This is the third book in this series and again the wisdom of old Sam is shown in how he cares for the girls who have been gifted one of his chests.
As the story begins Rachel’s horse Cinnamon has picked up a deadly virus, one that most horses do not survive. The young Vet Jarred is optimistic and decides with Rachael that all will be tried to save this beautiful animal, but what they don’t expect is a spark of romance.
There is a tragic event in Jarred’s life that has haunted him, and rightly so.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire Hope Chest of Dreams series! They have given me hours of touching, cozy entertainment. Rachel's Dream is the third book of the series, and I'm excited I still have the Christmas story (The Amish Christmas Candle) to look forward to.

I'm a big fan of horse stories, but there were a number of other things that really touched me about Rachel's Dream. One was that I could really feel the two lead characters' earnestness and youth. I enjoyed the heartfelt, innocent

"You can't control your past, but with God's help, you can own your future." This quote stands out for me from the entire book. If I had to one line summarize this book this quote would be it. That and of course "Memories stay in your heart. Bit if I've learned anything throughout my life it's that the future's all about making new ones." 'Rachel's Dream' is the third book in The Hope Chest of Dreams series. I was concerned about not having had time to read the previous two books before reading ...more

I really enjoyed this story. It really wanted to make me cry and choke Jarred's parents to do him the way they did. He was 4 for crying out loud!!! I wanted to wrap my arms around him and hold him right and never let him go. No child deserves that!!!! Especially on his birthday!!
Thank goodness for sweet Rachel.
Having a friend to talk to really helps!
I can't imagine carrying something around like that my whole life!!!
I'm so glad for God's Grace.
I liked Rachel.
But, I will say this, I love love

I really, really wanted to love this book. I had been anxiously awaiting its release since I read Annie's Recipe, the second book in the series. However, the book fell short of my expectations and left me with mixed feelings.

I liked Rachel and Jarred, the two main characters of the book, but didn't find them to be very complex. I would have liked to have seen them a bit more developed and maybe not quite so naive. Rachel seemed younger than her eighteen years and Jarred at times seemed younger

I have to be honest–using GoodReads’ star rating, I gave this book a 2/5 stars, which translates to it being “just okay.” I’m personally not one to have much patience for naive people, so I guess that translates to naive characters. Rachel is just 18 years old, and I understand that the Amish are in general very sheltered from the rest of the world. However, her naivety makes it seem like she’s a young girl of 8 or 9. I understand that as Christians, we are supposed to have a child-like faith. H ...more

How delightful to follow Rachel Kauffman and Jarred Zimmerman as they find love. Rachel has simple desires to raise a family of her own...full of many babies. Jarred does not know the close knit family that Rachel does, and she is determined to reunite them.
This is the third book in a series, but can easily be read as a stand-alone. I think readers will want to read the entire series after reading this book if they haven't read the previous two.
I am rating this book 4 stars and highly recomm

Let me start by saying I started with the last book in the series and will be reading this series backwards. I am so glad this series is a stand alone book series. Even though I know a little bit about the next book I have up to read Annie’s Recipe I am still eager to read it.

Rachel Kauffman is the youngest of a close-knit amish clan and the glass half full attitude thanks to an elderly man she is close to Old Sam. When her beloved horse Cinnamon falls ill, young vet Jarred Zimmerman struggles

This was the first book I read of Lisa Jones Baker’s. This was the third book in the series, but not having read the first two I found it could stand alone. Rachel, a sweet Amish girl, leans on God and prays about everything expecting all prayers to be answered. Jarred, an English vet, was given up by his parent’s as a young boy and was raised by a Mennonite couple. Rachel’s sick horse brings them together in the beginning and helps them to develop a deeper relationship.

Rachel's Dream is the 3rd book written by Lisa Jones Baker in her Hope Chest of Dreams series. This is another heartwarming story that takes place in Arthur, Illinois. The story is definetly one about healing, reuniting, and a strong faith. The characters are very likeable and I enjoyed several of them.

Rachel and Jarred are from two different worlds so ther than friends and veterinarian they can be nothing more. The character of Old Sam a very wise older Amish man is very insightful and helps Ra

RACHEL'S DREAM ( HOPE CHEST OF DREAMS #3) LISA JONES BAKER

Rachel Kaufman has nothing in common with the young veterinarian, Jarred Zimmerman, an Englisher. Dr Zimmerman has been treating Rachel's beloved horse, Cinnamon, who Rachel's father has no hope of ever getting better.
Because of a tragedy that happened when he was younger and left Jarred estranged from his family, Jarred seems to trusts the animals that he heals more than he can trust people. When Jarred struggles to save Cinnamon, Rachel

I reviewed this for RT Bookreviews Magazine: https://www.rtbookreviews.com/book-re...

