Sex. Money. Fame.
But Bexley is the only thing I've ever needed.

I just need to convince her I'm not the guy I used to be.
That I'm more than an actor, I can be her leading man.

BEXLEY
I've never given in to what I really want.
Moving to LA. Being an actress. Holden.
I've always held back.
Now I'm buried in regret for what could have been.
I walked away because I was scared.
After four years, I see him again.
I want to give him everything I denied him before.
Starting with my body.
He was my best friend until I broke his heart.
And now I am scared he's going to break mine.

Hollywood Holden: Los Angeles Bad Boys is by Frankie Love.

My Rating: 3.5

Series: Los Angeles Bad Boys: Cold Hard Cash; Hollywood Holden; Saint Jude

Hollywood Holden is book two in the LA Bad Boys series. I enjoyed this book but it was a bit monotonous at times. That said, book one was my favorite so far.

This book features Holden and Bryley. These two have known each other since high school but went their own ways after graduation. Holden was (still is) the boy who all the girls wanted. And given how gracious Holden was (cough, cough), he donated his services. Many times.

Bryley was the good girl. (still is) The smart girl that the boys liked well-enough, but just platonically. The irony between Holden and Bryley was that they bonded. Became best friends. They hung out together, talked together and they were enrolled in drama club together. Each unaware that the other was longing for more than friendship.

That changed at graduation.....

Holden wanted more and said as such. They had planned to head out together in search of acting careers. But at the last minute, Bryley changed her mind; she was afraid. Holden was devastated and they ended up having a huge argument. She not only ended up fracturing their friendship; she broke Holden's heart.

Years later they meet again when Holden returns to town for a dedication of the new high school theatre. These days Holden is an A-list Hollywood actor while Bryley is a drama teacher at their old high school. As soon as he sees Bryley again, Holden is overcome with familiar feelings. He still wants Bryley and will do whatever he has to to have her. Heart and soul. Unfortunately that will be a difficult task. Holden is not only a famous Hollywood actor. Holden is a player. Because of his womanizing reputation, Bryley justifiably doesn't trust him. She wants to but is afraid to take a chance. However she does give in for a night at least. But Holden tells her he wants more. This is where the monotony came into play; brought to the story by Bryley. Each time, and I mean that literally, she and Holden got together she started an arguement. All due to her insecurities. Instead of trying to work it out, she ran away. Every. Damn. Time. From the beginning she was a disappointment in a character. I just didn't connect with her. Holden was a bit self centered, but I could understand that given the lifestyle he was used to. I expected nothing less. However, he loved Bryley and attempted to make positive changes in his life. Truth is...Bryley is the reason I couldn't rate this book higher. Of course I understand that a book will be boring if there is no angst between the H/h. However, Bryley's character never developed or grew til the very end. An ending which was rushed to say the least. I would have appreciated a grand gesture on her part to make things right. But they did have their HEA, so there is that. Overall it was a good story, I enjoyed reading it..

I am really looking forward to book three. That will feature Jude. Jude's story is one I have been anticipating since we met him in book one. He was an intriguing, strong secondary character. I haven't read his book yet but I'm already in love.

Holden is a hot shot movie star a regular player, Bexley was his best friend at school the one that got away? She had controlling parents who thought he was the bad boy.
This is a lovely story that shows how things can be misunderstood & scary while we are young but with age & maturity we can overcome these things.
I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion & I would definitely recommend it. Another new author for me.
A true love story.

Acting Forges an Intense Relationship

Holden and Bexley...are not my favorite couple. I thought she was rigid and unyielding, and he was better, but remained sort of feckless in the character development area, presented as a changed person at the end. The steamy scenes were ok, but not connecting to either character, I wasn't really invested in their success or pleasure.

Loved this book just as much as the first. Frankie Love knows how to write a lovable H and a feisty h. I love how glamorous these books feel. They make me want to put on some sunglasses and drive through the Hollywood Hills.

