Gaines with Roger Miller's legal expertise and feedback from more than 100 reviewers and survey respondents, CRIMINAL JUSTICE IN ACTION: THE CORE, Fourth Edition, is organized and designed from the ground up to meet professor needs.
This was the assigned text for a community college level Intro to Criminal Justice course I was enrolled in in Spring of 2011. Some info was already dated but as mentioned at the very end of the last chapter "the criminal justice system ten years from now will not be exactly the same as the one you have learned about in this textbook." However this book organized info in a really intuitive natural flow way that made each week's assigned reading enjoyable and interesting. It does provide the reader with "a strong grasp of the fundamentals of the criminal justice system."
