This book covers it all. From the history of the hamster and how to choose your own hamster, daily care and also showing, breeding and health problems. The authors have a lot of experience they have used in writing this book and this combined with a few anecdotes about various hamsters they've owned, make this an enjoyable read as well as informative.
I didn't read the entire A-Z of hamster diseases or every aspect of the breeding guides since they both are sections you turn to when the need arises.

Getting a hamster or just looking for a good book all about hamsters? Get this book. It is one of the only hamster books with real and correct info, though some parts are out of date. This really is THE guide for hamster care. While most other hamster care books either don't know what they are talking about or give incorrect info, this is written by people who have owned hamsters for years and know what they are doing. I just wish they'd come out with an updated edition.

Best book for adults on Hamsters. It has all the introductory info you could want to know about the critters including a very good A-Z chapter on diseases, handy for home diagnoses before a vet can be seen. I can't recommend it enough to first time or advanced Hamster owners.