“Hollywood” Holden left his one stop sign town and moved to LA to be a big movie star. Bexley was suppose to go with him, but fear in disappointing her straight laced parents kept her in town as a student teacher in the drama Dept where she met Holden. When he comes home to dedicate a new theater he hopes to reconnect with Bex but she keeps running away from him…..until she decides to stop running away from what she loves.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Hot Hollywood Stars. Can’t wait to finish the 3rd and last book in this series.

Not a big fan of female lead

The story was cutesy but not a lot of character development. I thought Bex was a bit of a condescending b*tch that expected a lot without giving anything. Holden was a man whore but he knew what he wanted and let everyone know. The story was just "ehh" for me...

Just weird, didn’t like it. To much smut and just weird. Wasn’t really a plot, ending was not good. Only good thing was that I like the girl. Drama teacher, childhood friends

Easy read with characters you like except that our heroine Bex wears on the nerves a little. She flip flops a little more that I would like. Holden however knows what he wants. He should have gone back years ago to try and patch things up with her and hopes he can do that now once he finds out that she has come back home. His well earned rep as a player or man whore is a problem but Bex knows that not all of it is true. Her parents are the major block for her to get over to find happiness with him. Lots of sex in this book but if you hunt for it, there is a pretty good story.

DNF... I cannot stand insecure prissy females that are grown adults & are still virgins & trying to please their parents. So many pet peeves there. Gimme a strong, secure, confident lead female for once!

There was no character development, way too much narrative, and the first sex scene was very unrealistic.

huh?

well, let me first start off by saying I have read and reread the Vegas bad boy series and was in love with Ace, Jack, McQueen and King AWESOME books all show true alpha possessive love connection, if I do say so myself...when I read HH I was a little taken aback, I mean why did the (h)need to give her virginity to the (H)...I mean they were best friends from high-school and helped each other out in theatre class but from that I was confused as to why all of a sudden she "needed" to give her v card to Holden...it made no sense after being apart for 4 yrs

yes they did part ways in a screaming match which by the way I was on her side when she told a few truths...I mean come on Holden you were practically a man whore in high school and then expected to have your best friend sleep with you...gross...ok yes they did have attraction to one another but instead of Holden trying to better himself by, hey I don't know stop sleeping around and doing pot and hey maybe even show the (h) that you are changing for her that she is worth everything but noooooo he keeps sleeping around even as an adult...I totally understood her parents side of things...it was such a mess I mean Holden kept hurting her and she like a big dummy kept going back...I can go on and on about how much I did NOT like this book but you make your decision read or not its your time and money

A cute story although was really more Young Adult as both main characters were 22-23 yrs old. They have been best friends all through high school but have a big falling out upon graduation and haven't spoken in 4 years. Holden is a BIG manwhore (has been for a while) and Bexley is a good girl (virgin) school teacher who has been in love with him for years. They meet up again when Holden comes back to their hometown to dedicate a new theater and of course drama ensues from there. Both are afraid but for different reasons to take their relationship to the next level.

This was not my favorite Frankie Love book which is why I gave it only 3 stars (loved the whole Mail Order Bride series though!). Too much info for me about Holden's manwhor-ish ways and all the OW in his life - past and present day. Also I found Bex to be a bit annoying - so stuck on pleasing her super annoying parents, even though she is an adult now. She needed to have a bit more of a backbone for my taste.

There is a HFN ending and I don't think there were any OW after they got together, although there is a bit of a gap that they are apart and the author doesn't specify.

I was gifted this book for an honest opinion.

I am a massive Frankie Love Fan but this I have to admit was not one of my favourite reads.

Holden is a hot shot big time movie star that is busy sleeping his way through the girls at his parties. Bexley is his best friend from high school, she was always the one that was there for him and told him he could do anything. They had a falling out and haven't spoken to each other for 4 years.

Bexley has returned home to complete her teacher training as a drama teacher at the local high school and Holden has had a new theatre for the school built, after a meeting in the same car park that they argued in 4 years ago. They both have a new maturity but are still scared of how they really feel about each other. Bexley has always been in love with Holden and has saved herself just for him, still they are many misunderstandings between the two. He's trying not to be the bad boy he was once considered. And I found Bexley's parents to be annoying and controlling just wanted to her to tell them to get lost and let her live her life.

