I seriously loved this book. If you love superheroes, action, comedy, and strong character development in movies/books/tv shows, this is the book for you.
The main character, Ashe, is a young teenager at the beginning of the book. His youthful nature is really well captured by the narration. But, as the story develops, Ashe does as well. It's rare to find a book that shows a definitive maturing of characters, but this is one of them.
I also loved the character development in this book. What I found so special was how well the characters were developed and how different each character's personality felt. Ashe, Luke, Alana, Lionel, and the rest of the characters behaved in ways that really fit the personalities that the author created. Plus, some of Luke's lines and antics really had me cracking up.
There is a high amount of action in this book. It made me feel like I was watching a Hollywood movie at times as opposed to reading a book because I was able to visualize it so clearly.
I don't want to have any spoilers in this review, but the underlying moral in the story is really powerful and adds to the climactic ending.
I highly recommend this book for people of all ages and I cannot wait to read the sequel.
