This precious book by Ramdesh Kaur focuses on the methods of Kundalini yoga as a way to happiness, peace, and body acceptance. It is aimed specifically towards those with eating disorders or poor self-image.

The book as a whole has a light, happy, airy feel to it. It is published with light colors. All of the models demonstrating various yoga postures, etc. are in white, and the subtitles are in pastels. This gives this book a gentle, unthreatening feel.

Our author presents lots of information in this book. There is an introductory section telling how kundalini yoga can help eating disorders specifically, but also any problems with self-image and self-love. She introduces kundalini yoga in a nonthreatening, not forceful way, giving helpful tips on what to wear, how to create a sacred space for the practice, etc. Then, there is a section about the chakras, one about mantras and their heling powers, a section about kundalini kriyas, and one about meditations. At the end, she includes a section about blessing food. She also provides recipes.

This is a very valuable book for a beginner to kundalini yoga and the concept of improving one’s self-image. Her directions are simple and easy to follow, with pictures that clarify any confusion. It is gentle, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. So many people would find this invaluable.
