tl;dr: Not recommended, but not completely lacking.
Although it is has more depth and information than the grammar sections from his other title (Beginner's Sicilian), Basic Sicilian by Joseph Privitera has some unfortunate shortcomings that make it of limited use. As a brief reference used together with other material, this may have some greater utility, but not combined with Privitera's other works, as the conflicting information between them could be easily confusing for a learner.
