Celebrations & Confetti by Rebecca Raisin is a 2016 Carina UK publication.

Celebrations & Confetti kicks off the first of a three- part romance series centered around Clio Winters and Cedarwood Lodge, located in the small town of Evergreen.

Clio left Evergreen with high ambitions, but all her lofty goals disintegrated when she was fired from her job, her reputation in ruins, and lawsuit hanging over her head.

Taking all the money she had, she buys the dilapidated Cedarwood Lodge hoping to restore it to its former glory and host events there. Her very first opportunity comes when a couple chooses the lodge to host their 50th wedding anniversary celebration.

Will the renovations be done in time? Will the celebration be a success?

This first installment introduces us to the cast of characters we will follow up on in the next two chapters. Clio, of course, and her best friend, Micah who is hoping to date, Isla, the gardener, and Clio’s mother who is hardly welcoming, holding on to some dark secret from the past which is somehow connected to the lodge, and Kai, the overseer of the crews working on the renovations, who may be a love interest for Clio, despite their differences.

Rebecca Raisin once more creates a charming atmosphere and location, with likeable characters, with a bit of romance, and a bit of mystery, which has me hoping the next installment will be on its way very soon!

While this book is a three-part series, this first installment did not end with an irritating cliffhanger, but there are still issues to resolve and a couple of ongoing storylines that will bleed over into the next two chapters. So, you definitely want to get started with this first book, so you can follow along with the series.

I like these serials on occasion because the stories are short and are easy to fit into a busy schedule, can be read on your lunch break, and gives you something to look forward to, building anticipation for the next installment.

Rebecca’s books are always charming and delightful and this one is no exception. I can’t wait to find out what will happen next!!

This is the first book in the Cedarwood Lodge series of which is a little over a 100 pages long, so didn’t take long to devour at all.

I fell in love with the Lodge as much as Clio. You can’t help but feel and see everything she does when it comes to renovating it. I was as excited to see it get completed and see it in all it’s glory. The fact that it has some history also really appeals.

There was so much to like about this book. There is romance, friendship as well as intrigue that will ensure that you keep turning the pages. It will certainly leave you looking forward to the next book in the series.

Celebrations And Confetti At Cedarwood Lodge is a charming and wonderful story and a must read for fans of this genre.

I know when Rebecca Raisin has a new book out, it wont disappoint. And Celebrations and Confetti topped it once again. With a pretty cover and and a tempting blurb we meet Cilo Winters, Clio left her job in New York as an event planner under a dark cloud and returned to her home town of Evergreen. She has bought Cedarwood Lodge, where all her childhood memories lay. It has been abandoned for a whille now and needs lots of work doing to restore it to its former self. The gardens are overgrown but Clio knows that with views of the mountains and lake it will once again hold parties and celebrations. As we learn throughout the story Cedarwood carries a secret and that something happened there years ago involving the pervious owners. Clio’s mum seems to know more than she is letting on and Clio is determined to get answers. With a great supporting cast, we meet Micah, who is Clio's childhood best friend, the Lodge project manager Aussie surfer Kai, who Clio has taken a liking to, and garden designer Isla, who takes a liking to Micah. As Clio has a 50th wedding anniversary booked in for a few weeks time for Edgar and Imelda, who married at the Lodge, Clio and her team need to pull the job off and make Cedarwood Lodge as magical as it once was.
With some surprises, twists and turns along the way, including an unexpected fire and a hidden maze. Isla also holds a secret of her own which I would never of guessed.
Cedarwood Lodge and Clio, Im sure will take you on a journey that has you captivated from the first chapter. I could not put it down even when it was way past my bedtime.
This is a great start to this new series and I can not wait to get started on book 2. Top marks once again to Rebecca Raisin.

Clio left her job as a wedding planner in New York and returned to Evergreen, where she bought an old lodge. She's renovating the old lodge and is also planning a 50th wedding anniversary party for Edgar and Imelda. There's only six weeks until the party, but thankfully she has some amazing helpers-an old friend Micah, a gardener Isla and a work manager Kai. The lodge renovation goes well and even if there're some problems, they can overcome it together, but what worries Clio is her mother's antipathy towards the lodge, but she's not really open about it. What is the secret that Clio's mother keep?

