Cruel Temptation is the second book in (The Covenant Series) by Betty Shreffler ,and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading both these stories. Ms Shreffler has given us another great story that has action, romance ,and oh boy the chemistry is awesome, and the emotions of the characters was really well captured by the author. Ok so this is the second book in the series and i have to say i liked it better than the first. There is more action and suspense. Kayci is now a full fledge vampire and is tbe head of the coven. The second book was even better than the first book. It brought in new character's that I really liked, especially Cass. In this book Kayci loses a friend that pushes her to a darker side of herself, but is pulled back by the one's who love her. I like that Kayci went a little darker and we got to see that side of her. The second book was set up so well for the third book. I can't wait to read the third!

I did not think it was possible but this 2nd book in the Covenant series I thought was even better than the 1st. Kaci has even more things thrown on her plate and she does her best to juggle it all but boy is there only so much even a Vampire Sorceress can take. She does get "help" but that's a whirlwind of it's own. Book #2 does not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done! But prepare for a battle of your own.

Im in love with Kacyi and how absolutely strong, forgiving and loving she is. Rosemary is guiding her into the person she is meant to be. Along with Thorne and Adrian. As the new Covenant is rebuilt and new alliances are tested this peacefulness comes with an unease and resentfulness. As Katerina aka Kayci fights for peace between the three species others are working to cause a downfall in leadership.
Finished this in a day! Loved it more than the first. The action, romance, and chemistry is amazing. The author really captures the emotions of the characters. Kayci has developed into a strong lead and the addition of the new characters make this one better than the first. Can't wait to read the third.

I was really excited to jump into reading Cruel Temptation after reading Embrace the Dawning. The action continues as Kayci tries to bring witches and werewolves into the Covenant but it's not an easy task. With Adrian being the faithful guardian and new characters introduced. Kayci finds herself attracted to Cass even though she loves Adrain. The world Betty Shreffler has built is unique and I am excited for book 3.
