Very well written book, Elizabeth George goes into depth about what god wants in a woman & how to be faithful Christian followers of Christ. She includes exemplary stories of the bible like Moses, & many more. She gives examples about her daughters in the section of being pure to yourself & god. She also mentions a couple sections about choosing your friends wisely & how to always include god in whatever you do. At the end of every chapter, she always includes activities for you to look up wit ...more

As a single young woman, one of the things God has laid on my heart is to reach out to younger girls who want to grow spiritually. God has opened doors in amazing ways, and over the last couple of years I’ve been in a position to really invest in the lives of several teenage girls. Last year I was able to lead a group through Elizabeth George’s book A Young Woman after God’s Own Heart.

MY REVIEW:
The classic book for women - A Woman After God's Own Heart now in format for teen girls of all ages! This book is the perfect Bible Study or simply a pleasure read for a teen girl who desires to know more about Jesus or grow in her relationship with Jesus. While this book is packed full of Biblical truth, sound advice, and practical application, it is also a fun book to read as Elizabeth has fun with 12 to 16 year old girls.

I lead multiple Bible studies in my home for teenage girls (the middleschoolers and the highschoolers)using this book and this has truly impacted so many of their lives. Even some of the mom's have been transformed by what they've read with their girls. Alot of this information is not being addressed in our churches which is one reason why I became so convicted this book needed to be taught. Teaching the 1st chapter by itself and the following 14 chapters, 3 @ a time, seemed to work the best. El

This is an excellent book for any daughter or young girl in your life who needs to know the heart of God for her life. This book highlights the common everyday things that our young female teens face. They will learn that through their daily challenges of being a teen, there is hope through Christ Jesus and power to stand.

A Young Woman After God’s Own Heart is a book about a Girls relationship with God and the people around her. The way Elizabeth Elliot wrights is a little flowery for my taste but some girls will very much enjoy it. I was able to discuss this book in a small group and it was beneficial. You can gather quite a bit from this book and the scripture references are wonderful.

Recommends it for:
Sunday School teachers, one-on-one disciplers, mentors, teen girls who want to grow spiritually
This is a very good study to do with a teen girl. It covers a variety of topics that teen girls deal with, which is helpful. The chapters are short, and typically there are only three or four study questions. I think that helps keep the student from being overwhelmed. It would be a terrific study for a teenage girl who is a newer Believer who needs discipleship.

I've been writing in this prayer journal for 6 1/2 years and my Great Niece Shannon gave me the copy of "A Womans High Calling". It is wonderful for me to get to know more of Elizabeth George's works. It was meant for me to read. Amen

It's been a while since I read this book (as in, four or five years!), but I remember it having taught me a lot as a young teenager. Really, really good for any young teenage girl struggling to continue a pure relationship with God despite the interference of the world.
