A seductive story about corruption, sin, lust, and redemption.

The Series opens as Ives Andrich, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Division of the FBI, is confronted with investigating the woman he has waited a lifetime to find. Because of her more than accurate novel about an Italian crime lord, the Bureau, against Ives' wishes, asks for her help in infiltrating the

She was a fiction writer, but this time out, her tale of an Italian crime lord mimics reality far too closely. He was the FBI Special Agent in Charge of bringing a treacherous crime lord down, but the FBI needs help and Allina is asked to work undercover to bring Luca down. Can Ives stand by as the woman of his dreams becomes the latest elbow dressing for the devil? Will the bureaucratic mistakes made by the Agency put Allina in even greater danger? Ives will turn his back on everything he belie ...more

This book had so much thrills and suspense that it is going to take several large books to contain it all. The romance is in the beginning and that was sexy and engaging. When the dangers began to grow for the couple, it took off like a shot into a mile a minute race. The story was well written and allowed me to get to know the characters and to feel the dangers that they experienced. I do not generally like cliffhangers, but the book resolved some of the questions I had and made me comfortable ...more

Did I enjoy this book: Yes.

There’s so much to say about this book, I’m not sure where to start. First, the cover is beautiful. The title is shocking. It’ll definitely grab the reader’s attention as they scan potential purchases – nicely done.

Then there’s the story: romance, lies, suspense, and high-level government cover-ups – Shew! How much more can you cram into one book?

The story is told from multiple perspectives and in a non-linear fashion. In the past, I’ve deducted stars for authors who d

This is the second book I have read written by The Black Rose and without question it is another well written, thoroughly researched crime novel. It is a story of cover ups and deceit involving The Mob and FBI, but with an underlying romantic vein. The big question is how will an FBI director investigate a criminal that potentially the new love of his life may know or be involved with! The story is told with such passion and dedication to the craft of writing. Written in such a way that it deman ...more

The Killing Game is the first book in The Killing Game series by The Black Rose.

Allina Kovar's life is about to change, and possibly not in the fashion that she is expecting. Her new novel about organized crime has raised some brows, insinuating that she may be in the middle of the mafia. The FBI has been keeping tabs on her, only she doesn't know it - yet.

In order to meet Allina, FBI Special Agent in Charge Ives Andrich, takes on the role of a publisher to publish her extremely accurate novel

Another fantastic contemporary murder mystery novel.

At first I thought, geez, get real. This girl was falling for his "come ons" hook, line and sinker. I've had men try that and I couldn't get away fast enough. Please! Do I look that stupid? It actually struck me as juvenile. But, as I delved further into the book and slowly learned her character (a romance author), I understood her more. Once I got past that business, the story really took off for me. And, what a story.

Sleezy, huge underground
The Killing Game, Part One, the Blood Negotiators is an action filled love story that kept me on the edge of my seat from the first page. Allina is amazing character, she’s very feminine, but strong and able to take care of herself. Which is exactly why the startlingly handsome and smart Ives wants to protect her at all costs.

The FBI case against Vincent Luca and Ives and Allina’s love story is set up through present day events and seamless flashbacks. This is the second book I’ve read by The B

This novel has a good story with complex characters. Is an FBI agent and the woman he loves. His love,Allina, gets caught up in one of Ives cases that becomes dangerous for all involved. The ending was a cliff hanger. However, Allina, gets her justice through pain and suffering. What bothered me about this book? The scenes that repeated themselves over and over. Distracted me from staying in the story. Was too long. The crime boss was to hate as he was a narcissistic ass. Said the same thing ove ...more

This is a book that really engages you from the first chapter on. With twists and turns, this romance/thriller kept me guessing and I didn't want to put it down. Ives and Allina are well written and complex characters that have a clear chemistry and that becomes the heart of the story. She is smart and capable and I found her easy to relate to. Tie in the mob and you have a fast paced book that is well paced and well written. Anybody who is a fan of thrillers will love this book.

Book Review originally published here:

The Killing Game is the first book in a crime / detective series, and it starts off the series with a bang. Ives Andrich, Special Agent of the New York Division of the FBI, is forced to investigate the woman who he has fallen in love with, Allina. More so, the Bureau asks her to infiltrate in the internal organization of a crime lord / mob boss, and when she does and becomes dangerously entangled in the web closing ar

The Killing Game is the first book in this series that follows the life of Chief FBI Agent Ives Andrich during his time undercover for the mob. Eager to catch the crime boss Vincent Luca and all his connections, the Bureau devises a plan to set a trap Luca can’t resist- in the form of a beautiful woman.

Allina Kovar, a romance writer, isn’t having the best luck. Writing a book about the Mafia, gambling, and money laundering she stepped out of her usual element and can’t seem to get it published.

When I started to read this I thought "There is a lot of description in this story" and I am usually one of those people who wants the story not too much else but I gotta say it really made the story. Ives is the man who published her book The Blood Negotiators and they are in love. Allina met him on the plane to New York and it was love at first sight for her but for him it was love at first sight the minute he received her file for the case he is working in. When Allina is pulled from the limo ...more

The Killing Game is my first book by the author known as The Black Rose. This tale of suspense and romance was intense. First you have the strong hero Ives Andrich. I mean Special Agent Andrich of the FBI. Add a strong heroine of Allina. Mystery writer and the woman Ives loves. Oh wait let's add mob boss, Vincent Luca. The author wrote a deliciously wonderful story with love, suspense and everything in between all taking place in New York City. I loved it! The Black Rose's writing style just dre ...more

I think that the author has some explaining to do because there is a lot of detail stuff you don't just make up! FBI, New york... Love... mafia all twisted in to what reads like it is really someones life, kind of makes you wonder?! You will not want to put this book down when you pick it up so but out a large block of time to read when you open it or be sad! Can't wait to see whats next! I received this on a review.

The Killing Game: Cat and Mouse Chase At It’s Best
Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love. Boy keeps secret that he is part of the FBI and the chase is on. The Killing Game by The Black Rose is the first in a series. It takes what could be a predictable plot line and leads the reader on a wild and unexpected ride through a maze of twists and turns that keep the reader guessing as to who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. The story does not let up until the final sentence.