It's a wonderful beginning to a three book series, that has a gorgeous setting and wonderful characters. I can't wait to read the next installments and see how the story unfolds as there are so many questions that need the answers. A really enjoyable read!

Celebrations and Confetti is an excellent start to the Cedarwood Lodge series. I take my hat off to Clio for taking on such a massive challenge, although I can totally see the appeal. It sounds amazing! I love her commitment to the project, and I love her relationship with her friends, and colleagues. She has a difficult relationship with her mother. A grieving mother who seems to carry a secret relating to Cedarwood. A secret she seems unwilling to share with Clio which strains their relationship further. It’s very intriguing and I hope we find out more about that.
Cedarwood is part of a small community and Clio is determined to bring it back to life with many celebrations and happy occasions. Will she leave herself any time for a bit of romance though!?
A very enjoyable read. I’ve already bought book two and started it. I’m finding myself quite invested in these characters.

** According to Amazon I purchased the Kindle edition of Celebrations and Confetti on 23rd November 2016 **

A mostly enjoyable book, although come to find out it's part of a trilogy that together make up a whole book (three novellas). So in this book we're introduced to a whole cast of characters, get the setup (Cedarwood Lodge), but tons is left hanging.

Oh, what a wonderful beginning to what feels like a gorgeous new series from Rebecca Raisin. Utterly delightful and completely charming, I could have stepped right into this story and lent a helping hand to Clio and the rest of the team in the up-doing of Cedarwood Lodge. As is always the case with Raisin's novels, Celebrations and Confetti was infused with warmth and heart. It was a steamy mug of sweet and delicious hot chocolate to warm you up from the inside out.

In Rebecca Raisin's Celebrations and Confetti, we're introduced to Clio Winters. She's left her career in New York behind and has captured her childhood dream of owning Cedarwood Lodge. Here, she will host the most magnificent parties and celebrations! Or, she will, once it's up and running and ready to welcome the guests. It's a lot to take on but Clio is sure that she has done the right thing, even if she does feel a little wobbly about her decision at times. With the help of a few good friends, she hopes to pop the party poppers sooner rather than later!

Raisin's style is as cosy as it always has been. From the beginning, I knew I was going to feel totally involved in Clio's story, and I was right. It's impossible not to become wrapped up entirely in the characters' circumstances. Evergreen itself was a desirable location with Cedarwood Lodge right at its heart. There were some truly wonderful and entertaining characters to be introduced to, each with their own set of problems to work through as Clio works through her own alongside them. These smaller secondary stories were delightful and so very easy to follow, adding something very special to the overall effect. Clio Winters herself was such a likeable woman, although harbouring some secrets of her own too. I loved getting to know about her past in New York and couldn't help noticing how very different Evergreen was to her old life, yet she seemed to utterly love it there, the place making her feel more alive than ever. With her sweetheart from years ago still around, Clio has a lot of decisions to make as this story unravels, not only ones to do with Cedarwood Lodge.

Overall, Celebrations and Confetti was an absolutely wonderful beginning to what is sure to be a magical series from Rebecca Raisin. I adored it, and the characters were a joy to meet. I already can't wait to meet up with them again in the next instalment. Becca's Books is awarding Celebrations and Confetti with four of my bookish cupcakes.

Having read two stories by Rebecca Raisin, I was very excited for her new book. The bright colour of the cover and the prospect of an another light-hearted book lured me into it. CELEBRATIONS & CONFETTI is the first of three books in AT CEDARWOOD LODGE series.

When Clio's career as a successful event planner in New York takes a fall, she returns home to Evergreen, with an another plan for her future ahead. She buys the old, dilapidated Cedarwood Lodge, planning to renovate it, while maintaining the old glory, and open it for business as a destination for weddings, anniversaries, parties and so on. With her best friend- Micah by her side, Clio is working hard to open it for the first event at Cedarwood Lodge.

As the story continues, more characters are introduced along with the brief descriptions about each of them. When the story came to an end, I had met most of the people in Clio's life and it made the story much enjoyable actually. When it comes to the romance, it was a relief that there is no insta-love involved in it. Love is definitely in the air, but it progresses smoothly and slowly. At the beginning, I thought she would fall for Micah, hence it was a surprise when two other characters were portrayed as Clio's potential lovers. It kept me guessing who would be her hero and couldn't draw a conclusion until I reached the last chapter. I liked how the story was wound up, it gives me more to look forward in her next book.

