I see you looking at me sideways. Yes, I know and I'm sorry but let me tell you why this was a near miss for me.

A Harmless Little Game falls within the romantic suspense genre which is one of my favorite genres because it's so deliciously thrilling.
......Your nerves should be shot and your nails chewed raw by the end of a suspenseful story. This story attempts but didn't quite connect with me; indulge me while I tell you the 3 reasons. (1) The plot holes (2)
I love books with dark, suspenseful storylines that keep you guessing right to the end. After reading the blurb for 'A Harmless Little Game' I knew that this was a book that I'd be reading ASAP. For the most part, it lived up to my expectations. However, there were definitely some things that I thought could have been executed better.

First of all, as my friend Bibi pointed out in her review, the likelihood that Lindsay could have been held involuntarily for four years, is not likely. Sure, her m

This is the first book of a three book series that will all be released by December 13th. The story is suspenseful and made for a quick read while leaving me with a slew of questions and willing to read the next book. The story starts with the heroine, Lindsay Bosworth, a senator’s daughter being released from a medical center after a four year stay. She’s been recovering from an attack that had went viral on the web and her father has decided that it’s time for her to return home as hi

WOW!! What an intense start to a story!

Lindsay's virginity was stolen from her by three college boys, if that's not bad enough it was broadcast live over the internet. Lindsay's dad is a very prominent politician and this 'scandal' just has to go away in his opinion, so poor Lindsay is sent away for four years to a psychiatric centre on an island.

I would have literally gone insane if I was Lindsay. Imagine being gang raped then having the public all think you wanted it and eve

A Harmless Little Game (Harmless #1) by Meli Raine is the first thing I have read by this author and it was that oh so intriguing blurb that initially attracted me to this book, that was such a killer of a synopsis, in my opinion, it actually deserves a rating all on its own.
So A Harmless Game is the first instalment in the Harmless Trilogy it is written from Lindsays POV and follows the story of Lindsay and Andrew after Linsay's release from "The Island " Where she's been re

Four years ago the unspeakable happened to Lindsay. Violated in the worst way while her boyfriend and the man she loved sat and watched. Now Lindsay is back and looking for revenge. But things are not exactly as they seem and soon the past is coming back with a vengeance and no one is to be trusted...

WHOA, so this book sucked me in from page one. I am dying to untangle all these knots of mystery. Who are the bad guys? What is everyone hiding? Will Lindsay finally get justice? SO many questions..

This is a deeply emotional story. Lindsay suffers through something terrible at the hands of people she thought were friends. Even after an isolated recovery, her return is punctuated by mysterious occurrences intended to hurt her. Drew, her ex-boyfriend and witness to the crime perpetuated on her, was hired by her father as her head of security. This emotional component is very hard to accept as there is a big mystery surrounding Drew's role in the traumatic event. Lindsey seems to transform be ...more

I'm giving this book 5 stars mostly because of how fast it gripped my attention and of how well it kept it.

Four years ago, Lindsay brutally lost her virginity on camera. The video went viral and EVERYONE saw her torment. The kicker? Her boyfriend, Drew, the love of her life, sat there and watched it all. Didn't lift a damn finger to help her. During the four years, Lindsay was isolated at an institute for "recovery" (cute name for a mental institution), but now she's free and has come home.

A great, quick read that has left me with so many questions and thoughts. I have no idea what's happening or how this story will play out, so I'm diving into the next book now! I'll be back. <3

I'm hesitant to rate this as a 5 star because I'm not totally sold on the love aspect yet but I've got two books to go, so that's excellent. But with that being said, I have enjoyed this more than other books that I've rated 4 stars recently, so let's go with 4.5. I love the storyline and fast moving plot

I knew going in this was going to be an emotional read and I got that. The problem is that I expected my emotions to be full of revenge and anger for what was done to her. Instead I find I"m extremely conflicted...