This book concludes the Host Chest of Dreams series. Overall, this is a hope-filled story, but it is a bit hard to connect with the characters for part of the novel. Some of the changes in Jarred seem to occur a bit too quickly. Rachel’s desire to focus on the positives in life is a good reminder.

Rachel Kauffman’s horse Cinnamon is ill, and she is praying that Dr. Jarred Zimmerman will be able to save him. Rache

Rachel's Dream ( Hope Chest Dreams #3)
By Lisa Jones Baker
Rachel’s Dream is the third and final book in Hope Chest Dreams series. I have read the first two books in this series and I have enjoyed them all. Rachel’s Dream could be read as a stand-a-lone , but I would suggest to read them in order. Rachel’s Dream is centered around her horse, Cinnamon . Rachel is a young Amish Girl and loves her horse Cinnamon. He gets very sick and not expected to live, Dr. Jarred Zimmerman treats Cinnamon, and he

I received an advance reader's edition through Goodreads. This is a romance and the first Inspirational Romance I've read. This is the third book in the Hope Chest of Dreams series featuring Amish women. I'm sure it was the "Amish women" that drew my attention and I wish there had been more about the Amish in the book. Rachel Kauffman is the youngest in a close-knit Amish family. The family horse that Rachel dearly loves has fallen ill from a dangerous virus that has killed horses in the area. T ...more

The third book in the Hope Chest of Dreams series, author Lisa Jones Baker will pull you into the world of Rachel and Jarred. A warm story with its share of twists and turns, I really enjoyed it.

Rachel is a little syrupy sweet, but you can’t help liking her. She’s a determined character who knows what she believes and what she wants. Jarred has been wounded and I wondered how things would ever work out. Learning to trust God is an important lesson in this story and if you like Amish fiction I hi

Old Sam Beachy and his wisdom with Rachel, Annie and Rebecca in the Hope Chest of Dreams made this series delightful. Rachel Kauffman knew what she wanted in life. Jarred Zimmerman had been deeply hurt early in his life; however, he was an extraordinary veterinarian. Rachel and Jarred met with Jarred caring for Rachel's beloved horse, Cinnamon. How will Old Sam's wisdom and comment "Memories stay in your heart. But the future's all about making new ones." affect Rachel and Jarred?

I loved this series Hope Chest of Dreams. This book was about Rachel Kaufman who is Amish and Jarred Zimmerman who is not. Rachel's horse Cinnamon gets sick and they call for the vet who is Jarred Zimmerman. Rachel knows how sick her horse is and is afraid she will die. Jarred comes to their farm and realizes how sick Cinnamon is. Rachel has a friend called Old Sam Beachy. He makes Hope Chests. She and her friends always turned to him for good advice. Rachel's undeniable faith and optimistic attitude encourages others and the new vet doc, Jarred who comes to care for Rachel's horse who is sick. Her father wants to put the horse down but Rachel's keeps praying that her horse gets well. Jarred reveals a devastating hurt from his past. Will Rachel be able to help him and where will their relationship go. I loved all the characters in this book and remember that the glass is always half full. Positive thoughts always.

I won this book. This is a pleasant story about an Amish girl Rachel, the youngest of a large family and the vet, Jarred, she meets when her horse is sick. He is an only child, estranged from his family and not Amish. Uncovering his secret, nursing her horse back to health and the differences between them take the rest of the book. There was too much about her horse and it detracted from the story.

A very good romance story between two people who are from different lifestyles, however I feel like the author did not do much research on the Amish lifestyle. There were a lot of at odds, that since I have taken the time to learn about the Amish, that it made me cringe.

I won this book in Goodreads Giveaways and I am in no way obligated or sponsored to provide a review.

I've loved the Hope Chest of Dreams series. The stories are so tender and the characters are so very sweet.

Rachel and her love for her sick horse really tugged at my heart. As an animal lover myself, I knew the heartache she felt. I loved Jared and his dedication to his work and more importantly his faith. The strong message of faith throughout added to my enjoyment.
Old Sam has been my favorite character throughout the series so I was delighted to catch up with him again. He's wise, kind and car