Not only Clio's story but CELEBRATIONS & CONFETTI unfolds the story of each character's in the book. Rebecca Raisin creates a happy ending for each of them and it's pretty obvious how much she hearts every one of them. The mystery surrounding the Cedarwood is yet to be revealed, I liked how the author has connected it to Clio's family, however, her mother's secret and behaviour was a bit irksome. There should not be any secrets among people in the same family, I hate when it happens. The story ends on a positive note, while leaving a few traces of what might happen in the next instalment.

I do personally like Rebecca's writing; fairly written, well-paced stories laden with cheerful, positive vibes. I can get into the story with ease and enjoy them thoroughly. So, you know, this book was a delight, I really liked it. CELEBRATIONS & CONFETTI is an another lively, heartwarming story from Rebecca Raisin. You will like it if you enjoy make-you-feel-good chick lit stories.

Celebrations & Confetti is the first instalment in the Cedarwood Lodge series, focusing on the renovation of Cedarwood Lodge, introducing us to the characters and hosting its first function, the wedding anniversary party of Edgar and Imelda.

Clio Winters was a successful wedding planner in New York, having escaped the small town of Evergreen pursuing her dreams, until she gives the wrong advice to a bride she was so desperately trying to help. Unfortunately for Clio, she chose the wrong bride to help who is now dragging her name through the mud for all the publicity she can get!

Clio has taken a gamble on the derelict Cedarwood as she has a vision for it being a grand place for celebrations and holidays. There is a scene early on in the book where Clio describes her vision and its so wonderful that it actually gave me goosebumps and is the sort of place I’d like to escape to (I had the family resort location of Dirty Dancing in my mind as it has that whole 1960’s family holiday feel – massive Dirty Dancing fan!). Clio is reunited with her best friend Micah to help fulfil her vision and employs the lovely Izzy to sort out the grounds and the gorgeous Kai to project manage the renovations.

I loved all the characters but particularly Edgar and Imelda, who are still completely head over heels in love with each other after 50 years of marriage and the ideas that Clio has for their party are beautiful. Edgar and Imelda are so dedicated to one another but have had to work at it which leaves Clio wondering whether love will pass her by. This wonderful couple have advice for the characters in the book which we could all take away.

Raisin has written a novella that does finishes enough to ensure that break to part 2 is not disruptive to the overall narrative, but with enough unanswered questions to look forward to the next instalment, Brides & Bouquets which is out on the 24th November.

Celebrations & Confetti is such an easy and heartwarming read about love, hopes and dreams and I can’t wait for part 2 (and 3!).

Celebrations & Confetti is the first instalment in the new Cedarwood Lodge series written by Rebecca Raisin.

I’ve always loved Rebecca Raisin’s style of writing especially how she draws you into the setting of the novel. I totally could see myself walking into Cedarwood Lodge and could imagine the before and after in the renovations that new owner Clio had in mind. Clio has been recently working in New York as a wedding planner but she is now back in her hometown of Evergreen after purchasing Cedarwood Lodge. The Lodge has been left empty for years and is looking a little tired but Clio has plans to turn it into the best lodge around to host all matters of events. Clio remembers the Lodge when she was a child playing in the grounds and the location of the lodge is just perfect with it’s vast gardens overlooking the mountains.

The Lodge however, holds many secrets and Clio discovers that her own mother is privy to one of these secrets. Clio also has her own secret and she is holding back about the real reason she left the city.

With the renovations in full swing and the first booking for the lodge in place Clio’s life is full on. No time for romance but love is blossoming for someone at the lodge.

This was such a wonderful, heart warming story and a great introduction to a new series. I was totally swept away with Clio and her dreams. I’m looking forward to more from Cedarwood Lodge and am intrigued to find out if the new renovated walls will reveal their secrets and whether cupid will cast it’s spell. 5/5*

I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this story thanks to TBC, Netgalley and the author herself. Wow what a great start for this three part series, brilliant! I already cannot wait to read the next two stories that will follow. If you are looking to get away (in your mind) this is the perfect story for you which will take you into the cute little town of Evergreen. I always find Rebecca's books calm me down and take me to somewhere beautiful and she did not disappoint this time either. I would highly recommend all her books to you. It was a beautifully written short story (129 pages). You can really tell Rebecca loves what she does (writing). The setting was perfect and so were the characters I want/NEED to know what happen at Cedarwood Lodge, hurry up Rebecca! Well worth the five stars I have awarded.

