In the book Investing For Beginners, by David Cohne, the author goes through and explains many aspects of investing in a short yet informative way. In this economically geared book, Cohne explains the more safe and high risk investment options and weighs the pros and cons based on the position of the investor. 3.5/5 Stars.

This book does a great job of briefly covering a variety of topics in today's financial world, from the stock market, different asset classes, mutual funds, retirement investing, understanding of one's risk tolerance to constructing your portfolio. I would recommend this book to anyone getting started on their financial future, which, by the way, should be started as soon as possible if you haven't already.

“Taking the time to read this book was a great first step, but you now need to take action. Too many people will read a book and that's it. If you truly want to benefit from this book, its time to start investing.”

A decent start

A bit plan and non technical. But I don't think that was the intent of the author. It provides a good basis from which to start. Overall not a bad book to begin with.

Thirty minute read. Was not particularly helpful. It's essentially a reference guide that would only be used if you're already looking at investing in something. You might as well Google the information. ...more