Still a fantastic read and I highly recommend it

Bexley and Holden were best friends in high school, attracted to each other -- even in love with each other -- but nothing ever happened between them. He was a player, she was a good girl, but they planned to move to Hollywood together to follow their acting dreams. But then Bex backs out, and Holden is devastated. Four years later, they reconnect at the unveiling of the new theater Holden (now a huge Hollywood action hero star) had built at their old high school, where Bexley is now the student teacher of the drama department. The spark still flames between them, they finally confess their feelings for one another, but they both have a multitude of issues to work through.

There's more to Holden than being a man-whore who acts in fluff superhero films, and super-controlled Bexley needs to learn how to follow her own heart rather than the course her parents have laid out for her.

This was a quick, easy read, and enjoyable! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I did like this book. The characters had interesting interaction. They'd been apart for 8 years to begin with and it was hot when they re-connected. Considering he was a big Hollywood star, Holden seemed the more sensible of the two. I know, Bexley is a teacher and they don't get any more sensible than that, right? Wrong. I found her wishy-washy most of the way through the book, but it did fit into the storyline. I kinda wondered how and why Holden kept hanging on for her many times! After her last temper fit and running away she needs space. Okay. But 2 months without a word? I find that a stretch. Yeah, there again, it fit into the storyline. Then she shows up out of the blue and it's immediate HEA. Like half a page, immediate. Just felt like there should have been some clearing the air first, but what the heck... as long as they're happy it's all good!

Another great book by Frankie Love!!!

Holden is heading home for a theater dedication at his old high school. He's not seen Bexley since high school - they were best friends and were planning to tackle the world together - until Bexley walked away.

Bexley is working at the school in the theater department. Holden knows the instant Bexley is there at the dedication and all those feelings come back. They were meant to be and he's going to put it all out because he doesn't want a life without Bexley. However, does Bexley still want Holden?

I have loved every book I've read by Frankie and this one is no different. I love her characters and the stories they weave together.

Absolutely adored this book!!!!

Holden and Bexley were best friends throughout high school and were suppose take LA by storm after graduation. Things change.

Holden returns to his hometown for a theatre dedication at his old high school where Bexley works at. The moment Holden's eyes land on Bex he know he has to talk to her. These two come together like a tornado. All their past emotions are brought to the surface. Can these two actual have a chance at love or will walk away from each other?

Frankie yet again hits a home run with this book!!! You laugh, you cry, you get angry and hopefully these two warm your heart!! Such a fantastic book!! 5 ⭐️ all the way!!!!

4.5 beautifully messy stars.

Hollywood Holden by Frankie Love is a beautiful mess of emotions. A raw, war of words and feelings that are expressed through one addicting read.

From the moment Holden and Bexley reunite, sparks fly, fires light and stars collide. Whilst the relationship is not a quick fix, Frankie perfectly played out their story through a slow build of will they/won't they.

While I found myself not fully connecting with Bexley and her back and forth, quick behaviour changes, Holden and his obvious love for Bexley was electric and was the real pull to this story for me.

Hollywood Holden was my first look into the world of Frankie Love and I think I'll travel round more of it soon.

Hollywood Holden by Frankie Love....This book was like watching a Hollywood box office hit. There was so much drama, friendship, love, romance and hot sex, everything you look for in a great movie/book. Holden and Bexley were high school friends and both crushing on each other, but things did not turn out the way they thought. Four years later they are both hoping for a different outcome. This is a must read if you are looking for a great entertaining story. I was given a complimentary book for an honest review.

If you believe that time heels any sort of pain then you must definitely read this book because Frankie overturns the whole concept. Holden and Bexley, two people deeply in love with one another but too afraid to let go of their prejudices and preconceptions. They think that time has given them a chance to turn their life around but they really forgot to deal with their heart. So it will turn out that this enthralling story will give you a reason to think before erasing your past. My sincere compliments toFrankie.