This is the perfect book for readers who enjoy a brilliant short story, romance, contemporary and chick-lit filled plot. It will warm your heart. Enjoy, I did. I loved it.

This is a nice beginning to a new series. But be warned that this is a novella and we get a lot of information packed into a short story.

Set in a town called Evergreen, heroine Clio Winters returns home to turn Cedarwood Lodge into a vacation and event destination location. She left her job in New York for reasons she really doesn't want to broadcast. Right away several storylines begin to play out. There is mother/daughter conflict, friendship, more than one could-be romance, and lots of information about the lodge. I probably could have done with a little less of that but it seems to play into the next installment of the story.

All in all, I was intrigued and can't wait for the next novella to come out so we can see how things unfold.

Nobody can ever read Rebecca Raisin’s books and fail to come out with a smile of their face. Her books have that special sparkle that puts a twinkle in your eye and for the more jaded, redeems faith in the goodness of people. I was intrigued to start a new series, set at the beautiful but decaying Cedarwood Lodge. All the characters are new, but they will become good friends.

Clio has left her job in New York City as a wedding planner after a scandal. (The scandal is both juicy and funny, but I’m not going to spoil the surprise here). She’s returned to Evergreen, the home of her youth. As a child, she and best friend Micah used to play in the grounds of the deserted Cedarwood Lodge. Now Clio’s bought it with the aim of restoring it to its former glory. Micah’s in, as is gardener Isla and manager Kai. Everyone is determined to turn the lodge into the talk of the town. Their first mission is an anniversary party for a couple married at the lodge a long time ago. There are problems at the house, but Clio’s got other troubles. Her mother is frankly against anything to do with the lodge and there’s childhood sweetheart Timothy in town too.

Being the first part of three, the reader doesn’t get all the answers to the problems, which I’m really grateful for. The sense of intrigue as to what’s up with Clio’s mum is great (and a tasty bit of information is revealed right at the end of the book). I’m also not too sure who Clio’s love interest will be – initially there was old friend Micah, handsome Aussie surfer Kai and former flame Timothy. While this story takes one of these men off the list, there’s enough mystery for me not to be able to guess who Clio will fall for. I’m really excited for the next instalment and hope that Clio’s friend from New York sticks around!

For those who miss the food descriptions of the Gingerbread Café, you will rejoice at knowing that Clio’s aunt has a delicious café with delectable treats. I’m hoping for more descriptions of food in the next story. There’s also more secrets at the lodge to discover in the wilds of the grounds – a secret maze! I will be very interested to see how this links in with Clio’s mum.

As I’m sure you can tell from the above, the story is packed full of interesting threads, but it never feels too dense or rushed. It’s a thought provoking read that really gets you into the small town spirit and is gorgeously enjoyable.

Many thanks to Carina UK for the eARC. My review is honest.

I haven’t read a book of Rebecca’s that I didn’t like, ever. Celebrations & Confetti is no exception. However, I would never use the word ‘like’ to describe my feelings of this book because I’m afraid to say, I didn’t like it…..
WAIT!!
I haven’t finished…..
It’s true, I didn’t like it because I absolutely, one hundred percent….LOVED IT! Although, I don’t think ‘love’ is even strong enough to describe my thoughts! Celebrations & Confetti captured my heart from the very beginning with its enticing nature, and comforting words. Every lick of paint or change in décor was described with incredible realism; I felt as though I was standing in the lodge watching the transformation through my very own eyes.
Clio has returned home to Evergreen leaving the glamorous life of New York City behind her, but why? Why leave NYC for a….lodge? Those are the questions that Clio knows her mum wants to ask her; if she ever saw her that is. Clio returning home should be a joyous occasion, especially when she is following her heart. But will everyone be on the same wavelength as her?
I was! Don’t get me wrong, you’ll learn a lot of information in part one that could make you feel differently towards Clio. Positive or negative, it makes for excellent reading and puts the storyline on a completely different level to the one I initially thought.
All of the characters within the book are very easy to gel with and their personalities are all incredibly memorable. So memorable that I couldn’t actually find a character that I disliked (that is rare). Two characters in particular that made my heart sing were Kai and Eva, one of the few subtle things within the storyline that made me stop and gather my thoughts.
Seeing as this is only part one, you are left with many unanswered questions. Whilst it might be frustrating for those that dislike books that come in parts, it is to be expected with a series and I love the fact that there is even more to find out in part two.
Rebecca writes with such warmth and emotion; all of her stories have felt like hugs in a book. I cannot fault Celebrations & Confetti at all, why would I want to? It is such a fantastic start to an already enticing book series and I for one cannot wait to read part 2. If it continues on the same line of brilliance as this one, we will be in for an absolute treat! See you soon Cedarwood Lodge!!
Thank you Rebecca & LRR!

