Alien invasion? Zombies? Vampires!? I don’t think so!

Aria was an average 19-year-old with average problems. Average was quite realistic until zombies landed their UFO in her backyard. If Aria wants to survive, she’ll need some help, and who better than a pirate captain, a steampunk inventor, a bazooka wielding slayer, and a deranged Englishman who insists he is Doctor Who?

3.75 stars **I received a free PDF copy through the Read It & Reap Program in the Goodreads group Shut Up & Read in exchange for an honest review**

Compared to how much I liked Broken by Angela B. Chrysler, I was hoping this one would live up to it, but unfortunately, it didn't. It was okay, I guess, I mean, I liked it, but it wasn't anything I hated or fell head over heels in love with.

First of all, I LOVE this cover, but I love all of Chrysler's covers and, as much as I hate this wor

"Are we really following a near naked Englishman into battle?"
"Yes," Adam said. "Yes, I think we are."

You get ALL THE STARS. I read this in one sitting and it was an absolute riot! You get exactly what the title says, only the author does a little foreword explaining how this particular idea came into existence and it does nothing but get you pumped to read it.

It's got that zany almost-Douglas-Adams feel; the humor is on point. Aside from that, the characters were so unique and fun, which is kin

Stuck in a war between vampires and zombie-walking Weeches, Aria and her eccentric crew take a stand for mankind as they fight for their right to survive. Hey, if you have to sla

I have no idea what I just read, but it was fun and way too short. I could say there was a lot of unanswered questions but the story itself was completely illogical and you can’t help but smile. Zombies(weeches) vampires, pirates and a girl that has no clue what’s going on.

Aria was a classic princess peach, so I’d say my favourite character was Caius, the random lovesick vampire. Adam was good too. Not so sure about the loin cloth. So despite the plot being simplistic and the story chaotic, it w

I expected to really LOVE this book going in, after all, who wouldn't love a book about an alien race that looks and acts like our zombies and their enemy, the vampires? However, I found that I was really wanting more of a focus on exactly what the vampires did, did they drink blood? Eat human flesh like zombies? Just eat the innards? None of the above? There was a lot of information about the zombies but almost none about their vampire counterparts other than that they'd (view spoiler) ...more

Zombies from Space...and Vampires was an interesting read and by interesting I mean a little bit out there, but super cool none the less. I’m into oddities, rarities, and out-there kind of books and happen to be a super nerd as well. Admittedly, I went into this book or novella, expecting to be disappointed, expecting the usual YA dystopian flop. But hey! It was pretty cool. Actually it was quite enjoyable. The premise initially caught my interest, unique and yet

This is a quick and fun romp of a read! With a title like that I just had to know more. Even the acknowledgement and Introduction were interesting to read. I admit it, so often I get a few sentences in and skip over it. The characters were kookie and fun. It was a wild adventure from the start! The characters! Mad Matt was definitely my favorite nut of the bunch, running around mostly naked with a Tom Baker scarf. How about a girl pirate with pink piggy tails, chomping on bubble gum and a bazook ...more

If you think a zombie book is cool, try adding vampires and space to the story and it becomes brilliant!
I should have taken away one star, because it was too short! but I loved every page and when even the introduction and acknowledgements are freaking captivating and fun to read, what could the actual story be like? It's funny and fast paced,I got to love the characters in just under 100 pages and they all deserve a sequel! And I'm glad that author is writing it,because this awesome story can't e

It's a fun story. Cliffhanger ending (sort of). Makes me excited for the next edition. Every now and then, a reader needs a story that's just good times and cool, zany action. This is that book.
Full Review to post on my blog in time.

Zombies from Space …And Vampires by Angela B. Chrysler is an end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it novella in which UFOs arrive and deposit aliens that look and move and eat humans like in the classic horror movie zombie sense. The main character is 19-year-old Aria who witnesses the arrival of one of these UFOs and the immediate disappearance of her father, her only close relative. As she stands there in complete disbelief of what she is seeing, she is grabbed by a mysterious stranger who comes out of ...more

A quick fun read

This book is a fast read, which I really liked after working my way through several series of books prior to reading this one. Knowing that the story was originally serialized in blog form made it even more interesting, because I had been waiting to read it from start to finish, without waiting for the next installment.
I'm very glad I waited, even though I had to work past some issues that could have been solved with a bit more editing.
