SO HERE I am spending spring break in California with my best friend, Junie. Our chaperone is a teenager, like us. And soon I'll get to hang out with the coolest, cutest boy in the Southwest. Life is so good.
Except I should tell you that I'm not actually in San Diego for fun. Even though I'm a normal person who likes normal stuff--friends, clothes, the mall--I'm supposed

Sherry was your normal teen, she liked going to malls, dreaming of boys, and hanging with friends. But it all changes when her mother (a dead cop) reaches to her and needs her help to solve a mystery, but by the cover you see she does not like mysterys. But she helps her mom so she can become an animal and walk the earth, watching over sherry and her little brother.

This book was good! It was a funny story which i enjoyed! I really like mysteries and this was a good one!

Don’t know what to get an almost-teen girly girl?...a girl who rolls her eyes at all things Middle Earth/Hogwarts?...a girl who is just venturing into the world of messy emotions, boys and malls (…and not in that particular order)?

Chuck her a copy of 'I So Don’t Do Mysteries' and she won’t hate you too much.

Sherlock ‘Sherry’ Holmes Baldwin has a lot on her plate. Her widowed dad is getting married to her Maths Teacher (no less!), her l'il brother is being a pain as only l'il brothers can be, the

The book "I so don't do mystery's" was a very action packed book! I really like this book because it used a look of descriptive words and the author Barrie Summy made the book unique with the way she put everything together. She did a very good job in this book, the one thing that its lacking is that it starts off very slow and confusing because she just throws things in that with make you puzzled for a second but then you will get it after you think about everything that happened in the book. I So Don’t do Mysteries, by Barrie Summy, is a fun book about a 7th grade girl named Sherry, solving mysteries with her mom. The only problem is, her mom is a ghost. Over spring break Sherry expects to have a great time in California having fun with her best friend and hanging out with her crush. Suddenly, her mom arrives as a ghost. Sherry is really excited until her mom informs her that she is flunking the academy of spirits and Sherry has to spend her spring break helping her mom solve a myst ...more

The author in I So Don't Do Mysteries It doesen't tell the writters perpus directly but the subject of the book is that it is kind of a mystery but kind of not because the girl in the book doesen't want to figure out the mystery but she ends up solving the mystery with her friends. The style of the author's purpus of the book is so that the girl could have fun with her friends and solve the mystery at the sametime so she doesen't think to much about her parents and her friends.

Sherry Baldwin is an average 13 year old. SHe has a crush on cutie Josh, she has a lot pf good friends, and she has a ghost mother. So maybe shes not so average. Normal or not, her mom's afterlife is in danger, and its up to Sherry to stop the criminals, or risk losing her mother again.

First impression: I first thought that it was a weird story, but I'd heard good things about it so I decided to try it

How would you feel if you were a rhino and people were trying to kill you? How would you feel if your mom was a ghost and you could talk to her? I read the book called I so Don’t do Mysteries by Barrie Summy. This book is about Sherry (short for Sherlock) and her ghost mother and ghost grandfather who when he died turned into a big old Wren. Now Sherry’s ghost mother and grandfather are part of the Ghost Academy and they were assigned a hard job, they needed Sherry’s help of course! “There is a ...more

Not a favorite of mine. It was cute, and I liked it as a whole, but I would not put it on your "must read" list.

Here are a few problems I had with the novel:

I found the plot to be an interesting idea, but it would have been a more interesting read if Sherry (short for Sherlock) Holmes Baldwin had been more like Nancy Drew. I didn't think the title fit the book. As a matter of fact, the title is a bit misleading.

I also think the book would have been a better read had there been more lead in to th

Sherry wants nothing more than for life to go back to normal. Unfortunately, the chances of that are slim and looking worse by the day. Her mother was a Phoenix cop killed during a drug bust. When she was alive, it was always a fight between the mother and daughter. Her dad is getting married to Paula way sooner than expected. Paula happens to be one of Sherry's middle school teachers and is known as "The Ruler" because of her strict attitude and posture. The guy that Sherry has been crushing on ...more

The book I So Dont Do Mysteries was an amazing book. I really enjoyed this book because it made me feel like if I were in the story and I also liked the fact that most of the book took part in San Diego. One of my favorite charachters was Sherry Holmes Baldwin, she was my favorite because she showed how brave she was by going to places that she didnt really know just to try and help out her mom, that by the way is a ghost in the ghost academy. She was trying to help out her mom by trying to solv ...more

I chose this book because i wanted to figure out what the answer to the mystery was. The plot of the book is that once it's done, it cannot be changed. A girl named Sherry Holmes Baldwin loses her mother in a deadly car accident and she thinks she lost her forever. This tured out not to be true. After a month of being dead Sherry's mother's spirit comes back. Turns out sherry can hear ghosts. When Sherry needs her mom she waves around a bag of coffee and her mom will appear out of nowhere. "I So Don't Do Mysteries" is the last of the books my mom gave to me to read (at this point in time, anyway). And it was my favorite!

It was silly, stupid, immature, and very very cute. The writing was nice and easy but not too simplistic. The plot itself was really ridiculous, and some aspects were extremely cheesy (like the Academy where her mom-ghost works), but the writing was just so fun that I enjoyed it all.

What makes this book the best out of the three upper-elementary age novels I just r