This is an impressive start to the Cedarwood Lodge series, as part one of three, we get a really good introduction to the the Lodge and its renovations, and what appears to be the team in charge of putting everything together.

We have Clio Winters, the new owner of the lodge, and is returning to Evergreen in a blaze of hidden controversy based on how her last job in New York ended. Her mother doesn't seem to keen on Clio owning Cedarwood Lodge, but it looks like this will be an ongoing point of intrigue during the series, as we try to find out exactly what her mum is hiding.

Then there is Clio's best friend Micah who just happens to have taken a fancy to new gardener Isla. They are both incredibly sweet characters but whether they will actually get together is something that will keep you reading.

Kai is an Australian surfer dude who is overseeing all the various teams of builders and workmen, and her certainly caught Clio's eye. They are incredibly different and I loved seeing him push her into various more active pursuits.

Cedarwood Lodge is at the heart of this novella, and Clio's plans for the building are ambitious but if pulled off could be very profitable. Their first challenge is renovating enough to hold a 50th Wedding Anniversary party in a 6 week time frame, for Edgar and Imelda, who were married at the lodge 50 years ago. It is a tough ask, but Clio is determined to make this party memorable.

As you may expect from a Rebecca Raisin book, this encompasses all the cosiness of a small village feel into the story, and I am already eager to see how everything progresses in parts 2 and 3. As a first part, I can say it does work a a standalone novella, and I was not left frustrated at the end of it..although of course I'd rather jump straight into the next part sooner rather than later!

Thank you so much to Rebecca Raisin for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.

*Book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

Celebrations and Confetti is the first book of Rebecca Raisin’s Cedarwood Lodge series.

The story is centred around Clio Winter, who is back in her hometown Evergreen after living in New York. She is new planning to renovate Cedarwood Lodge and turning it into a great venue for weddings and other parties. Her best friend Micah is by her side and helps her.

We then also get to know the other characters, which is great. They are a fab bunch and I enjoyed getting to know them all. It’s wonderful to see that some oft hem get their story told as well, still with Clio in the centre, but it gives the story a great mixture. Of course there is also a love interest for Clio, as well as for Micah, but I don’t want to say too much about them yet. Let’s just see how the story develops ;).

There is actually also some mystery and drama included in this story or we could also call it a secret. It’s all connected to Clio’s family or should I rather say her mum?! Of course all this is leaving space open for books 2 and three.

Rebecca has created some wonderful characters here and I like how she has drawn the story around them. The characters are strong and authentic and the storyline is exciting. Her style is charming and sweet. There was a little something missing form e and I can’t explain what! I hope that changes in books 2 and 3, so that’s why I only gave 4 stars to this wonderful book.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to Stephanie and Helena for letting me take part in this tour. I love Rebecca's books so when I saw this I knew I had to be part of it

This is a new series for Rebecca and is set in the small town of Evergreen. It follows Clio Winters as she takes over Cedarwood Lodge. The Lodge has been abandoned for many years and needs quite a bit of work. Luckily Clio has an excellent team of people behind her.

Firstly there is her best friend Micah. Micah is the brother Clio never had. They know each other inside out and have been friends since childhood. Then we have project manager Kai. Kai is a totally hot surfer dude. He's got the body of a God and the typical laid back Australian attitude that means he's calm in every situation. Finally we have Isla the landscaper. Isla is bubbly, excitable and hard working.

I really enjoyed reading this book and some parts had me discreetly wiping a few tears away. I love the romanticist in Clio and I adored Edgar and Imelda. A couple like that really proves that there is such a thing as true love.

I am extremely excited for the next part of the series.

