its life beneath the water.

Seventeen year old Anna Page has lived her whole life at the bottom of a trailer park. The dreamcatcher in her bedroom was supposed to prevent bad dreams, but it doesn’t help when your whole life’s a nightmare. Once again Julie Dawn gave me an adrenaline rush from hell. This is a speedy little novella, and I devoured it in two evenings. The story is told within the same time table as Yosemite Rising, and it's a wonderful way to introduce a new characters into that timeline. I am guessing/hoping that Anna and Elizabeth will cross paths. I love how this book made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack at every turn. Having read Yosemite rising (the 1st book). I was interested to see how the story continues.
It still has zombies but they are in the background as the story process
Lots of twists and turns and 'what just happened moments'

Sometimes this feels a little disjointed but this is a new author but I can see a vast improvement on her first book.

This is a must read! Great characters. Can't wait to see what happens in the next books.

While I enjoyed reading more of the story, this one took an unexpected turn that was far left field, but it seemed to gather toward the end. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Meadowlark series, and hoping to connect some dots that are dangling-keeping us all anticipating. There are two things, at the very least, that Julie Dawn does well: writing, and keeping us wanting more!

Needed more

This 2/nd book of the series left me dissatisfied. It didn't seem to h ave a direction but I know it should have, maybe I missed it. Anyway. It left me wanting to know it's purpose. It just seemed unfinished, incomplete.

Julie Dawn grew up in southern Jersey, spending the summers collecting bee stingers in her feet. After graduating from Richard Stockton College, she dipped her toes in the environmental field for a few years, got married, moved to North Carolina, and finally got to become a mom. Four years of living in state parks was enough to make her relocate to the Oregon Coast. Under bright stars, she started ...more
