Book four in Laura Trentham’s Cottonbloom series sees the introduction of the Abbott Brothers, and their Garage & Restoration business.

I am a huge fan of all things Trentham, from the Falcon Football days, and all the way through the Cottonbloom series, Leave The Night On although a decent read, fell a little short on my expectations.

She was Southern femininity and grace. And he was a grease monkey…

I think my main issue was the fact that Sutton

Sutton Mize thought her life was all planned out. Get married to her longtime family friend turned fiancé, run her small town Mississippi clothing boutique and pop out some kids. Life was good.

That plan gets a swift kick in the butt when her bff's undies are found under the seat of her fiancé's car. The only thing worse than suffering that revelation is having it happen in front of Wyatt Abbott.

Wyatt had always been attracted to Sutton as a teenager but the two had never run in t

It's no secret that Cottonbloom is one of my happy places, so I'm happy to pack my bags and head off there at any given opportunity and this time around the series shifts focus from the Fournette siblings to the Abbott's: four brothers, with very different personalities, who joint own the town's garage and vehicle restoration business.

I'll be honest, I was as nervous going into this after reading the blurb because I'm not a

I was so happy to be back in Cottonbloom! Leave The Night On is definitely a great addition to the series. New characters are introduced, promising more stories to tell, and there are some cameo appearances of the Fournette family. Laura Trentham’s writing is fantastic. This author really has an impressive way of evolving her characters until you feel you’re reading about people you know. Her characters are vibrant and easy to love (I’ll make an exception for the villain of the Abbott f

My Wyatt & Sutton:

Wyatt is the mechanic extraordinaire. Yes, please. I have a soft spot for dirty mechanics. He works in his family-owned garage with his 3 brothers. He’s known Sutton since they were kids, but they grew up on different sides of the river. Wyatt has had a crush on Sutton since they were kids, but she was from another world, compared to his.

Sutton is….was engaged. Without spoiling anything, her heart is broken early in the book, an

Hometown romance with sweet cars and heart.

Sutton takes her fiancé’s car to Wyatt’s family’s garage for restoration. When Wyatt is helping her clean it out for drop off, Sutton discovers evidence that her fiancé is having an affair with another woman and her best friend.

Wyatt has always had a thing for Sutton so when Sutton, trying to save face, tells everyone she’s with Wyatt, Wyatt agrees to help her back up her story by playing her boyfriend.

Leave The Night On by Laura Trentham was a sweet, fun and heartwarming read.

The writing was well done, the storyline kept me turning the pages and I enjoyed watching Sutton and Wyatt's relationship develop.

Wyatt was a sweetheart, I loved his honesty, his big heart and how much of himself he gives to the people he loves and cares for.
Sutton took a little longer for me to like, the more time I spent in her head the more she grew on me.

From book 1 I have been a fan of Cottonbloom. Be it the Louisiana side or the Mississippi side I’ve enjoyed every single book.

Until now.

I still love the quirkiness of the towns. The secondary characters really add to the book. The Louisiana side is my favourite. I’m sure to read more but this just didn’t work for me.

I can’t quite pinpoint where it went wrong. I’ve also had to pull on me grownup girl knickers and figure shit out why it didn’t work for me. I’m going wiggle myself through this on

LEAVE THE NIGHT ON, the first book I have read by Laura Trentham, is #4 in THE COTTONBLOOM Series and can easily be read as a standalone.

A river divides Cottonbloom in two: the upscale enclave on the Mississippi side and the rundown, rough and tumble side in Louisiana. They are two worlds apart. Can the gap ever be bridged?

The cover is beautiful and the story is about a lovely beautiful young boutique owner from the rich side of the river and how she cop

Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the original Cottonbloom trilogy so I'm glad that it's being expanded.

I love visiting the quirky small town of Cottonbloom. The town and the people always come alive for me. Leave the Night On was no different. The story was full of love, both the romantic and platonic kind. It was sweet and touching and I loved both MCs right from the get-go.

Quick Summary:

This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly will not be the last. While it is the fourth in this series, I think it can definitely stand on its own. This is a great small-town romance reminiscent of Donna Alward. It features Sutton, who rather than admit her fiance was cheating on her with her best friend, instead concocts a story of her own affair with town bad boy, Wyatt. Little does Sutton know, Wyatt has had a crush on Sutton since they were children.

Laura Trentham has turned into on of my all-time favorite authors. I just love her books and when I see a new one being published I get all excited. I just can't help myself.

I have to admit this was one of my favorite romances of the year. For some reason the characters and their story really stood out to me. I just loved them and wanted them to find all the happiness they could.

These two really deserved it.

Sutton Mize is a good girl who toes the lines, worries about appearances, and always does what's expected of her. Her engagement to a prominent attorney is more of a merger than actual relationship and she's..mostly okay with that. Until she's presented with an incriminating set of panties, belonging to her bestie, under the front seat of her fiancée's Camaro..that she just drove in to Abbott's garage to have restored as a wedding gift. Who needs soap operas when the citizens of Cottonbloom are only a bookshelf away. Laura Trentham knows what her readers want. In my case, she reeled me in with her sweet tale of small town living and big city heartache. Leave the Night On gives readers something to talk about with a hint of scandal and a bushel of heart to guide the way. Sutton is my type of heroine. She's not afraid to rock the boat to prove she's nobody's victim. In this case I think she got more than she bargained for. She lo ...more

When Sutton Mize takes her fiancee's cherry-red Camaro convertible to Abbott Brothers Garage and Restoration for a full restoration as a wedding gift she gets a rude shock - her best friend's panties under her fiancee's seat! Cheating on her would be bad enough, but with her best friend? That's devastating! Desperate not to look like a schmuck or a loser Sutton tells a little white lie, that she was also seeing someone else, and then compounds it by naming Wyatt Abb

This is the first book that I have read by Author Laura Trentham but it definitely won't be the last. Ms. Trentham has a natural ability to develop her characters and storyline so that you feel like you are right there in the middle of it all and that you have a vested interest. I set down with this book and devoured it in an afternoon. A very good book about two people one Wyatt Abbott who owns a garage along with his four brothers. They live over the river in Louisiana. This was my first Laura Trentham read and I can promise you right now that it won't be my last. OMG, I loved this book so much.

Sutton Mize brought her fiance's Camaro to the Abbot's Garage to have it checked, but found an incriminating evidence inside the car - a laced thong that didn't belong to her, but to her best friend. To save face, she told her ex-lover that she'd been dating the hunky mechanic Wyatt Abbott and stirred gossip around Cottonbloom. It wasn't until they realized they were using each other to get what they needed.

This is just the kind of sweet and exciting story I need to read after a stressful day.

This is one of the best series I've read in a while. Sutton and Wyatt are the most recent opposite side of the tracks couples in Cottonbloom. Sutton thinks she's boring after her jerk of an ex blames her for his cheating. She truly is secretly spunky and a bit rebellious. Wyatt is charming, sweet and determined to show Sutton that she's truly fascinating. He's been infatuated with her since they were children. I adore the quaint little town of Cottonbloom that Laura Trentham created and I'm so glad to be returning in this amazing new story. The town may have always been split not only by state lines and the river but also by social status. Times are changing though and sometimes the heart wants what it wants.