My Review

Today I am part of the book tour for the lovely Rebecca Raisin for her new 3 part book series At Cedarwood Lodge. Rebecca is a lovely lady and someone i can call my friend aswell. I am a huge fan of Rebecca’s books, I’ve loved every single one so I knew I was going to like this first book of Cedarwood Lodge.

We Meet Clio who has moved back to Evergreen after purchasing Cedarwood Lodge which needs a lot of renovating which is Clio’s childhood dream. Wanting to turn Cedarwood Lodge into a fantastic place for weddings,Parties and celebrations but it needs plenty of tender loving care before opening.

All the characters are fantastic, I really warmed to them all pretty much straight away, although I seem to warm to Clio a lot more. I felt sorry for her when we find out why she’s come back home but I know she is going to make Cedarwood Lodge perfect.

Rebecca’s writing style grabs the attention of her readers, leaves you hooked and wanting more. The descriptive words for Evergreen and Cedarwood Lodge really made me want to visit if it was a real place. Sounds like a perfect area!

I am so intrigued with what the secret Clio’s mum is keeping hidden and I am also very excited to see what happens between Clio and Kai. Rebecca I need Moree!! hehe!

I rate Celebrations & Confetti at Cedarwood Lodge 4.5 Stars for making me dream that i lived in Evergreen just like Clio!

Celebrations and confetti at cedarwood lodge by Rebecca Raisin is a romance and women's fiction read.
Clio Winters is finally fulfilling her childhood dream of renovating the gorgeous old Cedarwood Lodge in Evergreen. Turning it into the perfect destination for big celebrations, weddings and parties has brought her back home, but Cedarwood Lodge is in need of a lot of tender loving care. Perhaps all the work will be the perfect distraction from the real reason she had to leave her glamorous New York life behind. Will coming home be the best decision of her life… or her biggest regret? Cedarwood Lodge is a delectable romance told in three parts - following Clio Winters journey back to her hometown of Evergreen. This is Part One.
Wow. Absolutely lovely little read with brilliant characters. Especially clio. She was my favourite character. Really loved the way cedar lodge was transformed. Highly recommended.. 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.

Clio has taken on the task of renovating Cedarwood Lodge and bringing it back to its former glory. She has left New York under a bit of a cloud and is keen to make a new life in Evergreen. When a couple want to book their 50th wedding anniversary there- she needs to get it finished in time. The plans sound wonderful and make you want to go along to the anniversary.
I love Rebecca's writing style and the wonderful characters that she creates and I'm delighted to read the first in a new series. We are keen to read more about the future for all the characters. Will cupid's arrow strike, will people find their happy ever after and what secrets is Cedarwood holding? It built the scene so perfectly that you feel a part of the story and it's always sad to say goodbye. Luckily with a new series you know you are going to return very soon!

This little Novella was a real sweet treat. So far removed from the usual books I read, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the story, all the characters, and best of all the fact that it's the first in a trilogy. I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

Clio is back in her hometown, Evergreen. She used to have a successful career in New York, but everything she worked hard for has been taken away and she needs a fresh start. That's why she's bought Cedarwood Lodge. She wants to bring it back to its former glory and would like to make it a perfect venue for parties. Weddings are her specialty and while she loves planning romantic days for others, Clio hasn't found her own mister right yet. The lodge needs a lot of work, but fortunately Clio isn't on her own. She has the chance to work with her best friend Micah and the gorgeous temporary project manager Kai. Will Clio be able to leave her past behind and will Cedarwood Lodge bring her happy times again after everything she went through in New York?

Celebrations & Confetti At Cedarwood Lodge is a wonderful story about a beautiful lodge, family secrets and true love. I immediately loved Clio. She's kindhearted, determined, brave and talented. Clio has been through a lot, but that doesn't prevent her from going on with her life and finding a new challenge, which is an admirable quality. Her project is interesting and I loved reading about the progress she makes at Cedarwood Lodge. It's a brilliant location with plenty of potential and I enjoyed reading about Clio's plans very much.

Rebecca Raisin always writes about settings that make me curious. Evergreen is inviting, it's a town that put a big smile on my face because of its special vibe. It's warm and welcoming and the inhabitants are all fascinating. Clio didn't think she'd ever return, but the town suits her and that makes her story even more fun. At such a romantic location it's impossible not to fall in love, which is something I loved about this book. The family secret intrigues me as well and I can't wait to read more about it. Celebrations & Confetti At Cedarwood Lodge is lovely and heartwarming. Every character is fabulous and I liked everything about this first At Cedarwood Lodge story.

