I usually love George's works. Her book, Loving God with All Your Mind, was life-changing in my teens and a book I still go back to when it comes to transforming my thought life.
This devotional wasn't that great. I found myself not wanting to read. She tried to pull principles out of passages that just weren't there. Oh, the principles were good, but the scripture didn't support them in those passages. For instance, on day 32, in talking about Rebekah's mother, she draws out the principles of being faithful to your husband, faithful to God, and faithful to teach your children. I agree those are important, but we know pretty much nothing about this woman. We don't know if she was faithful in any of that.
Like I said, I love some of this author's other works, but I will probably skip her devotionals in the future.

This book is a keeper! Every page has a message that feeds my soul as a Christian woman. The author writes as if she is sitting and talking with me, friend to friend. I don't give it 5 stars because there are a few times when I have to disagree with her beliefs, but that is nothing new with religions and Christians. It's a good read for the most part and I highly recommend it.

I did not always agree with the author's suppositions, assumptions and opinions, but I did enjoy the gathering in one book of important, influential and sometimes lesser known women who warranted inclusion in the Bible.

I have read through this devotional book (among others) each day for the past 3 years and have enjoyed it very much. I have chosen some new devotional books for the new year of 2015.