I wanted this totally kick ass heroine who came back from the "island" focused on getting back at those who wronged her. What I got was a heroine who....well, I'm not sure exactly how to describe her. Her actions for the majority of the book

I liked this one. And I'm definitely curious to see what happens next. I'm super happy it's going to be in Drew's POV! I guess if I had one issue with this book, it was that I felt as if Lindsay's (the main character) reactions to her current situation were a little off. In some parts they were not extreme enough. That said, I REALLY LIKED IT. I couldn't put it down. And I'm IN THIS till the end.

I had high expectations only for it to be dashed into a million pieces with this book. The heroine is beyond aggravating and immature. She calls her private part "my V." *rolls eyes dramatically* I expected our heroine here to have some fire and wittyness to her, but I got a weak and horny heroine.

She's raped brutally by three men while her boyfriend sits and watch. So what does she do when he's hired as her security head? You would think that she would confront him for not protecting her or sla

I read another series by this author and really liked it so tried to give this a decent shot. There were some real question marks regarding certain plot points, but I figured the author could tie them together later. What killed it for me is that this author wrote a totally lackluster dishrag or a male main character. I don’t understand why she wrote him the way that she did. We are assaulted over and over again with how horrific the heroines rape was. The author really wanted to drive it home. ...more

Drew and Lindsay. Book 1. All from Lindsay’s POV. It could be classified as a second chance romance for Drew & Lindsay. Ends with a cliffhanger. Trigger: gang rape

The Story:
Lindsay has been through hell and honestly I would like to throat punch both her parents. Talk about unsupportive, manipulative and selfish. Geez.

Drew is a bit of a mystery. Seeing as the book is from Lindsay’s POV we only get the pieces of him he is willing to share. Towards the end of the book he finally r

I got this book as a freebie and sometimes I think books that are often free may not be has good as a book that I purchase. This was not one of those books this was a really good book. This book has a subject that people are talking about on facebook stupid people are posting crimes live. Lindsay as Senator's daughter was gang raped and they took video and it went viral. Wow! I couldn't put it down. Lindsay went through an ordeal no one should ever have to experience, followed by being a prisoner for four years. Her father brings her home with Drew as her personal security. She thought she could never trust him again. She quickly finds that everything she thought she knew is false and the truth is so much more. A story full of pain, deceit, love, passion, attempts at healing, and revenge. I can't wait for the rest of the series. Book one does end on a cliff hang ...more

Holy hell, what did I just read?
This is going to be one extremely twisted series.

You know those books that suck you in within the first few pages, keep you glued to your seat and refusing to see anything outside of those pages until your finished with the very last page?
That's what A Harmless Little Game was to me.
This is a twisted thrill ride, taking the reader high then low, giving you hope and then taking it away only to hint at getting it back.

As soon as I read the blurb for this book, I knew I would be hooked. A Harmless Little Game by Meli Raine has everything from edgy content to sexual abuse to politics, backstabbing friends and scandals as well as family drama. Four years ago, the main character Lindsay who was a Senator's daughter attended a frat party with her boyfriend at the time Drew. The night ended horribly as Lindsay ended up gang-raped and a video of the incident went viral. The joys of social media. Her family like mos ...more

A Harmless Little Game is the first book in the Harmless series and what a shocking way to start. What Lindsay goes through is not only shocking, emotional, and dark, the aftermath I think is worse. The betrayals she has had happen to her since that fateful night make you angry for her, the people you would think would 100% have her back and don’t you want to take a baseball bat and beat them with it. A new-to-me-author with the first installment in her new political thriller/romantic suspense trilogy. I'm a huge fan of political thrillers and the book blurb really grabbed my attention. Sounds like a dark and gritty storyline. So, I one-clicked and started in on what was a riveting read from the very start to the finish amid political intrigue and family drama.

Kinks in the storyline had me struggling to believe and process several issues throughout the storyline. Drew and Lindsay are caught

Very intriguing. Just what I was looking for!
A mysterious suspenseful romance with the perfect amount of thriller and darker theme.
The character development was so strong, I could actually imagine and see each character so uniquely. Hats off to the writer for that!
Lindsay is an amazingly strong and sassy woman considering what she has been through and what she is currently going through. Except Drew and her friend Jane, I hate everyone around her. (Excluding Silas, of course)