Six years ago, Clio Winters left her small hometown of Evergreen behind her for the bright lights of New York City. Working as hard as she could, Clio built a new life for herself there as a prestigious event planner. But when her ideas of true love and romance make her give some honest advice, Clio finds herself fired and her reputation in tatters. So when Cedarwood Lodge in Evergreen, an abandoned lodge that had always been in Clio's heart, comes up from sale, she buys it without thinking. And now she is home, and this is her chance to live her dream. But nothing is ever straightforward and with friendships old and new, true love, an old mystery involving her mother, and a disaster involving the lodge, will Clio be able to find what she is looking for?

CELEBRATIONS & CONFETTI AT CEDARWOOD LODGE by Rebecca Raisin is the first part of an enchanting new series by the talented Rebecca Raisin. With the author's signature style and flare, I was swept into the beauty of Cedarwood Lodge and the Evergreen community. With engaging and compelling characters, I could not put this book down and I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on part two! Clio is a little lost and grabs her opportunity to own the lodge which represents so many happy memories for her. As she tries to get over what has happened to her in New York. she also wants to close the distance between her and her mother, who is hiding secrets of her own. Believing in true love, we get to see Clio's sweet and caring nature as she looks out for Micah, Isla, and everyone around her, but doesn't necessarily take any chances of her own. CELEBRATIONS & CONFETTI AT CEDARWOOD LODGE by Rebecca Raisin is a smashing start to what is sure to be another beautiful series, and I am a huge fan already.

This book has all the ingredients that make an enjoyable chick lit read, only it seems to be missing some vital ingredient.

Clio, our heroine, returns to her hometown of Evergreen where she buys the rundown lodge of the title. It’s not really a tree change, but more of the cliched 'had to get out of the city due to a misunderstanding' with her previous highly paid position. A scandal that is apparently still being splashed around the city’s newspapers and social media circles and yet, even though the internet is worldwide, apparently no one from Evergreen has seen their prodigal daughter’s story of shame.

Once in the town, which I get the sense of being a Southern US one, even though I don’t remember it being particularly stated, Raisin introduces us to a large group of supporting characters. Most, unfortunately, were less than interesting.

Clio gets the chance for romance with two potential suitors. One is an Australian who she’s employed as project manager to renovate her lodge. You’d think I’d enjoy an Aussie character but he just wasn’t fleshed out enough for me to find appealing. The other candidate is Clio’s high school sweetheart. If possible, he’s even less appealing, especially when his obviously deeply disturbed children are included in the scene. Clio has zero chemistry with either man. In fact, the only male she does have chemistry with is the cynical actor she speaks to over the telephone in one scene.

This is ‘part one’ and therefore, not all the storylines were wrapped up at its conclusion. I guess I wouldn’t mind knowing a couple of things that I was left hanging on, but I won’t lose sleep over it.

2/5

I do enjoy books by Rebecca so once I knew there was a new series I was keen to find out what was happening this time. Especially with Christmas looming it certainly had potential.

Celebrations and Confetti is the first novella length part. Life in Manhattan hasn't materialised quite how Clio desired. She is a wedding planner used to dealing with the stars but when she gives her opinion to one bridegroom it backfires and she leaves under a cloud of scandal.

She heads back to her hometown of Evergreen with her tail between her legs hoping to keep a low profile and rebuild her life. She has plenty of old friends and a previous boyfriend so she isn't short of company.

However she has ploughed all her money into a ramshackle mansion which has seen better days and her plans are to revamp it to it's former glory and woo the brides again. There seems to be a lot of mystery surrounding Cedarwood and nobody is willing to enlighten Clio of past events, least of all her mother.

Her first function is a 50th wedding anniversary, can miracles be worked within such a short timescale? There is a lot going on for a shortish book and some marvellous characters are introduced.

A pleasantly warm cosy feeling ensues as this story unfolds ... with the support of her friends not to mention a rather spunky Aussie project manager and life seems to be improving. I really enjoyed this and thankfully I have the next part ready to dip straight in to so I don't have a gap in between finding out what the next outcome is!
